Ezra's cheek is looking better, your blanket sleeves must be working!
Slowly, but surely ❤️
Power failures are the loss of electrical power network supply to an end user. ⚡️🔌
So true ❤️
@@7Aheadfamilyyou should go to church
Agreed! We do. We might do a day in the life on that sometime here soon. :)
Hi 👋 guys ,
If I didn’t have electricity for the day I’d miss the vacuum cleaner 😅 we have 5 cats & vac the living room carpet twice a day as the cat hair gets everywhere!
Poor Ezra , get well soon hunni ❤
And well done Simon , his talking is so good 😊
And I love that you teach the children scripture ❤
Thank you ❤️. Yes, vacuuming is important. We are glad in this home. We don’t have any carpet though. Saves a lot of time. 😊
6:28 Enjoy your new warm jacket in good health Adam. Looks very cozy and warm.
How is Ezra feeling?
Power outage story: Power went out during zoom class and we couldn’t finish the lecture. The next day, no power so we couldn’t upload homework.
Dad (Adam) is an amzing cook!
Thank you so much ❤️. Ezra is getting better! He should be going to school today. 😊
When my 2 boys were preschool age, the power went out. They went all through the house trying every switch. "This one does not work either!"
Right, that’s exactly how Simmons was. 😊
Have you tried a pool noodle to stop Simon falling out of bed? Stick one under the fitted sheet and it helps kids not fall out of bed without taking up a bunch or room or costing lots.
That is a great idea! We ended up buying a rail thing for him, but that option would have been a lot cheaper. 😊

Where are used to have a power outage about six years ago when we had a snow storm? Our power was out for a couple hours so we had no TV no water and of course no lights. I know how it is when there’s a power outage often times you just have to wait for the power to come back on usually car outage. Is it a really rare but the most common reason for power allergies is gusty winds, and sometimes lightning storms
Thank you for your insight!🩵🩵🩵
The two power outages I remember the most are the one during Hurricane Gloria back in the 1980s and the one that affected most of the East Coast in 2003. Fortunately where I was at the time the power was out for maybe a minute or two. On the rest of the East Coast the power was out for anywhere from a few days to a week. The one during Hurricane Gloria might have lasted as long as two or three days, but I’m not sure exactly how long because the days sort of blended together back then. That was one of the longer ones that I remember. When the power goes out these days I miss Hot Water, TV, and the Internet the most.
I miss hot water too!
ihave power outage like when the power goes out i cant even play on my computer and then my parents have a high percent of chances they need to deal with meltdowns
Thank you for sharing❤️
I remember when I was Simon age I was scared of the dark so when the power goes out my dad would play a game with the flash lights and you make animals with your hands I remember that
Such a great idea! Thank you for sharing ❤️. We’ll have to do that next time.
So glad to see Ezra's face looking so much better those sleeves are magical, will definitely be stealing your idea. Poor thing is still sick :( i hope he feels better soon feel like hes been ill for a long time 😢 glad to see his little smile though 😊.... Hope the power comes back soon and Simon isnt to scared of the dark. How did you guys know before hand that it would go out? Do you get power cut warnings across the country? 😅 We only know when everything goes off and nothing charges.
Simons so adorable with the light and heat thing on your coat , what is the device does it make the coat warm!? If so i want one lol my main trigger for overload is clothing and heat and i hate how heavy warm clothes are if i can make a cool coat warm that would be amazing.
Such a lovely family, watching you guys makes me so happy , i always catch myself stimming while watching 😅
Hahaha simon and ezra having so much fun making a mess with those cards 😂 i used to make lines of all my teddies everywhere all over the house and they would follow each other in a line first one moving first and it would be literally hundreds of snaking teddies over lights, up shelves and i would literally have meltdowns if anyone touched them so everyone just had to leave them , but there journey had days it normally took a week for them to get all the way round the house and back into the toy box 😅 only for me to do it all over again the next week , drove my mum bonkers for sure hahaha but i was never happier than when i was doing that, even now as an adult i line up everything , they dont have to follow each round the house anymore but it does make me feel uncomfortable if any are moved 😅
Hope everyone enjoys the lovely BBQ 😊 and that you all had a great time even without power 😊 looks like everyone loved the meat
Woooo three cheers for the electric returning 😊 glad you guys made it to the end without anything to bad happening and that you are all safe.
So happy to see ezra slowly recovering hopefully hes over the worst of it and recovers quickly.
Sorry i definitely rambled again , just woke up and brain organisation takes a little bit 😅
You’re good! Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️. Yes the coat is awesome, there is a link in the description where you can grab it.
