My car came with different coilovers, what if the rear doesnt have the little washer thingy that prevents the coilovers to go all the way up into the car
Man , thank god I found this video. I was super confused in regards to the oem top hat and coil over spring plate.. So the oem bearing washer is the only thing you need between the two components ..
Is there a reason why my shock mount has play after following the instructions in the video? Should I try to tighten the top bolt again when the car is sitting on the ground?
There are a couple things you'll want to check. Give us a call and we will run through some troubleshooting with you. Our number to call is 801.365.1440.
It sounds like there may be an issue with the one spring. Give us a call and we'll get a replacement to you as soon as possible. Our number to call is 801.365.1440.
Bit late but e9x shape all sit lower on drivers side rear from factory if rhd you can adjust the coilover 10mm higher that side and will solve this or buy the rear spacer that sits above spring
There was play in the top part of the coilover after tightening it with an impact and after installing it going over bumps there is a clunk noise anyone know what the problem is?
It's hard to know without seeing it first-hand, but from our experience, it's likely worn upper mounts. Especially if they have over 50K miles on them, they likely need to be replaced.
We use a torque wrench in short, one second bursts to tighten it. The piston will spin each time you hit it, but the top nut will eventually tighten with each hit.
@@racelandsuspension we tried for three hours to use an impact and the nut would only get down to the nylon and then the rod would just spin. The strut mounts for the e90 are weird shaped and we can't fit a wrench in on the nut. Kind of lost here
@@racelandsuspension how can it be adjustable from 1-3 inches if the rear aren’t adjustable? I’m thinking of buying these but the main thing that’s putting me off is the car being too low
Our recommendation would be to adjust them to 10 inches from center of bolt to bolt. You will want to adjust them equidistant on each side then use the jam nut to lock them into place. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions! Our number is 801.365.1440.

Yes. You'll need that piece for sure!

I bought a car with ST coilovers on it. Car is too low for me, so I have to figure out how to raise the back.
Thanks for the clear and concise video!

I have installed ultimo coilovers and on one side the rear is max hight and the other side if as low as it goes is there a reason for this

You can adjust the coilovers to account for any difference.
Are the 328xi coilovers supposed to come with end links too?
Yes. They do come with end links.
My kit did not come with end link bars. Do I need to purchase separately?
They should have come with sway bar endlinks. If you didn't get them, give us a call and we'll get those out as soon as possible!
Raceland got it taken care of. Thank you.
Great video! Good job!
Can I add camper plates instead of the OEM mounts ?
Yeah. Any camber kit that will work with the stock struts, will also work with our kit.
@@racelandsuspension awesome thanks for the reply .

@@racelandsuspension would it have anything to do with not using the big black ring that sits on top of the mount and underneath where the bolts go
Does it have to be oem top mount?
The are designed specifically for the OEM mount, yes.
It’s 2006-2012 I think will it work for 2013?
We haven't had the chance to fit test the 2013, so we wouldn't be able to confirm.
Any recommendations for spring weight preset
And having a hard time trying to tighten the top of the front struts

What did they end up telling you I’m having the same problem
@@ethanchampeau8830 you ever figure it out? Having the same problem
You can use an impact wrench in short one-second bursts, or use an Allen head wrench in the center of the piston to hold it while tightening it down.

What’s the need to remove the fender liner?
You'll just need a hex bit to remove the fender liner.
@@racelandsuspension I understand that, thanks. I meant why do you actually need to remove the fender line to complete this job?
Sorry for the confusion! You need to remove it to get access to the underside of the mounts.
Does this fit 07 328xi?
We don't yet have a kit for the XI, but we'll keep you posted.
On the fronts when you impact the top bolt on is the top hat supposed to wiggle like in the video or be firm
It will be loose until you tighten it. When it is tight, there shouldn't be any play.
@@racelandsuspension there is still play after tightening it with an impact what should I do?
Do the rear shocks have adjustable height?
The rear shocks themselves are not adjustable in length but the overall ride height is adjustable from 1-3 inches below stock.
Raceland so you can go higher than stock ?, only lower it ?
They are made to only lower the car.
That is an issue with your pre-load. You'll need to adjust the pre-load to 5mm.

Grate stuff 🔥
What if u don’t have an air compressor
You can rent spring compressors from your local auto parts store or just replace the upper strut mounts with new mounts.
Does the kit for the 07 Bmw 335i e92 fit the e93?
Yes. They will fit the E93 without any issues as long as it is not an XI model.
Yaaa fuck getting a bmw 😂😂🤦🏽♂️
is a strut carrier gasket recommended?
They aren't required but they will certainly help protect the body of your car from additional wear.
