I've been for married for 31 and my husband is 12 older than I am. Also worked in the mission field in Central America. We also had great challenges. We were total opposites!!! Divorce was not an option. I feel that I am the most blessed woman in the world. Young couples need to learn to wait on God and read His Word and get their spiritual act together and God will bless you.
Marta Jackie Hornor i married two abusive men and he also abused my children and he was a so called christian or masquerading as one i am a true christian who believed God brought each one i had to leave i was being abused in all ways i am now 59 alone and deathly afraid of men itworks out for some and others have trials and tribulations but it doesnt change who my true husband is my beautiful Jesus who will never abuse me!
Bless God for your testimony and sincerity in letting God be your portion in order ti make your relationship work. Both parties need to be completely sold out in order for marriage to work.
I love hearing their testimony and they are amazing. I have quite an opposite testimony where marriage is concerned. I am literally the woman at the well. I now have been single and celibate for 10 years and I ask God to remove any desire or thoughts of any man. At my age I know that God is my everything and I need no man to be complete or whole. Some people are never meant to be married, and I am one of them. It would literally have to be God absolutely bringing someone in my door and they would have to be so totally sold out for God. Just too much at this point. Not everyone needs to be married. It is a lot of distraction no matter how much you are committed but they are truly blessed and I pray this kind of love for my Son and Daughter in law to be. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.
Carla you are not alone i have been treated just like a dog by my husbands the names i was called the fear i lived in every moment i stayed 10 yrs but i know Jesus doesnt call us to be abused so i left but he was very revengeful and he took my children and has kept them from me my heart died that day without Jesus i would not have made it My oldest daughter was taken home to heaven I am a woman who has hone through too much i fear men i work on healing daily with Jesus ! I dont need a husband but i am alone in the world it feels at 59 not fun but God makes beauty from out ashes God bless you sister!!! He has a plan for us!

Sometimes looking at them from the external point of view, you'll think it's all rosy and cozy; but it seems it took a lot of work and what Heidi called COVENANT to sustain this beautiful marriage we now see. This was so encouraging. The fact they lasted 20 years before God really intervened and dealt with the Deep hurts and met with them at Toronto. I wonder if they never had those encounters with God how their lives would or could have been different? I’m sure God would have still met with them because they both wanted Him and honoured Him more than anything and they were humble enough to repent etc. I’m so glad I saw this as so often we think these people have perfect marriages and it’s all plain sailing as they have so many other things they are dealing with.

Thank you for sharing this video. It gives me hope. My wife and I have been married for 25 years. There was a period of 12 years where I had been out of a gainful means of employment. There is a lot of "water under the bridge" from that difficult period of time, which has only been behind us for about 4 months now. We're having to rebuild, and it's hard.

Wonderful couple. great life lived out for Jesus and others. Is helpful to hear their struggles in marriage, but that they have grown closer in later years. Covenant keeps a marriage together, but connection is a choice. Both are important. Covenant is the foundation. Now connection can be chosen and worked on. Similar to our story. Working on connection now. So easy to just live separate lives together. Lord, bless the marriages of your people.

Can’t even express the timeliness and content of this message. Too much to explain here. Enduring healthy marriages have seasons of trials, self sacrifice and service sometimes without warm emotions. God brings the feelings as we love and trust Him. But it is SO worth enduring the dry seasons.