I think the worst I've had was when, about 10 years ago, there was some type of hurricane or tornado and we lost electricity for 3 to 5 days( I forget exactly how long). It was long enough to no longer have any cool air inside so, we had to sleep in the basement since the rest of the house was way too hot (it was in the middle of summer I think). I don't remember much about it since I was 9 or 10 years old back then but, I remember that we had to sleep in the dark basement and I was afraid of the dark, it was really hard for me.
Your jacket looks really warm, Adam. I might need to try to get one for this winter especially since I work outside in all types of conditions (a snowstorm won't stop us from working, some of my colleagues have worked in the middle of tornados, and I've just been lucky to have the biggest storms happen on my days off).
Wow! 3 to 5 days is a long time ❤️. Yes, the coat is really nice. Very happy with it.
Thank goodness my autistic children are older. Having the power go out isn't that big of a deal to them. However, the last time our power went out it was still a pain because it was out for many hours. Everyone was complaining about being hungry and hot because we needed the A/C and didn't have any. We got in the van and went out because we couldn't stand the heat anymore, but by that time the power came back on.
My family and I don't have the luxury of staying home for church because we are traditional Catholics. Therefore we must go to Mass every Sunday and holy days unless we are unwell. Otherwise, to miss Mass is considered a sin against the third commandment:"Remember thou keep holy the Lord's day." So, home church isn't a thing unless a priest comes over. It's impossible to have a Mass without a priest.
Happy Sunday. 😊
We do “home church” and go to church every Sunday. That is where Adam was going when he put Simon in the car. I stayed home with Ezra only because he was sick. ❤️
Trust me! I hate power outages too! so Ezra and Simon are not alone!
Yes! They are not alone!
1. 0:04 is my reaction when I shut down mentally.
2. I hope Ezra feels better soon :( my friends mom and her youngest child got COVID. They are both better now thankfully.
3. As a kid when the power would go out I would do little kid stuff (crying, complaining, usually about the WiFi cutting out). We last lost power during hurricane ian for half a day (14 hours) and I kept my iPad on me so I could draw without power (by leaving it on airplane mode and low power mode, I did the same with my phone)
Continued my dad had some charging bricks that could be used with the power off so I used those to charge my devices (switch, phone, and iPad). I have offline apps and games I play, as well as music I can listen to offline.
❤️❤️❤️ thanks for sharing! You know the tricks to conserve your battery power. ❤️
Nice! Some great alternatives. 😊
Qalmart has the bar you attach 2 the bed 2 prevent him from falling outta bed & there 25$ or less & they do the job without the need of extra stuff on the floor taking up most of the room. Get a PO Box so ppl can send your family stuff..
Thank you! Yes, we did end up getting a bar for Simon so he doesn’t fall out of the bed. Here is our PO Box.

i think the cause of that power outage may have caused by a vehicle accident which would involve a careless driver crashing into one of the power poles
That is a very specific guess. In this case, the electrical company simply told us that they were updating things and needed to turn it off for that long.
My craziest power outage happened when I was 10. A severe ice storm hit my entire area causing branches to break power lines. No power & heat for 10 days, school was cancelled for a week, living off ham sandwiches, my only entertainment was my Gameboy Advance on AA batteries (needed daylight to see it) only playing a Mario game I got two weeks prior. Got a runny nose from the frigid temps & recovered once the heat was back on.
Fast forward to June, had to make up that lost week of school, which was the first time I heard about make up days & found annoying.
Wow! That was a crazy experience. Much more exciting than ours. 😊 I am glad ours wasn’t in the winter like that. That would be crazy.
Feeling better soon Ezra and I love you 7 ahead family 😊❤
Thank you ❤️
@@7Aheadfamilywhat can you do with Ezra feeling better 😊❤
Everything! He went to school all day today, so that was great. :)
@@7Aheadfamily ok 👍
❤️❤️❤️
How does Ezra do with handling bath time? He looks like he could use a good warm bath with some of the vapir bath stuff, its like vicks vapor rub smell & you add it 2 the tub & the smell opens them up from all the congestion.. I bet he would feel better after, but idk how he is with baths..
Thank you, yes, he loves them. We have done several and he does enjoy that.
@11:10
Great job
❤️❤️❤️
Hopefully you're OK
Yes, thank you ❤️
Having no power would definitely be a challenge for a family of 7! You were very prepared though.
Yes! Thank you!
Being with out power is not fun
I think Simon might be afraid if the dark and that is why he likes sleeping with you .
I used to be scared of the dark
Yeah, may be a little bit. 😊
What help to get over being afraid of the dark?
