Understanding Yod Aspects In Your Astrology Chart

- A yod aspect, or finger of God, is an energy of pressure and tension on one point or planet in your chart. A yod involves two quincunx planets (at 150 degrees) focusing on another planet or point. A yod shows you what can be very uncomfortable until you learn to honor the highest expressions of each planet and sign.
In this teaching video, I will guide you through the basics of these energies and how to understand what you are here to master through this dynamic aspect.

Wow your intimate analysis was amazing. I have a yod with these same energies and I feel my Virgo and Scorpio energies are on my shoulders telling my aries moon to be overly critical and fear judgment from expressing myself. You're an amazing teacher. I have a yod in aries/scorpio/virgo, just like in the video. There is something about standing up for oneself/finding one's value/ in the aries focal point that is a lifetime lesson to be learned. Very enlightening for me. I will rewatch.

This is so amazing! I have two yods in my chart, and in one, the signs are *exactly* as you have them in this example chart! Three in Virgo (Sun, Venus, and Mars), one in Scorpio (Pluto,), and my North Node in Aries! I honestly can't believe just how accurate your message describes...I mean, to the *T*...the current situation I am facing. I also have another Yod that only has three planets, and will be going back over this video in reference to that one as well. Thank you so much!

Amazing video Molly! Starting to learn aspects of my natal chart and you teach so fluidly. Scorpio Sun, Cancer Rising, and Pisces Moon in the 9th House. I have a Scorpio & Sagittarius Stellium in the 5th & 6th house respectively.
I think I have two Yod’s:
NN in Taurus in the 12th House at the Apex
Pluto in Scorp
Neptune in Sag
And second Yod is Chiron in Gemini in the 11th House at the Apex, Jupiter in Cap, Sun in Scorpio.

Most clarity of content for understanding that I've found, for interpretating this aspect.
I have one question - how do we interpret when it points at an Outer Planet, like Pluto and Uranus, (I have a Pluto in Virgo point).
A very helpful explanation! This example chart is very similar to my own Yod. I have the Sun and Pluto in that degree, conjunct Jupiter at a similar degree and Uranus. Neptune is the sextile, and Saturn is the focal point in Aries. Saturn is also opposite Merc/Venus/MC in Libra, and in a minor grand trine with Mars in Leo and the Moon in Cancer. Chiron is in Aries, with the North Node too. Though my house placements are different, you really spoke to me and my journey of standing in my own identity and not feeling guilty about it.
This is amazing! The planets are different however the signs are the same as my yod! Mars and Neptune in Scorpio. Uranus, MC, Pluto in Virgo. Moon is in Aries. Thanks for taking the time to teach!!

Care to explain a "golden" yod in a natal? I've been doing my own research, following my intuitive understanding with energies and how they connect. However, there's not much other than hysteria and nonsense on the internet about a golden yod placement. I've been fortunate enough to be blessed with one. I would really just like another higher level input from someone who understands astrology and astronomy and how they combine. Many blessings Molly and keep up your fantastic work!!!
Well that makes a lot of sense to me now. I have my natal sun at 25 scorp in the 5th, sextile my natal pluto and uranus in virgo in the 3rd. Transiting uranus in aries in my 10th makes this yod aspect. For years I've been trying to get my father (10th) to listen to me (3rd) about what's really going on in the world and what's coming. I've been so frustrated because as the patriarch of this family, i feel it's his responsibility first to protect us all, but he doesn't Believe. Transiting venus in scorpio joined in, and gave me the backbone to become that "patriarchal" energy. I'm letting go of my frustration and resentment, and realizing just how dependent on him I've been... and it's very empowering! I'm preparing to buy land to accommodate my family on my own. Hopefully, I've got this. 😤🙏 is there another way to interpret that? Also, my boss always wants to know my personal business. Lol. i appreciate that you're using this woman's chart to teach us. Thanks for this Molly. I'm a sag sun and rising.Still find it all quite over my head. I've a double yod facing Saturn and moon in cancer (7th house), from Mercury (11th house) and Neptune (12th house) in the top in Sag (covering 11th and 12th house) and from Venus and Jupiter in Aquarius (2nd house). OMG, had a total epiphany after this video. Just realized I have an asteroid yod with Ceres and Chiron conjunct in Gemini (12th house) and inconjunct Pluto/Vesta (6th) at 5 Scorpio and Neptune (7th) at 4 Capricorn.
I’m pretty sure my twin flame journey has activated this and is affecting my recent weight gain and financial instability (both of which I *thought* I had resolved as of a year ago).
That said, are you still doing chart readings and/or where is the best place to order that from you?