I have now watched the testimonies of couples which you have provided, and rejoice in the testimonies of what God is doing and what He is teaching His people. But I have this question - were any of the couples instructed concerning Jesus' requirements for being His disciples, which are listed in Luke 24:26, 27 and 33, and John 8:31. In addition, I wonder if any of these couples were instructed to crucify the flesh and the lusts thereof. It seems to me that a lot of what they went through could have been weeded out by following the elementary instructions of Jesus in these verses. I have found that asking Jesus for correction on a daily basis is often painful, but well worth the risk!! Our heavenly Father, being the greatest Farmer, knows the need to pluck up, break down, destroy and overthrow before building and planting. Jer 1:10.
this just exhausts me listening to this and nearly inoculates having jesus arrange your marriage .[suffer for 30 odd years and i might throw in a breakthrough ] i really wonder whether jesus was actually in control .and about his sort of condemning these 2 people to suffer and struggle so long .in my view it's a terrible advertisement for christian marriage . surely god can run things a bit smoother and throw in some joy and even happiness .are/were these 2 people like Kathryn Kuhlman mentioned ,"all zeal and buggerall knowledge " jesus nearly comes off as a sadist with these 2 then they get to crow .we held onto the covenant and suffered for jesus. then after about 30years he decides to rock up and fix up a few things . maybe heidi should have listened to her mum more. as ike said at omaha beach 20years after .we've got to get a better way of sorting conflict before we destroy ourselves . i suspect the same thing can be said about marriage . after listening to these to. but it is better than janice and richie 's solution in the sopranos PS on further reflection .one of the things i love about and am jealous of with heidi's heart is her ability to go ALL in whereas i find myself walking around and kicking the tyres maybe more than i need to . also i've noticed you gift can get you in trouble untill you learn how to drive it in kingdom gear . i wonder what was behind you being so full on .

I think they both started started off quite well and honest, but then couldn't be satisfied with pure Jesus (which is the pure bible), constantly were longing for more, and left the revelation limits given in God's word (which is again the pure bible)... so tragic!
And then he ... have you every heard him talking about the bible? When he seems to be "full of the spirit" - it's mocking the name of Jesus. How shameful!! God, bless them that they may return to you or find you! Enlighten them to find repentance!
Do you at least know anything about their rotten theology? Question: is there any difference between Jesus and the bible? How does God reveal himself? Some more questions, just to make you think: was Jesus born again? Are men little gods? Are we to test the spirits? Have signs and wonders to keep biblical parameters? Do we have to seed faith? Does God want us wealth and healthy? Is God a God of order? Or an entertainer? Are women allowed to take control over men? And so on ... the list is endless! The point is: would God ever choose to be revealed by a couple whose theology is so blantly contradicting his world (which again is - himself!) ??
Jenny, I urge you to start reading the bible. If you do already, but still don't see any problem with these false teachers, your approach of reading is obviously wrong. You need to 1) read every scripture within its context, 2) extract by that context approach each scripture's meaning 3) put all statements by parallels together to build an overall theology 4) avoid to put your opinions into the text (eisegese). And then very important: you end up with some contradictions in the bible! But I tell you what: these are done by intention to keep us on track. Don't dare to emphasize only one side and neglect the other. As an example could serve the topic if one could loose his salvation! There are verses that say "no" and verses with "yes". God put them both together to keep us on track. And that's a good example. It applies for many more topics in the bible! So is the bible perfect? Yes absolutely - but not in such a dull and dump way we would like to have it! Understand?

I think they both started started off quite well and honest, but then couldn't be satisfied with pure Jesus (which is the pure bible), constantly were longing for more, and left the revelation limits given in God's word (which is again the pure bible)... so tragic!

Do you at least know anything about their rotten theology? Question: is there any difference between Jesus and the bible? How does God reveal himself? Some more questions, just to make you think: was Jesus born again? Are men little gods? Are we to test the spirits? Have signs and wonders to keep biblical parameters? Do we have to seed faith? Does God want us wealth and healthy? Is God a God of order? Or an entertainer? Are women allowed to take control over men? And so on ... the list is endless! The point is: would God ever choose to be revealed by a couple whose theology is so blantly contradicting his world (which again is - himself!) ??
Jenny, I urge you to start reading the bible. If you do already, but still don't see any problem with these false teachers, your approach of reading is obviously wrong. You need to 1) read every scripture within its context, 2) extract by that context approach each scripture's meaning 3) put all statements by parallels together to build an overall theology 4) avoid to put your opinions into the text (eisegese). And then very important: you end up with some contradictions in the bible! But I tell you what: these are done by intention to keep us on track. Don't dare to emphasize only one side and neglect the other. As an example could serve the topic if one could loose his salvation! There are verses that say "no" and verses with "yes". God put them both together to keep us on track. And that's a good example. It applies for many more topics in the bible! So is the bible perfect? Yes absolutely - but not in such a dull and dump way we would like to have it! Understand?
