Thanks to the polluted air in my base slimelung spread rather fast and I’m pretty sure that a lot of my shoes have it in them. I just hope that not too many get sick at the same time because I have to get the plant for the med kit, so I won’t have to worry about expanding my hospital and focus on treating the people who do get sick
3 thimble in hydroponic farm tiles will handle the effluent from a single shower, lavatory and sink combo. With ease. No germs will spread. Super early in the game. You even get a decor bonus from the thimble wherever you build the farm tiles. No germ pool. You lose the bit of water, but is it really worth it to disinfect that bit of water? To be honest the thimble technique is just all around much less of a headache for me. It can of course scale with however many such latrines you feel you need and just having 1-1-1 latrines like that prevents most traffic jam issues. It's actually very good to have compact wash room like that on every 2nd level or so of your base since it lowers the time duplicates have to spend climbing up and down for the loo/shower. And hey... snazzy suits for everybody! :) I just leave the loom on continuous. Also. I mine slime biomes from the bottom up. Slime biomes are filled with polluted water pcckets. I let that drop into a big, wide pool of polluted water that I build. 2 tiles deep is enough, but I usually go for 4-5 to be safe since sometimes you get huge inflows of water from all those polluted water pockets.. So then you just build a horizontal "climbways" with ladders over that and tall ladders up every 5 tiles since you can mine 2 out from a ladder. It doesn't take long to mine out an entire slime biome like that. And since all the slime falls down and is submerged they do not emit any infected polluted air after you mine the blocks. Sure the water still emits polluted air, but... Once I've hit abyssalite at the top I leave that for insulation and build a deodoriser at the bottom. Regularly space deodorisers are important since the oxygen and polluted oxygen form these alternating layers if you don't. Once a biome is cleared out you can just go into collection mode and process/store your slime any way you see fit. In the end all that water is a huge source of clean water since it is not infected with anything and you can just sieve out the pollution and cool it down adequately. All nicely accumulated. So so much gold. Almost too much gold actually. Also good amounts of sedimentary rock which makes good feed for hatch ranches for coal. The best though. Slime biomes are normally not too hot or too cold to handle. Much closer to the goldilocks temperature than other biomes. Oh.. and all the early algae. Well worth it. Having 30t of algae before you've even built a single electrolyser just eases the pace of the early game a tad. Nice tip for storing the slime in a chlorine cave though. That's super! Since I've been wondering what the best way to clean my slime is.
Thimbles do make a great way to get rid of polluted water. The problem I'm often having is not having enough polluted water! Great idea for mining slime with the capture pool at the bottom. I should probably spread my bathrooms around as well to limit travel time as you suggest.
Oh don't get me started on travel time lol. Out in the field a rando outhouse is all they get. But... Every cycle. Dupes rush off somewhere. Then a bit out... Hunger. Go back. Then they rush out again. Then a bit out... Toilet. Go back. Rush out again with a third of the cycle gone. I mentioned about the shower, but I actually don't enable mine much :/ They are the worst way to ensure a digger will go out, mine one block, rush back to shower. Etc... Etc... I mean it's not like one can build a super duper large airlock right from the start of the game. And the algae just never last long enough. You just have to go out and mine more. Would be nice if dupes woke up, at breakfast, took a toilet break, and then went out. Shower when they get back in the evening as a way to boost sleeping stress relief. All I ask. It's not a spa. It's do or die out there! lol Anyway... They're still working on the game - Hopefully they'll have these things sorted.
I never played the game so I am just researching beforehand. I am wondering if it is possible to make Chlorine liquid and pump it into a thin pool instead of water (clean or polluted). In this theory it could disinfect anything dropping into it as well as the evaporation would keep the air clean too. In life −101.5 °C is the melting point of chlorine. Don't know about the game mechanics :D. Either way I believe it would take huge loads of energy and loads of cooling thingies around the pool to achieve this, even if it worked in the game.
thks your video is really helpful good job .For the clean water with germs if I understand good the cold temperature can deal with it ,cause turn it into steam is a bit pain in the A... .
Clean water at any temp will kill germs at 3%/cycle I think. Hot or Cold water increases the speed if I can remember. You can use germy clean water for toilets/showers/sinks/plants... really the only thing you don't want to do is put it in a microbe musher to make food.
