Another outstanding episode of the Weekly Comic Book Review. Really appreciate it being posted a bit earlier this week. Always appreciate your review of the comics from other than Marvel and DC as always seems to be something new to pick up or read. Going to give Kaya a try this week due to your consistent praise of this book. Thanks once again, Robbie.
Okay for whatever reason I've been sitting on Volumes 1&2 of Kaya for a couple weeks now you gave me that push to dive into the series. As always dude, love how much you love comics.
I’m all in on Kaya myself. Great book. Regarding Geoff Isherwood, He’s been around a long time, some Doctor Strange, some great issues of King Conan (or was it Conan the King by then). His most notable work for me was he was the artist the replaced Jackson Guice on Bill Mantlo’ Sword of the Swashbucklers from Marvel/ Epic Comics. Do yourself a favor and seek this comic out. Fantastic stuff.
I really want to know what the return of Youngblood means for Blood Squad 7. After losing Local Man I don't to have this one get ripped out from under me.
Hi Robbie, It appears you were a bit triggered by my comments on Spawn / Marvel last week. I had no intend to offend, as I appreciate your reviews a lot and often agree. For instance; you pointed me toward Kaya, which is a great and under-appreciated gem indeed! However, I think no one is free from confirmation bias. I understand frustration as a result from some of Marvel output, e.g. I believe many fans experience ASM as an inconsistent, expensive, diluted and regurgitating series, however, in my opinion this frustration also points to a problematic aspect of fan culture. Why are so many people angry yet adamant on reading ASM, while a far better Spider-man series that features PP and MJ as a couple is on the stands today? And of course Red Band Editions are a marketing stunt, but marketing stunts are and have been commonplace in the mainstream comics market, and on a positive note, it is evidence of Marvel's commitment to getting readers to a brick and mortar LCS for weekly single issues again. So in conclusion I do think that Marvel still publishes good and influential comics, as well as some that are less successful. I do not believe that people at marvel do not "care"', I believe a big problem Marvel and DC struggle with is that many titles either have no clear target audience or do not really connect with their target audience for several reasons (not just quality). I do think this is something that the current stream of smaller lines like Ultimate, Absolute, Energon and Ghost Machine does better, so there is hope! And maybe I also fell for my own confirmation bias, as I have not read Spawn in quite a while, so I will give it a try this week :)
It's a great holiday! We get spooky one shot horror comics this time of year. Pagan just means rural. Plus, it's also All Hallowed's Eve, a celebration of Christian Saints. And it also is part of the Latino celebration of remembering the dead. Pretty much ALL cultures throughout time have had fall festivals. I live in the South. We love Halloween, cause we love autumn and winter. Summers down here are brutal.
@eric106071 i was not being negative. I was stating that not everyone celebrates Halloween. Nothing wrong with someone who doesn't or states their opinion.
You look happy and at peace with the world.Awesome!

Do not people who do not celebrate Halloween. It is a pagan holiday.
