I just had the same thing happen. Found it very suspicious that it happened right after AFM delete because of a lifter failure.

Put transmission in M5 or D5 deactivates AFM.
Free.
No change in fuel mileage.

It might still do test activation coming up to stops. I'm not sure on that. Also, tune only cost $50 plus a little shipping to just drive normal again.
Btw, the vehicle this was on didn't have m5 or d5 it's a 4l60 transmission.