I used to be scared if dark right up to 2017, when I was in mental health unit 8 month I would have treasured dark room ,but you had to have a light outside your room basically do staff could check you were still alive and weren't trying to harm yourself. So when I moved to my sheltered housing where I live I treasure the dark and it has to be total dark not o nick of light I discovered with bpd and now with proble autism a dark room calms my meltdowns. any stimulation isn't good for me at these times, total darkness helps me to sleep my flat in complex is upstairs where as all my adult life I'd been in a bungalow and people can break in and it was terrifying ne once mum died, now being upstairs and a secure entrance system and fire doors etc, I feel safer and in hot weather and sometimes in winter I had window open all night, I'd definitely go frantic if we had no electricity and I couldn't go on my computer's outages here would be extremely unlikely as the complex has a back up generator.❤❤❤
Having a night light helped me a lot and saying a prayer before going to sleep . The fear went away as I got older .
Glad your in a spot with a back up Generator!! Thanks for Sharing. ❤️❤️❤️
I dont now hsve that problem cos the sheltered housing where i live has a back up generator funnily enough even mum was alive if we were sat watching tv and power went out i think my mind went hayeire to these hortor films where someones home alone and someone gets in then lights go out and when mum died odd twice when electric went off id go up to ftiends house and spen d night there i font think its a sutism thing with me as much as a deep anxity catrisphic thinking
Thank you so much for sharing!
If the electricity goes out, I think I would have a bad day because I have no wifi when the electricity goes out, I need wifi for pc for watching videos and playing games(yeah I like to playing games)
I like vanilla too, it's sweet for me
Yes! That makes it tough. Not having electricity. ❤️
Do any kind of joint-stability / motor skills / hypermobility issues run in your family?
Such things are often comorbid with autism, and Marie's pose at the table at the end is very familiar, it's the whole "if there's a nearby object, lean on it" thing that I've been doing for as long as I can remember, and in general the way she carries herself in a lot of your videos suggests that, like me, she tires easily when holding herself upright unsupported (joint stability or muscular weakness in the back?). You have a short about 5 videos back where Ezra is looking incredibly comfortable in the kind of contorted pose that I found comfortable before age and weight gain reduced my flexibility, and I've also seen Simon in poses that I often took up at his age (I think I recently commented on a video where her was lying on his side playing with a train).
It's interesting what looking through old family photos and your educational documentation will do. A year ago I wouldn't have noticed all this, and wasn't yet really conscious of my own motor and postural habits. Now I see kids (and adults, but adults can be better at hiding it) acting in certain ways, and there's this sense of recognition that wasn't there before; "Hey, I do (or did) that!"
Thank you for sharing and pointing that out. That is fascinating. I might have to look into that but I don’t know much about it.
Was it a planned outage? We had a planned outage for 8-9 hrs last sunday nov 12 2023.
Yes it was. 😊 which made it nicer. 😊
If I hadn’t had my ipad or laptop charged i woulda gone crazy. At least i had data somewhat and could tether the laptop to the ipad to share the data. But it never was strong enough to watch videos. But i had movies and tv shows i had downloaded on an external harddrive. But if I hadn’t had all that I woulda gone crazy.
Right! Crazy how much we need that nowadays. 😊
Although it is good to disconnect every now and then. 😊
❤❤❤❤❤ love you guys
Thank you ❤️
Love you too ❤️
@@7Aheadfamily 😀 have a good day
@Young_r700 thank you!
You as well!👍❤️
Weird question, I know. What size are your cereal containers?
They say they fit 24 cups. I think that’s just over 5 L. They fit two boxes of cereal in there perfectly so it is very satisfying. :-)
@@7Aheadfamilythank you.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
We ourselves didn't lose power (though we knew invent of people who did), but Texas came within 5 minutes of an extended statewide outage, as detailed in this video from Practical Engineering: ua-cam.com/video/08mwXICY4JM/v-deo.htmlsi=KlYkhj1BxeV7Q7qs
Wow that is crazy!
What national park were yall going too? 1:08
I do not remember.
Aww
❤️❤️❤️
Who stayed with Ezra when you went to church?
I did. I we t yo choir practice I. The morning and took the older kids with me and they stayed there and I drove back home and switched Adam so he could go and take Simon to church, and I stayed home with Ezra. It was kind of a confusing day. But we made it work. -Holly

7 Ahead - Why Was You Guys Power Out All Day Had It Been Because Of Being Behind On Bills , Power Transformer Disruption , ETC ?
That’s a great question, I don’t even know. They were working on some thing.
Simon’s counting pretty well. I remember I was in kindergarten (age six) before I could count this well.
I am impressed with his counting too. We are working with Ezra to recognize numbers and point to them.
How many meltdowns does Ezra have a day could you be honest?
Ezra usually has about three a week but he can have up to five a day❤️❤️
