This is a great concept. I love how Jill shares her soul and passion with the audience on and off stage. Her admiration for her mother is palpable. I aspire to be the type of mother who is willing to share new experiences with my children so that they will think of me the way Jill thinks of her mother. I can't wait to hear the full CD.
I love Jill Scott and hate that I am so late. I just learned about how amazing she was when I heard The Real Thing. What I really appreciate is that she makes it okay to feel life and so many people run away from it. I love the passion. She reminds me that it is okay to have that passion when life tells you you shouldnt. Real stuff..just love it and hope to continue to learn, grow, and listen. I love this lady! I feel her story about her mom! and that part about not wanting to do anything on demand! ...my mom exposed me to so much and it has really help me grow! I always ask her "how did you know" - how did she know that I would need all those experiences and where I was going. She says she didn't know ....she just knew that the most successful people she knew had a wealth of experiences that shaped them! Thank you! Mom! ...and if you want me to do nothing ...tell me I HAVE to!
