While I love the historical videos on Mapperton and restoring the manor, these fun videos and watching you two interact just make my day. As for the egg sandwiches, I am from the southern US, and our egg salad sandwiches have eggs, mayo, S&P, a touch of mustard, and a bit of sweet pickle relish.
Egg-cellent suggestion, this is how we do it in south Louisiana as well-spicy Creole mustard, a dash of cayenne, & heaping spoonful of homemade relish makes for picnic perfection (works for chicken salad, too!) We have hens so free-range eggs are always on the Bill of Fare.
“Zing” 😂(a little mustard makes it 👍)!! You two are too funny and, Julie, I just love your speaking voice! Always so clear and articulate with humor added to it!
This was a fun video! To add to your egg salad sandwich, I use plain Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise a bit of Dijon mustard and watercress and dill.
I laughed so hard even watching this the second time! My husband thinks I’ve lost it but the joke’s on him because I’m planning a trip from North Carolina so we can stay and visit Mapperton 😁
I agree! Would love to see the two of you (notice how I avoid using "you guys"--one of my pet peeves) working with a digger to restore the stream around the island. Silt actually is a great word for the fine sand/clay mixture that builds up to block the water flow. Mud or muck seems like a better term for the stuff that mired down you and the crew.
you guys are lovely/adorable/quirky/hilarious - love all your adventures + Stephen & Claire's adventures - you are all more fun to watch than anything on TV!!! Keep the adventures coming!
I didn't get all the ingredients in Luke's sandwich so it's possible I might have liked his best. Was that green onion I saw him chopping? that sounds great for egg salad sandwiches. I really do think that American name best conveys the idea of the sandwich.
You two are absolutely adorable ! Congrats Julie on that good ol' American coordination and bravo Vicount for that Glorious return. Love you both to the moon and back.
You both have your own personality, which you both respect and cherish about eachother .From love to competition to understanding to sweet arguments to being patient to sharing your own personal stories with each other ,touch wood, this is how I want my relationship to be and i will wait till I find someone like this .
Oh my goodness! As a writer, I just keeping thinking what a hysterical romantic comedy this would make (sort of an Emerson and Amelia type story in the Amelia Peabody mystery-style). Lol, the dashing Viscount offers to take her on a picnic, but the beautiful Lady Julie discovers it is more of a hazardous wilderness trek. He strides into the swamp with vigor while she follows behind, struggling with stinging nettles and the enormous picnic basket, and getting slightly more horrified by the minute. Lol. I love these two. Also, yes to a small amount of mustard in the egg salad, and yes to the digger. I can I can only imagine the drama that will ensue.
Then later Julie is the one to go over the bridge to the Island first. We never did see Luke try the Tarzan bit. My guess is that the vine wasn't sturdy enough to hold him.
Thank you so very much for making me laugh! My mother was an avid follower of your channel(s). She passed in October of 2022, and I miss her dearly. She is the reason I am a subscriber, as I feel her while watching your videos. She adored you both. ❤❤❤
😂. That looked fun! Gave me a good laugh today. Julie is definitely spot on. Have to have some mustard in that salad. A little pickle or banana peppers are good too.
To answer the question at 10:00 YES Julie should surely do the digging job at the silt. She already has her hip boots to do the job. She also needs a good pair of working gloves and an overall to prevent her of getting dirty. I am curious how the little stream will flow again into the pond. It might encourage other people to do a similar job at their streams.
I laughed so loud in this episode! You two & Camera folk are so funny! I’m laying here alittle under the weather so watched today. Hugs all from New Zealand 💛💐🐝🍯
I'm enjoying watching the elegant life of the British Aristocracy. Seriously though, the amount of responsibility involved in running a place like Mapperton was something I had not thought of before finding this channel.
lol @ " I don't think I needed the waders" this was so funny and Luke's voice got faster and faster the more anxious he was...this was like a "Carry on Sandwich" movie
A visit to swamp island, complete with stinging nettles and flying insects! Such a perfect idyllic romantic outing! Uh, NOT! Bless you both (or actually, all four of you!) for having such a great sense of humor! I'll wait for the dredging and bridge building and nettle clearing first! Great video, and thanks for the head's up on Stephen and Claire's Scotland trip! Off to view it next!
What would be amazing would be a video on Lord Hinchingbrooke's mother and her story about her becoming a Countess and joining the family ... whenever I look at this channel all I think is what a lovely memories you are documenting for your children, grandchildren and family to come , to look back on. Another great Idea would be an interview with Lord Sanwich and his recollections as a child in the family and of some of the earlier relations he knew growing up !
