I like to remove the verdigree of the chrome/nickel. I personally like it to look like it's been well played. But if I'm restoring the drum for someone else I can make them look as close to brand new as possible. thanks again for all the support brother. Lastly I restored that snare about 4-5 years ago.
Those snare gates are fragile and are usually bent. Nice drum. I usually replace the butt plate screws with stainless steel. Little stronger and they look good with the nickel when you polish them. Also you can use 15” wires if you drill a hole in the center of one end.
