    Mine comes in about the same time!. We need to circle back. The moment the 1100mx was released on you tube I wanted it bad. Took years but Saved up cash so first thing is thank the Mrs. Thanks for the videos, and the passion for the machine.

      That is awesome man!! Congrats on the new machine! These MX Series are awesome when I first saw the MX series I wanted one so bad! When I got my 770m I was looking at the series 3s and the M series released and I needed the machine ASAP and didn't have time to wait another 6 months for the MX series to release so I grabbed the M. I had planned to get a brother speedio, but just not quite there yet in terms of credit and capital to get affordable terms, I could get one but needed to put down like 25k and figured it would be better to grind another year with 2 Tormachs and by then I should be able to get any industrial machine I want. I considered going back and upgrading the M to a loaded MX to go along with the new 1100mx but I think its just worth it to save the 10 grand doing that and use it on a down payment for an industrial machine next year!

      I remember watching these videos when I had a converted G0704 clone with a tool changer and everything wanting a tormach so bad with all its off the shelf parts and great support, ended up skipping the tormach and jumping on a used long bed Robodrill. The speed and size are night and day.

      @@visionforge1254 that's awesome man! Robodrills kick major ass! I'm actually hoping to get a brother speedio asy next machine upgrade. My 1100mx arrives this week, finally! Hopefully grinding it out with 2 Tormach machine's I'll be in the place financially and with a steady enough workload to sell my 770m and get an industrial machine by the end of next year!

    Great video, love to see someone create their own opportunities by learning a skill (especially in manufacturing) and build a profitable business on their own! I worked in a machine shop waaaaay back in 1987 running a backing off lathe to make cutters. The shop I was at had 1 CNC then and I was told it cost close to $1 mill at the time. Incredible to see this technology at point where I could purchase one for my garage! I would love to learn CNC, can I ask how you learned?

    • @ClockwerkIndustries
      @ClockwerkIndustries  2 роки тому

      Thanks Ron! Yeah its wild to think how far the technology has come that you can get a capable mill for a decent price now to start on your own at home! I actually started because I started this building modded computers, at first I used hand tools, then I saw someone on some forums using a CNC router to cut panels and make interesting parts I couldnt do by hand, so I decided to build a CNC router kit and really just wing it and try to figure it out lol. I just built the kit and watched youtube videosand read CNC forum posts on how to run the software, calibrate the machine, run the controller and so on, basically self taught. It was pretty unorthodox but I just loved running the machines and kept at it, the more I learned the more I liked it! Its pretty insane how much information is out for free these days online, part of the reason I started this channel was to share some helpful things about CNC that I figured out along the way.

    My 1100mx gets in late september early october. Cant wait.

    • @ClockwerkIndustries
      @ClockwerkIndustries  3 роки тому +1

      Thats awesome!! Yeah Mine said September too, but I have a feeling some will come in earlier. Its a safer bet to have a long backorder time and then send out machines earlier, than try to pin down an early time and have it keep getting delayed. I had some Tormach replacement parts on backorder almost 8 weeks and they shipped out after like 3-4 weeks. Tormach did mention on Instagram to my comment that they have machines trickling in every couple weeks between big shipments. So fingers crossed we get some machines earlier than later!!

      @@ClockwerkIndustries man i hope so. I financed threw Geneva on tormach website. The sooner the better i say. What did you spec out?? I got the premium model with literally every upgrade. Also nabbed the 8inch super spacer.

      @@JayVon_Ro same here I went fully loaded with the operator console, Toolchanger, but went with the microarc 4th axis! Good thing is since my down payment has the first and last payment in it my monthly payment doesn't start until a month after I get the machine.

    • @JayVon_Ro
      @JayVon_Ro 3 роки тому +1

      @@ClockwerkIndustries I think we have the same plan lol. My grand total was 35,268$ including shipping and extras. Specific reason you went with the micro arc instead of a more rigid 4th with ability to be horizontal and vertical?

    • @ClockwerkIndustries
      @ClockwerkIndustries  3 роки тому +1

      @@JayVon_Ro Yeah I think mine ended up coming in around 32500, I need to get an electronic tool setter, there's someone in the tormach FB group that makes them for 300$ so that would save a few bucks, I did get the tormach passive probe but plan to get David loomes wireless conversion. I went with the microarc for the harmonic drive and though its not as rigid and beefy as the other 4th axis its more accurate out of the box, the other ones are accurate after some tuning and backlash comp, but I am going to be using the 4th axis about 75% of the time as a trunnion to machine the top and bottom of my production sheets in one cycle and need the most possible positional accuracy. I still have about 2 grand in accessories to pick up from other vendors.

    What cam cad software do you use? Cool machining content

    • @ClockwerkIndustries

      Thanks man! Going to try to get more videos up with machining/laser/3d printing/PC modding content. I have been using Fusion360 for all my CAD and CAM for about 4 years now. I used to use Vectric Aspire when I was on my CNC router mostly, but going into product development and production, Fusion360 was the best bang for the buck, will probably stick with it, only reason I see switching to anything else is if I decide to apply for an FFL as I begin my journey into firearm parts but as of right now I have no intention of going beyond anything past 80%s. Im going to be doing firearm stuff once the new machine is here and I get my computer modding product lines dialed in.