Can you revise this guide? Some of these things got revised(like the infected algae on the Deoxidizer not releasing infected oxygen for instance.(this killed one of my colonies lol)
The best way is still to just use the abundant hot and cold sources all over. The chlorine only works if it is used in specific devices. (Storage-containers and hand sanitize stations and the "mineral scrubber", which slime isn't a mineral.) Flood a room full of slime-lung, with anything other than CO2, and it grows and spreads. However, flood a room with sub-zero CO2, or Hydrogen... Or super-hot... and it dies without consuming your gasses, which you can still work-in, to a point. Where do you get heat for an emergency flooding? Right from your biggest heat-source, that never has slime-lung lingering around... Your power-station, which will enjoy the cooler return of fresh air from the building. The heat will eventually disappear. Easier than flooding things with precious or contaminated liquids, or dealing with limited toxic chlorine gasses. You get freezing cold air from most "vents", even the hot ones. Below the vent is a super-cold sub-zero tile. Insulate around the whole bottom, but leave a thermally conductive block with a thermally conductive pipe running through it. Insulate the return pipe going to the base. In the event of an outbreak, you simply build the last segment of pipe, so it starts flowing. (Or get fancy with a germ-counter and pressure-valves, etc.) This also works if you just pipe it through a cold biome. They are perpetually cold, mo matter how much heat you force into it. Just like hot biomes are perpetually hot, and can't truly be cooled, without having unlimited resources. (Honestly makes insulation a pain. Totally irrelevant in a hot biome, unless you want to trap heat in!) Two things that this game needs... Actual "flowing gasses", not just "diffusion" from high-pressure to low-pressure, and hot/cold convection, which is irrelevant to diffusion. (Hot just makes gasses stay mixed longer, without separating well. Same as what happens in still-air, at high altitudes, where the air is low pressure.) Nothing actually "flows"... The pretend animations are nice, but that isn't what is happening in code. It is just checkers with fixed-pieces yelling at one another, averaging and swapping values, as opposed to sliding actual pieces around and across the board. The whole system completely breaks at around 2Kpsi, where you can watch oxygen and polluted oxygen just get confused. Polluted oxygen should rise, but it ends-up floating in the middle of two packs of fresh oxygen and cold is on top, with hot sinking down below. (It if fails at 2K, that is why it is also failing at normal levels. The higher pressure will just show you what is breaking, and why it isn't working on lower values.) Now I know why it floats in one part of the base and sinks in the other part... as well as why my tiles are always 10-deg hotter than the air on both sides of them, for some reason... (or 10-deg colder, at times. It depends what hour of the day I started the game. :P)
Slimelung dies in clean oxygen so deodorizers are all I've ever needed. I doubt at this point they will change the core tile based physics engine for gasses. I could be wrong but they really need to optimize what they have before making major changes.
1 more way would be to store them in a container that's submerged in water - that doesn't let the slime spread. You can then use it to fertilize mushrooms, so the slime is used for food (use water for O2)
one time my game glitched, and a duplicant got stuck inside a pharma chamber, and on that time i had some oxygen management issues and the duplicant suffocated to dead 10/10 would cure duplicants again
Excellent guide! I think one useful bit of info that was missing was exactly how efficient are deodorizers? Like how many do you actually need for heavily invested areas? Thank you
I had no slimelug at all in my base but then I was making a room for my coal generator. Then one of the people glitched inside an incredibly toxic area so we had to dig it out. Now slimlug has taken over my research room this is early game btw
Going in is ok. just take it slow and process the slime into algae outside your base and store excess slime in a container underwater. use a chlorine room or ore scrubber to clean any ore that might have slimelung. also use deodorizers to clean polluted oxygen. slimelung grows in polluted oxygen but dies off in clean oxygen.
I've been having a similar problem in my current colony. It is possible to dig around the slimelung, your dupes should be able to dig right up to it and still not end up getting it on themselves and carrying it back to the main colony. That's assuming there are big enough gaps between the slime tiles for them to get through of course. Hope that helps a bit! Fortunately, I have just found a steam geyser on my map. Unfortunately, it's behind a huge mass of slimelung and poluted oxygen pockets swarming with slimelung. Gonna be a dicey but water is low so I have to start digging it now. I love this game!
