Vintage ASMR: All of your favourite nostalgic sounds!

- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- To see us into November, I wanted to try something a little different and take a moment to not only feel a little bit more connected, but to do it in a way that brings back a comforting nostalgia, or at least a vintage appreciation. And I have done this through ASMR! This video is perfect to have on in the background as you go about your bustling day to day life, allow it to transport you for a short while to the charm of bygone eras, or maybe even to your grandparents house!
As we head into the colder months, I feel rather transformative in my approach to life, I'm going to be allowing peace and steadiness and allow myself to enjoy the small things much more than I do now. Life is precious, and if you listen closely, it has many gifts to give.

I love this ASMR. It's so warm and peaceful ❤️
Lovely video with some equally as lovely sentiments. Thank you 💕💕
Reading a book by an real fire with a clock tick tocking in the background heaven ❤
That was nicely done, thank you 😀
My favorite vintage sound is when a steam engine goes through the center of town on the weekends (people take rides up into the mountains to see the autumn colors).
The sound of steam engine whistles and their chug a chug a chug sounds make me cry. I love the sounds that steam engines make.
Absolutely loved this ❤️ 👏
Beautifully done.
"Where there's tea there's hope" 🥰
I wrote most of my undergrad papers on an old portable typewriter I found among my Dad's old things -- I also wrote many letters with it.
And my cat does the same thing when I try to pull away 😁🐱
I have just bought a vintage whistling kettle to use on my gas cooker. As I got fed up with buying electric kettles that seem to last no time at all. It sounds the same as the last one that I had over 25 years ago. 🙂
@@corringhamdepot4434 l have a whistling kettle, l love it 😊
Funny how all of these things bring me such comfort. I have always been what they called a home body. My children are all the same. 5, 8 and 12 yo boys sat with rapt attention watching this and still as can be.
I loved this episode so much!!❤
I love the cover on your tea pot. I have a knitted tea cozy, and an embroidered one for summer. Love the crackling fire, l miss a coal fire, nothing like it for warmth. I remember the sound of the typewriter, l learned to type on one, many year's ago, along with Pitman script shorthand.
Your video sent me straight back to my childhood and the simplicity and naturalness of the way we lived. As children you have no money and gather your treasures from the sights and sounds around you. I still treasure these things as a child born in the 60's.
Cup of tea fixes everything, love the fire Hannah😊
This is how my house is. Old stuff and sounds. So calming. Thanks woman.
This is wonderful ❤❤❤❤
Got to love a good cat and a cuppa.
simple pleasures are the best.
I am watching this on the eve of the US elections since I need some peace. I’m trying not to cry atm since peace seems so far away. Remember what the Beatles used to say: All you need is love.
I have a yellow Carlton Ware teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl and small dish thing (no idea what it is for). It's very pretty. Same yellow as your teapot.
Love your cat. Adorable. My white and black girl always holds our hand or arm when stroking her head if she's lying down. And then ends with a little nibble.
Your little dish is to empty the cup each time you refill, there would have been tea leaves at the bottom as people I knew didn’t use strainers. Knowing this makes me feel old 😊.
I miss my woodstove so much but it just got to be too much work as we're retired - finding it, cutting it, and stacking it just got to be overwhelming but I sure to miss it especially in our Canadian winters - but thank god for gas. Love this vid! ♥
Love to see more of this silent asmr stuff ! Not that you talk is anything other than a delight 😂😊
agree
I love your posts. I miss these days. Thank you. I can virtually smell the tea in the pot and the trays even used to have a nice smell to them and I love your rug.
loved the quotes throughout
Another fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. Very calming to watch.
Love this and your home.
Thanks for putting this video together - it is much appreciated and reminded me of my grandmother 💛
Perfect.
Love this video🧡Thank you. I feel so calm and peaceful now😊
so beautiful and relaxing ❤❤
Loved this ❤
I love the sound of the manual typewriter. I learned to touch type on a manual way back in the late 70s. I would love to find a working Imperial manual typewriter once again. And beautiful kitty puring away is another wonderful childhood memory. Thank you.
I loved this!
Thank you from America; this is a little piece before the storm (sh×*t show) tomorrow 😅 😢 it's election day.
I'm giving you grace on your typewriter skills. That is the most adorable little typewriter ever ❤
So calming! This is really nice.❤️
This was lovely. You are very talented and creative. Every style of video you try comes out great. X
sweet kitty!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Just loved this! I’m going to re watch and pause so I can jot down the lovely quotes. Thank you so much for this. 🩷
So peaceful.🧡
Can you please provide information on your beautiful teapot and cover? I just found your channel and I love it so much! Thank you!
I'm sure it's a vintage teapot which was thrifted.

♥️
Nice.
❤
As a complete heathen with technology can you tell me what ASMR stands for please?
You can Google what the actual acronym is but essentially it is things that sound in a way that evokes a feeling. In this case, it's evoking a feeling of comfort and peacefulness. It might also evoke nostalgia from grandparents house or the sounds that you grew up with.
@@therewillbecatswithgwenhwyfar Thats what it is :)
autonomous sensory meridian response
@ ❤️
This is not vintage but I love thr startup sound/music that used to play for Windows 95. I dont know why but it give me thr deepest sense of nostalgia and peace.
Very nice, you've created a lovely insulator from the modern world there. What's ASMR I keep seeing it?
Autonomous sensory meridian response. A tingling in the top of the scalp that spreads down the back of your neck and shoulders. I haven’t experienced it from any video marked as asmr, but I do get a very peaceful feeling from this one.
❤❤❤
I don´t know if your kitty is a male or female, but I have one exactly the same in colors and manners. Mine is a 14 years old male named "Jack" and he sleeps in the same way, purrs in the same way, clean up himself in the same way, and bites in the same way when I pet him... Lol...
Would you be able to leave the text up a little bit longer, it goes too quickly for me to read it fully. I hope that is okay to ask, I do read at an average speed. Still loving your posts. 🙂
Do you sip your tea or just pour it into the cup?

Thank you for not stomping around. I’m very sensitive to that kind of sound/noise.
one simply does not clang their spoon around their teacup when stirring their tea, nor clunks the remaining tea from their spoon onto their china, but simply flicks it back into the cup!
This video helped me. It made me more present in the moment. All this technology drives us away from the small pleasures in life.
Yet technology brought you this video
