      Thanks! Hoping it'll help other parents choose the right bike for their kids. I like spin classes in a blue moon but not one for riding on the street. Did a triathalon (sprint) once and that was all the bike I could ever want

    Hi! Great review! You mention that you can change out the tires for bigger ones. Do you know what is the biggest size tire that the frame would support? Thank you!

    I had a couple of the neighborhood kids ringing my doorbell like a fire had broken out. The young boy had a flat tire and he was asking if I could fix it. Luckily, I had some glueless tire patches. Where did the patches come from...I have no idea. It took me a few minutes to fix it, but as was I looking over his bike, it was pretty beat up. After they left I'd figure I look into a new bike for him. I came across this one on Amazon. It looked pretty nice, so I texted his parents if they wouldn't mind if I buy him a new bike. He's a good kid, very respectful and asks a lot of questions. I don't mind. I'm a retired USAF guy and it's good to see a good kid. They are the ones we need to mentor. I haven't heard back from his parents. They are a young couple so I'm sure they are busy. Anyways, I do plan on buying this bike for him. I appreciate your honest review. Hope your son is enjoying his bike. Something he will remember when he gets to be my age.

    Hey, how are you? I just got this bike for my son and I’m having a bit of trouble with the handle bar. I place it in the hole and tightened it but it doesn’t seem to turn the wheel. Would appreciate the help. Thanks.

      Not 100 percent certain, has to be something with the tightener alignment or placement

      NoFate247 many thanks! My son is almost the exact same age and height as your son is in the video. I have a 3 year old that could take over the 16”, so I’ll need to decide what make more sense. Do you know if 16” can be upgraded to 18 or 20” wheels? I can call Schwinn and ask.

    I would recommend changing the quill stem out with a better one. They are dangerous and garbage. Also the hand brakes were nothing but trouble trying to adjust. Never had such a hard time adjusting brakes and never actually got them to function properly. Other than that, not too bad.
    I cannot stress enough on that quill stem though. Change it out.

    • @NoFate247
      @NoFate247  8 місяців тому

      How long did it take you To change out the stem

    • @miguelquazar883
      @miguelquazar883 8 місяців тому

      It is an easy change out. It takes a few minutes. But it was not readily available. The stem clamp assembly is fixed on the stem. The stem clamp was the problem. It is made of very poor quality allow. But because it was fixed, a whole new quill stem was needed. I did a lot of research and like this bike and think it was a better option than the common cheap walmart bike. But I still cannot figure out what is wrong with the brakes or why they never worked for me. The stem clamp stripped out and the bars were never able to be tight and kept moving. Been riding for 35 years and learned a lot on the way from family and other avid riders.
      I recently helped kick the training wheels with my son and he is riding without them now. But as we are riding, i see his rear rim was bent pretty bad. He fell a few times since the training wheels came off. There hasnt been anything signifigant a 6 year old could have done. He is fine.
      I think this model was outsourced a bit too much is the only explanation. And it was over sold. But, with a few inexpensive swaps it can still remain a good deal and will be a competitive choice as the bike market is insane these days.
      The being able to grow and have the bike for a long period of time is awesome. To me that makes it ok to have to change out a few components that are extremely important when it comes to safety. If it makes a difference for years it is all good.
      Im not knocking your review at all. Im just sharing