I don't even think that's what's bugging me. I think it's the fact that the tiles are at diagonals, and the textures don't properly connect, making it look like gases would just leak out. The efficiency bugs me now though... So, you might have made it worse. lol.
Hmm. I always used the chlorine tumbler to try to kill all the slimelung germs on the slime before attempting to refine it, but now I think of it I bet it would be better to throw it in the refiners completely untouched, then tumble the pdirt and algae, on which the slimelung will be dying anyway. xD The only other thing is germs in the pwater that comes out, but so long as that doesn't get thrown in the electrolyzer no one will care, so why not sieve it and use it for plant growing? Slimelung is scary, but I'm liking this idea. :P
@@GrindThisGame Hmm, temp is a good point. I have wheezeworts, shouldn't be too hard to make sure its cooled off. Good to catch that before it becomes a problem.
I never had the game pre-launch, but i can tell you that the chlorine "trick" does no longer work with clean water in the version i have , but with germs in it, like you get when you clean polluted water with a water seve to make clean water. The germs stay in the water even if its clean. I dumped that water in a chlorine place and it kills the germs, but so slow that its not worthwhile.
honestly I hope they add more diseases it seems they Nerfed slimlung alot. I barley have to worry about cause it does so little as long as your base is filled with oxygen.
Yeah on default settings it's not too bad to deal with. For new players that just jump into slime biomes it can be deadly. On the hardest settings it presents a minor challenge :)
@@GrindThisGame i recently bought this game today. Had some CO2 issues but a second algae machine and i managed to pressurize it into the designated co2 hole i made. How do you get a stable water source in the long run? I dont want to do super computer research just yet without being sure i can have a stable source of water.
I don’t know if what i’m doing is a good idea, but I store my slime in the room with my polluted water and use deodorizers and it supplies my base with oxygen. By the time the oxygen diffuses out of the room it has something around 1000 germs so nobody gets sick either.
great video. if you put slime in storage in a chlorine room, the germ would be destroyed but slime would gradually turn into PO2 and contanminate the chlorine, right? isnt water best to store slime?
Correct..it will dissipate over time but I think at a certain air pressure or dissipation this stops. I'm not sure exactly when though. Storing it underwater stops the dissipation for sure and maybe is a better way. I'm not sure if the germs die while stored underwater. Never thought to look.
it dies slowly in water. One way is to store them in chlorine first then transfer them to water storage. Or one could use an orb scrubber to clean the slime first, then put them under water. Obviously, you have alege production, thats probabaly the best way haha. Thx fro the video
we can use conveyor belts now to disinfect cool and heat materials now, i wander how much time/tiles u would need for it to disinfect 3 million germs altho, u could automate the ore scrubber, it would be useful to use energy from other environments...
yeah I wonder if the ore scrubbers can be used without dupes. I guess you could set up an assembly line to move germy stuff through walls directly to a chlorine room now.
Is there a way to make sure that duplicants don't take algae and slime out of the chlorine chambers before the germs die out? The only thing I can think of is to use a clock sensor and to keep the chlorine room as full as possible.
The germs die on chlorine gas very fast so it might not be required. There are germ sensors but they don't help much with solids. A clock sensor could probably work well though.
I use chlorine rooms with liquid reservoirs and a valve to kills most germs then i have a manual water reservoir which also has chlorine and it manages most if not all germs at times because when the valve is set to anything under than 40 and the res gets full the germs die thrice as fast meaning that the water in the liquid res will eventually have 100% germ free water
Your vids are very helpful. Unfortunately for me, I seem to keep getting the shaft with the seed generator. I'll get a few drops of clean water, one section of copper, 80% dirt and sand, surrounded by slime biomes, and a big Fk you abyssalite encrusted among slime biome just to add salt to the wound. Iron and coal usually end up deep in heated territory right behind abyssalite just to tease me.
Try seed 666. Don't be afraid to get in the slime. Just airlock it off, use deodorizers and store the slime underwater until you need it for algae or mushrooms. You can also kill the germs in the slime in a chlorine gas room.