I've been wondering about the yod for a long time & have been frustrated learning about it. You see, I have a double yod (Mars [13 deg & Pluto [14 deg] in Leo, sextile Neptune [12 deg] in Libra, quincunx Moon [11 deg] in Pisces...see why I'm frustrated? I have venus in aries, moon in virgo and pluto in scorpio placement. This video helps me to understand my yod configuration completely. This is so helpful - I will watch again and apply the steps to my Yod. I've had such a hard time understanding it, because it's a Taurus Moon apex fed into by Sag. Neptune and Libra Pluto - so I'm really emotionally affected by these powerful external energies, but what do I do about it? It is the work of a lifetime to sort out and bring into harmony.
I went through a bunch of vids on Yods but yours is the first one that really goes into how to read a Yod. So thanks for that.
However I'm more confused than before now cos the Apex planet is Venus and Jupiter (same degree) and they both point back to the other 2 points of the Yod (Venus as ruler of Libra and Jupiter as the ruler of Sag). So they basically bouncing off of each other.
Plus the NN is right in the middle of the Sextile as an activator and the SN is conjuncting Venus and Jupiter by 2 degrees.

I have three yods in my chart. Alot of planets are inconjunct to my ascendant. What does that mean?
This chart is my mom's chart, except the personal planets. My mom has almost the same Yod but instead of being with Venus, it is with Saturn (Aries; conjunct Chiron and NN) - Jupiter and Pluto - Neptune.
then there's me having my finger of god pointing to Chiron in Leo, 8th house lol (which is also retrograde). it receives energy from neptune and uranus in capricorn, 1st house + moon and venus in pisces, 3rd house. I can't figure it out very well yet but thank you for this video, it helped me a lot actually seeing how it works.

Thank you for this info Molly McCord. A friend of mine has a DIFFICULT YOD in his chart. He has a lot of unique and difficult placements, but I'm pretty sure his yod is the cause of his mental anguish. I am almost done with a year long astrology course and his chart was one of the reasons I took the course! I am searching for someone who can help me interpret it. I bought Karen Hamaker-Zondag's book "The Yod Book" but his yod is just too complicated for me. Can anyone put me in touch with an expert? Molly, can you do another yod video and use his as an example?! If anyone wants his birth info and to look at his unique chart (he has given me permission in hopes of getting help) it's: January 22, 1971 at 3:44 am in Cleveland, TN.
It involves his greater malefic Saturn at the apex, and it's in the malefic 6th house. Both rulers of all 3 yod houses are in the first house where he also has a 4 planet stellium in a tight conjunction to his ASC, so big overwhelming energy in the 1st house. Both of the rulers of his sun sign (Saturn and Uranus) are participating in the yod. The apex is at 15° Taurus which is a very fixed energy. Being that the planets involved are Saturn, Uranus, and Venus, these planets affect MULTIPLE HOUSES so lots of areas of his life when activated.

People say this is rare, but I have one, my two siblings have one, my mom has one and my niece (sister’s daughter), so I wonder how rare they are? It makes me wonder if there really is something to this family karma idea.
When the outer planets sextile each other, I think it brings generational groups, where a lot of yod combinations are born with different points of pressure. So, I may have my point through mercury, and my sister’s might be through Venus, but the two ‘base planets could be the same. Just a thought.
