    Hi there. Looks very good. Am i right that this has a smooth bore barrel? How does it compare with the Umarex Colt SAA on accuracy?
    Cheers.

    I bought a Schofield recenty in the BB version and was not impressed with the accuracy or grouping. Changed the barrel and cartridges to the .177 pellet version with the Barra barrel kit - much better accuracy and grouping. I'm not getting approx. 2" dia. groups at 25 feet. It's a great plinker and fun to shoot but it will never be a target pistol for two reasons - the sights are non adjustable (mine shoots low and to the left) and the fact that I think that these cartridge revolvers are inherently not capable of great accuracy. The pellets are loaded into the rear of the cartridge and when fired have to travel through the length of the cartridge before entering the barrel. The cartridges themselves have some looseness in the cylinder chambers and the cylinder may be slightly out of time with the barrel. These guns are well made but there is simply too much play in the pellet travel from the rear of the cartridge to the barrel mouth. I now own three revolvers - the Webley MK VI, the Negant and the Schofield. All are fun to shoot, are very realistic in weight and feel and make great tin can plinkers......

      Yes they are certainly not target pistols but plinkers and great for tin cans etc. I certainly do not but c02 replicas for accurate target shooting. The pellet version is better but I have been able to shoot pellets from both the BB versions of Colt SAA and the Umarex 'Cowboy' Rifle with good effect and much improved accuracy.

    Does your schofield have a slight barrel wobble/play? Mine is brand new and has some, its not visible but can be felt when putting the gun down for example.

      No. Mine feels really tight. Do you mean the inner barrel?

    • @kubasu
      @kubasu 22 дні тому

      @@richwhilecooper Not the inner barrel, there is a little bit of play at the big hinge that splits the two parts of the gun when it breaks open, I can feel it move a little bit when I place the gun down and the barrel touches the surface first (or when I purposely try to move the barrel side to side but I tend to avoid that). Maybe the hinge screw is loose or there isn't enough oil in it.

      @@richwhilecooper alright, thank you for the response

      @kubasu 22 дні тому +1

      @@richwhilecooper Tightening the screws on the hinge helped, 90% of the play is gone, adding shims would probably completely remove it, but im probably just nitpicking.

    Love the Gun but tooooo expensive ❤

      They are not throw away money for sure, but they are well made and functionally fun to use. There are cheaper models which are ideal for peoole new to the hobby or on a tighter budget, that are just as fun to shoot.