@@GrindThisGame took your advice and slowly crawling my way in the slime, not much too much to complain about in that area, thank you for the advice. The new problem however abyssalite; klei pretty much made it useless for early/mid game it seems, and as per usual, there's more abyssalite than iron or gold...
Hey man this is intresting, i deal with the germs of food poison with heat i have a place to por the purificate water so i can rise the temperature, then release in the big pool of clean water, my problem is that the water rise the temperature xD sorry por the bad English i'm from Argentina send you hugs from here
This is why I don't heat up water. You then have to deal with all the heat. If you just set the clean water sit a while, the germs will die. Your English is fine. Hello from Canada. :)
What happens if there a dupe with negative trait:imunodefficiensy and it make the dupe with this trait can get sick by even using outhouse/lavotory and can be dead in 4 and a half cycle if not treated quickly and if the dupe got sick his inmune system will drop by rate -25%/cycle
Hey, I've been playing for a while now, and slimelunh use to die on water, but now I have contaminated water infected with slimelung and its not dying. Any clue?
really good tutorial... maybe you can halt me with a problem. i have a geyser which spits out polluted oxygen with heaps of slimelung in it...i tryed to to clean the oxgen with deodoriser and i end up with 5000-10.000 germs...then i cooled down the air to -50°C and it vent out with still 2000-3000 germs. =( is there a better way to clean the air? or can handle the dupes this amount permanently? i really whant to use this free oxygen
You could have a series of rooms where you clean it until the germs fall to a certain level and then pipe that semi clean air into another room until the germs are dead...then only pump out if germs < n or = 0. A passive way might be a long (short) room that has deodorizers every 5 tiles or so. Pump the dirty air in one side and the pressure will push the air along to an opposite side as it gets cleaned. At the other end the air should be clean.
thanks for the fast help...after analysing the "vent", it says: eruption every 60 cycles for about 15 cycles...i just make the room big enough with heaps of deoderisers around the vent...the time will do it and when its clean i open the airlocks and a fresch breeze flows through the base (if the room is not big enough the pressure will be over 10kg/tile)
I have the following question: Will running piping through a room filled with clorine kill the germs inside the piping? Similar to storing the water inside a liquid reservoir within a room with chlorine? Or does the clorine even affect the water within the reservoir/ piping? Given the piping is indeed a closed pipe, it shouldnt, logically. However i tried it and the germs died pretty rapidly. Now im not so sure and i think the germs are dieing pretty quickly naturally.
I dont know if this is possible. So the dugged-out slime gave polluted oxygen for essentially nothing. Then you can use like deodorizer to get a pure oxygen? I don't know if I catch this correctly. Anyone know if this possible and whats the downside?
That works but a faster way is to turn the slime into algae and use that in a algae deoxidizer. Just make sure the slimelung in the algae is dead before using it or you'll get slimelung in the air. You can store algae in chlorine to kill the germs almost instantly.
Hey is it true you can use chlorine gas and some pipes to kill the germs off? Like apparently that chlorine gas kills the germs and when 100% of them are dead it turns to normal water. Then you can reuse that water as its clean.
I thought 10 minutes long game guides & tutorials were troublesome. Then I started playing Oxygen not included... I bet first one who will stick to concept of talking less, but being more productive will get entire audience from other "streamers"
How do I get rid of food poisoning? I know dupes has to wash their hands after toilet/polluted areas and can store food in chlorine. But somehow i've managed to get food poisoning around the base? How do you deal with it, if you fail to prevent it in the first place.
You can force them to disinfect everything or lower the automatic disinfection amount. Once you have sinks outside the bathrooms the germs will generally die off unless it's in the food.... then you need chlorine gas.
It removes the grimy debuff which doesn't actually do anything right now. I don't think it removes germs (have never actually looked). I think it also removes the soggy feet and soaking wet debuf (which makes zero sense unless it's the nice warm water doing that).
I have problems with water. How do you build such a huge setup and not have water problems? Everything uses it. Is the game designed to deplete all the resources?
There are steam and water geysers which give you unlimited water. Lavatories give out more polluted water then fresh water in so it is also a source of water which can be sieved into non-polluted water.
When I put slimelung in a storage in chlorine, it still let out polluted oxygen infected with slimelung (that eventually overwhelmed the chlorine gas in the area) D: is this suppose to happen too?
