During a certain time in my college days, I faced verbal harrasment from my male classmate in the name of comedy. I personally told them that I am not comfortable with him and that comedy. But he continued doing the same and did same to other female classmates, they were visibly uncomfortable with it.
At certain point, I confronted him publicly in reply to him "making fun" of me. But no one asked a word, instead said "Poor guy, he has become so sad and faced humiliation since morning".
I was simply blown away. That's when I realised only you can protect your peace and must stand up for yourself.
