I'm honestly a bit confused why both Sharkey and Pox seem to just ignore the iridium sprinklers. It takes three Quality sprinklers at 3k each equalling 9k to cover 24 squares, whereas it just takes one iridium sprinkler at 7.5k to cover 24 squares. For that 16k you could have got two iridium sprinklers and watered 48 plants, but instead you bought 4 quality sprinklers which would only cover 32 plants.
It may just be down to the mechanics of scale. It's easier to buy one sprinkler at 3k over one at 7.5k IF other things are needed as well. Plus the earlier you have a sprinkler, it means less watering. I could, of course, be wrong, and only Sharky and Poxial really know the whys and wherefores. 😊
I absolutely agree with you. I think it’s partly due to how they laid out the crops. And I think both of them are also not used to iridium sprinklers much in the first year.
The layout is better for me personally. I like 3x3 grids 😅 easier to farm and are more manageable! Plus, it's cheaper to buy quality sprinklers for 3k each at one single time and save money for other things such as wood/stone/food etc. Buying 1 sprinkler for 7.5k every time yes would be more cost effective in the long run but would take longer to get, and leaves me short of cash for other things!😢
@@SharkyGamess I totally get your point of the 3x3 grids, but its just funny when we watch you buy 9k worth of sprinklers when you could have saved 1.5k for the same amount of watered space and then used that 1.5k for the other goods. Its easy to say when we aren't the ones playing and recording
This series is so fun! I look forward to watching more. And I can hardly wait to watch Poxial's movie that he is going to make of this. I can't wait to hear what his thoughts are as he wanders around your farm. I love his sense of humor. I'm sure he's also going to have some shenanigans to share with us after all is said and done. As well put together as his farm looks, I'm sure he has had his share of silly things happen too. ^_^
You just know that at 33:50 that Ol' Willy is having the best day. Both of the new farmers are out fishing in front of his shop. Keeping him company and getting their lines wet. He had to know ya'll were fishing with the fact they were buying bait and new poles, and the occasional glimpse of one of you fishing, but coming out of his shop after a long day behind the counter and seeing both of you fishing must have warmed his heart. All his work keeping the 'art 'o fishing alive' seems to be doing something after all.
Willy is one of my favorite characters. He is so wholesome and works so earnestly at the thing he loves. I wish they'd add dialogue for when you spend time fishing around him. Or at least have doing that passively increase his hearts with you over time. Willy has always struck me as a man who would prefer someone spending a day out on a fishing boat with him rather than getting a gift twice a week. That would be a cool little add on for 1.6!

The fish pond is definitely out of left field but we’ll see how that goes. Maybe it’ll distract Pox. I’m big on playing at my own pace so kudos for racing that clock. You’ve got this Sharky.
I feel like fish ponds don't get the love they deserve so I'm excited to see it in use! Sturgeon would've been a better choice, money wise, but I'm not sure what the super cucumber will give (aside from iridium) so I'm excited to find out!!
@@victoriahewitt9938 for a marginally larger footprint, you can have a big shed full of kegs. 1 fish pond loot or 100+ wines. Fish ponds are a perfection requirement but outside of that, essentially useless.
@@LuckySecond Yeah, money wise they may not be as profitable, but I get bored playing with just kegs. It makes me feel like I have to be a min/maxer & that there's only one way to play the game. I still use a lot of kegs but I try exploring & trying different things. If I enjoy it I don't mind it if it's not as profitable. Like I said, it's unusual to see them in competitions like this but I'm really excited to see creativity! Every run I watch is just kegs. We'll see how it goes!
14:15 I know you’re probably way past this point but I usually keep a grape plant in the greenhouse because of how rare the grapes can be. They’re usually the limiting reagent when I making summer seeds

I'm sure you're done recording this series by now but just a tip for the future, if you do this type of playthrough again: standard quality blueberries are more profitable than straight-selling if you turn them into seeds with the seed maker and then sell those instead! crabberries may be as well but I can't remember for sure

One note: I enjoy the time-skips with SdV music more than the other music, kind of takes me out of the game for a bit. Idk if this is happening to anyone else.
I much prefer the SDV music and the other music is so much louder than the rest of the video that it's very jarring
Not quite understanding why you wouldn’t make a seed maker and make the ancient fruit into more ancient seeds… that’s and deluxe speed grow would be the best way to increase your supply so you can make more ancient fruit wine down the road… I know this series is way over but just a thought! Wonderful series overall!! Such a fun experience! ❤

In the comments people keep saying Thursday and how much they look forward to it. Even though I know the videos come out on certain days I never noticed which one. lol I just enjoy logging in and getting suprised each time the video pops up on my feed.

I talked to friend about us giving this a try as well and we're excited to do so! I'll be hosting, but I don't have a ton of experience with mods. Can you tell me how you got started with the Greenhouse already available? Or is it a part of the 2-player Greenhouse mod?
They used cheats to finish up the JoJa warehouse on day 1 when they were setting up the farm, so they've got access to the greenhouse right away.

Is there a reason why you don't do Help Wanted quests or anything else that gives you friendship with the villagers? Was that excluded in your competitive rules? I think it could be profitable, on the side. At least a little bit (selling gifts, money gifts, money from help wanted quests, cooking, crafting...).

Kinda saddened me to see you spend 5k on the fish pond and waste a day gathering the resources. Since this series ends somewhat soon, I am not sure you’ll even get the 5k back. I don’t care to do the math to confirm my thoughts right now lol. It might make money, but I think 5k could’ve been spent better given the quick series.
yeah, i love fish ponds but you need to sell more than 10 aged super cucumber roe (with artisan) to get the 5k back. i'd say that for a short money challenge, you shouldn't really waste your gold on a pond (unless you have a lava eel maybe)
I do believe that they are looking at overall income earned and not what is in the bank so it won’t matter.