HI again i have 1 request. if you or if you want. if you dont like no problem please just say :NOOO :) can you upload your game save or your template debug mod to us?
Here is my latest save of the pyramid base (hit download button for the save file) : github.com/GrindThisGame/OxygenNotIncluded/blob/master/giza23.sav When I made the germs guide it was a bit earlier but I basically just load up the save and turn on debug mode (record) and then throw away the changes.

I know lifegrowski (lifegrow) recently set up a oil cooled sleet wheat farm that uses conveyors to automate most of it. He's on twitch and youtube.
Make a layer of clean water on top of the poluted water! This will prevent poluted oxygen from forming :)
Oh yeah I forgot about that trick!

Either way I believe it would take huge loads of energy and loads of cooling thingies around the pool to achieve this, even if it worked in the game.
first time here, very good video and you're extremely chill to listen to. had to sub to be sure to check out more
thks your video is really helpful good job .For the clean water with germs if I understand good the cold temperature can deal with it ,cause turn it into steam is a bit pain in the A... .
Clean water at any temp will kill germs at 3%/cycle I think. Hot or Cold water increases the speed if I can remember. You can use germy clean water for toilets/showers/sinks/plants... really the only thing you don't want to do is put it in a microbe musher to make food.
So it's better for me to clean it in cold biome before use it for microbe musher thks have a good day
Can you revise this guide? Some of these things got revised(like the infected algae on the Deoxidizer not releasing infected oxygen for instance.(this killed one of my colonies lol)
I'll see what I can do. The game changes so often it's hard to keep up :)
(Or get fancy with a germ-counter and pressure-valves, etc.)
This also works if you just pipe it through a cold biome. They are perpetually cold, mo matter how much heat you force into it. Just like hot biomes are perpetually hot, and can't truly be cooled, without having unlimited resources. (Honestly makes insulation a pain. Totally irrelevant in a hot biome, unless you want to trap heat in!)
Two things that this game needs...
Learning about this game is like going to school.
Great video, great pace of explanation. Now I know not to rush mining the slime :)
Thanks. Yeah it's not to be feared but respected :)
Ada: *For science!*
1 more way would be to store them in a container that's submerged in water - that doesn't let the slime spread. You can then use it to fertilize mushrooms, so the slime is used for food (use water for O2)
Ooops did I forget to cover that?
one time my game glitched, and a duplicant got stuck inside a pharma chamber, and on that time i had some oxygen management issues and the duplicant suffocated to dead
10/10 would cure duplicants again
Wow! No wonder why all my duplicants died...
Yes! Slimelung is a pain, just got my base infected in lower levels
Excellent guide! I think one useful bit of info that was missing was exactly how efficient are deodorizers? Like how many do you actually need for heavily invested areas? Thank you
I think the game info tells you how fast they convert. I usually only use 1 per 10-15 tile radius and that works.
Great tutorial! Maybe next one about farming?
Ok. Thanks for the suggestion. I have one for decor/stress next but will probably do a food growing one after.
I had no slimelug at all in my base but then I was making a room for my coal generator. Then one of the people glitched inside an incredibly toxic area so we had to dig it out. Now slimlug has taken over my research room this is early game btw
i would suggest to put a air scrubber to clean the air as well.
But... my base is actually SURROUNDED by a slime biome, I HAVE to go into it to advance the game.
Being surrounded by a slime biome means I have no access to chlorine.
Thanks for the info anyway, It was very useful.
Some great guides, thanks you. Glad I came across your channel.
You're welcome Bituminous Bear. Hope they are helping.
I don't know why your pyramid styled base bugs me so much, but it does.
It's not very practical.
I don't even think that's what's bugging me. I think it's the fact that the tiles are at diagonals, and the textures don't properly connect, making it look like gases would just leak out.
The efficiency bugs me now though... So, you might have made it worse. lol.
need updated tutorials and guides for the new release of ONI please.
slime water makes good plant food if it's at the right temp
@@GrindThisGame Hmm, temp is a good point. I have wheezeworts, shouldn't be too hard to make sure its cooled off. Good to catch that before it becomes a problem.
So good to get this slimelung info :)
Thx for your guides.
U do great.
In that chlorine room you had if you mine the bleach stone but do not remove them they will keep the room filled with the chlorine.
Yes if it is perfectly sealed.
honestly I hope they add more diseases it seems they Nerfed slimlung alot. I barley have to worry about cause it does so little as long as your base is filled with oxygen.
Yeah on default settings it's not too bad to deal with. For new players that just jump into slime biomes it can be deadly. On the hardest settings it presents a minor challenge :)
What if you disinfected the WHOLE map from slimelung? Would you never have to deal with it again?
It completely dies off but you gotta remove the sources as well like slime and morbs...and pufts that poop slime etc.
@@GrindThisGame i recently bought this game today. Had some CO2 issues but a second algae machine and i managed to pressurize it into the designated co2 hole i made.
How do you get a stable water source in the long run? I dont want to do super computer research just yet without being sure i can have a stable source of water.
Here is how you deal with germs: Don’t
yeah they nerfed it!
Yay! SoupSandwich!! Love that guy!
Thanks for another great guide!
I don’t know if what i’m doing is a good idea, but I store my slime in the room with my polluted water and use deodorizers and it supplies my base with oxygen. By the time the oxygen diffuses out of the room it has something around 1000 germs so nobody gets sick either.
Yeah that would work fairly nicely. And with the new germ sensor you could only pump it if the germs were lower than a certain amount.
A Hatch, or two, kept in a bathroom will eat the polluted water bottles and also the dirt after the dupes have cleaned the outhouses....
Yeah they are good little poop eaters.
Nice but I'd much rather heat the polluted water killing the germs and turning that into water.
the Ore scrubber is really nice if you have a chlorine vent somewhere
I don't really use that anymore after trying it. I prefer to just store dirty stuff in a chlorine room.
great video. if you put slime in storage in a chlorine room, the germ would be destroyed but slime would gradually turn into PO2 and contanminate the chlorine, right? isnt water best to store slime?
chlorine kills much faster, does not get infected, but it will vaporize/dissipate over time, or deleted
Thx fro the video
we can use conveyor belts now to disinfect cool and heat materials now,
i wander how much time/tiles u would need for it to disinfect 3 million germs
altho, u could automate the ore scrubber, it would be useful to use energy from other environments...
yeah I wonder if the ore scrubbers can be used without dupes. I guess you could set up an assembly line to move germy stuff through walls directly to a chlorine room now.
Relatedly, what happens if you pipe chlorine gas into a slime biome? Kill all exposed slime germs, I'd imagine...
Extremely helpful. Thank you
You're welcome :)
Much appreciated. Great vid!
So would it be possible to pump chlorine into an area with lots of slime and wait for the slime lung to die off?
I guess so. I just leaned if it is over 1.8kg of pressure the slime won't give off polluted oxygen as well. Not sure if that is accurate though.
Another tutorial. 😁 Yay!
great video, thanks!
No problem :)
What happens if there a dupe with negative trait:imunodefficiensy and it make the dupe with this trait can get sick by even using outhouse/lavotory and can be dead in 4 and a half cycle if not treated quickly and if the dupe got sick his inmune system will drop by rate -25%/cycle
use the germ overlay to show it grow!
Hey, I've been playing for a while now, and slimelunh use to die on water, but now I have contaminated water infected with slimelung and its not dying. Any clue?
I havent seen it in water. cold or hot or pipes in chlorine may kill it. dupes can eat slimelung without any bad effects...they just cant breathe it.
I hope they won't fix metal tile cooling, I really need that.
really good tutorial...
maybe you can halt me with a problem. i have a geyser which spits out polluted oxygen with heaps of slimelung in it...i tryed to to clean the oxgen with deodoriser and i end up with 5000-10.000 germs...then i cooled down the air to -50°C and it vent out with still 2000-3000 germs. =(
is there a better way to clean the air? or can handle the dupes this amount permanently?
i really whant to use this free oxygen
You could have a series of rooms where you clean it until the germs fall to a certain level and then pipe that semi clean air into another room until the germs are dead...then only pump out if germs < n or = 0. A passive way might be a long (short) room that has deodorizers every 5 tiles or so. Pump the dirty air in one side and the pressure will push the air along to an opposite side as it gets cleaned. At the other end the air should be clean.
thanks for the fast help...after analysing the "vent", it says: eruption every 60 cycles for about 15 cycles...i just make the room big enough with heaps of deoderisers around the vent...the time will do it and when its clean i open the airlocks and a fresch breeze flows through the base
(if the room is not big enough the pressure will be over 10kg/tile)
Slime lung sounds so scary
I have the following question: Will running piping through a room filled with clorine kill the germs inside the piping? Similar to storing the water inside a liquid reservoir within a room with chlorine?
Or does the clorine even affect the water within the reservoir/ piping? Given the piping is indeed a closed pipe, it shouldnt, logically.
However i tried it and the germs died pretty rapidly. Now im not so sure and i think the germs are dieing pretty quickly naturally.
I haven't tested since the last update but water in reservoirs used to work if they were in a chlorine gas room. Maybe pipes are all you need though.
@@GrindThisGame thanks for the quick answer :) much appreciated
I dont know if this is possible. So the dugged-out slime gave polluted oxygen for essentially nothing. Then you can use like deodorizer to get a pure oxygen? I don't know if I catch this correctly. Anyone know if this possible and whats the downside?
A lot of effort and time waste with stoking the deodorizer with sand, which is finite. Just efficiency sake.
That works but a faster way is to turn the slime into algae and use that in a algae deoxidizer. Just make sure the slimelung in the algae is dead before using it or you'll get slimelung in the air. You can store algae in chlorine to kill the germs almost instantly.
One way to go to area of slime
Are there limits to Germ counts on objects?
21:10 Hilarious that you can actually prescribe placebos in this game.
I have seen 100 million...
6:20 lol remember when we humans in real life used to BATHE in chlorine water?
thank you very helpful!
Hey is it true you can use chlorine gas and some pipes to kill the germs off? Like apparently that chlorine gas kills the germs and when 100% of them are dead it turns to normal water. Then you can reuse that water as its clean.
I'm not sure if just pipes work now but if you put liquid tanks in chlorine gas the germs die.
@@GrindThisGame Oh OK thx a lot dude i love your videos and tutorials, they're helping me a lot.

Yeah this video has done very well:

How do I get rid of food poisoning?
I know dupes has to wash their hands after toilet/polluted areas and can store food in chlorine.
But somehow i've managed to get food poisoning around the base?
How do you deal with it, if you fail to prevent it in the first place.
You can force them to disinfect everything or lower the automatic disinfection amount. Once you have sinks outside the bathrooms the germs will generally die off unless it's in the food.... then you need chlorine gas.
and now there are 3 germs (slimelung, food poison and flower)
zombie spores is 4
@@GrindThisGame sorry forgot it
Do showers do anything for surface germs?
It removes the grimy debuff which doesn't actually do anything right now. I don't think it removes germs (have never actually looked). I think it also removes the soggy feet and soaking wet debuf (which makes zero sense unless it's the nice warm water doing that).
Well...it should?
I have problems with water. How do you build such a huge setup and not have water problems?
Everything uses it.
Is the game designed to deplete all the resources?
There are steam and water geysers which give you unlimited water. Lavatories give out more polluted water then fresh water in so it is also a source of water which can be sieved into non-polluted water.
Most resources are renewable.
When I put slimelung in a storage in chlorine, it still let out polluted oxygen infected with slimelung (that eventually overwhelmed the chlorine gas in the area) D: is this suppose to happen too?
gotta overpressurize the room, is my thought. It should stop off-gassing at that point.
do you just debug your way through the game?
No, but I did use debug for the tutorial. I have in the past used the unlimited materials (control-f4) for some sections of very long pipe though.
Poor Ada... 😪

If you have slimelung, you can’t get it
HI again
i have 1 request. if you or if you want. if you dont like no problem please just say :NOOO :)
can you upload your game save or your template debug mod to us?
Here is my latest save of the pyramid base (hit download button for the save file) : github.com/GrindThisGame/OxygenNotIncluded/blob/master/giza23.sav
When I made the germs guide it was a bit earlier but I basically just load up the save and turn on debug mode (record) and then throw away the changes.