Thank you Luke and Julie (and Stephen and Claire). From the moment I saw this one on my UA-cam I knew it would be a corker. Romantic picnic! It was more like a trial of endurance, but most English picnics are. Picnics on UA-cam take place in Paris by the Seine or in one of the Parks or Jardins. The partakers are smart and attractive (you tick that box) and the food is crisp and delicious. The English picnics of yore I recall did involve trekking miles (or it felt like it) through brambles and nettles only to find all your food prepared at home that morning had gone soggy and unappetizing but you ate it anyway. This was fun. Be nice if you could tidy up a bit then maybe you could make a nice secluded picnic area for your visitors,be quite popular I would think. I went to see the white horse at uffington this weekend. I also tried to find Wayland's Smithy but as befits a magical place of mystery it was too elusive for me to find. I don't think I'm at the right spiritual level.🌳🌳🌳
I LOVE this, y’all crack me up! I am just loving all your videos, thank you so much for the entertainment and you have a beautiful home. I just absolutely love and enjoy the history
She should wear them more often. They're practically her trademark look now! Seriously, Deltanord waders are very good value for the money and actually work out cheaper to buy than Le Chameau's wellies.
Great job Luke getting back over the bridge. You two are so adorable. Julie I make my egg salad the same way but I also add in some relish. Give it a go. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
We have just been watching your very funny and entertaining video and how you reached your 'island' to be able to have your picnic.Haven't laughed at a video so much in ages! Your picnic sounded amazing but we would not have used mustard in the egg mayonnaise! We will be watching Stephen and Claire's videos later. Congratulations on your Tube award! We just love all your Mapperton live and American Viscountess' lives' - so much more enjoyable than many TV programmes! Have recommended them to friends too! Please continue to make them as we love the historical interest ones too on Mapperton and other estates in the UK. Best wishes Christina and Nick Findell, Crediton, Devon UK.
Oh my goodness you guys are hysterically funny. I love watching this channel now because of the hysterics know I love watching the channel because of the history behind mapperton live love it
I like it that you 2 are down to earth. So am I. That is the way everyone should be. I just wanted to tell you Julie your husband is very funny. It's good to have a man that makes you laugh. I like you guys. And I enjoy watching you 2.
The two of you are such a hoot! 😂 Julie, you are spot on with the egg salad...definitely a shot of mustard. NO to the celery! (sorry, Luke) It changes the entire taste and texture. Off to boil some eggs now!
🍁 i have never put mustard and relish in egg salad, i will have to try that.
Agree 💯% with the needed mustard and relish
Yes, touch of mustard and sweet pickle relish along with the mayo and S&P makes perfect egg salad
What is S&P?
Egg-cellent suggestion, this is how we do it in south Louisiana as well-spicy Creole mustard, a dash of cayenne, & heaping spoonful of homemade relish makes for picnic perfection (works for chicken salad, too!) We have hens so free-range eggs are always on the Bill of Fare.
I’m not sure how romantic this was, I can say without doubt it was an adventure.
I laughed and might have snorted a few times!
OMG! Luke getting stuck...I'm dying!!! LOL!
Most laughs I’ve had in a while! Thanks to the Ricky and Lucy of royalty! We love you for this and both egg salads looked delicious!
Ricky and Lucy! I love it! 👍🤣
One of my favorite ones of all your adventures. I really enjoyed all the snide comments to the camera!
Ricky and Lucy!! Love it!
"The Ricky and Lucy of royalty" is the perfect description for them.
You two are a “HOOT”❣️❣️❣️
Always can count on Luke and Julie to make us laugh. Loved this guys. 💕🇺🇸
Never a dull moment watching the two of you and your many adventures.🤣
Thank you so much for the best laugh I’ve had in a long time. You two are hysterical. 👏🏻👏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job all 4 of you with crossing on the logs! Your egg salad looked delicious!
“Zing” 😂(a little mustard makes it 👍)!! You two are too funny and, Julie, I just love your speaking voice! Always so clear and articulate with humor added to it!

🤣🤣🤣that was all too funny 😂😂😂 oh Julie, “A really romantic picnic everybody” hahaha. That last mad dash by Luke was wild!😂😂
I feel for Julie. My husband would also think this was romantic. Well done Julie! 💚🇨🇦
OMGoodness!!!! This was soo funny. 😂😂 There’s never a dull moment with Luke and Julie.
Hilarious. You two are just wonderful. Thank you for the laughs.
I hope we can see that pond and stream restored. How delightful to have such an adventure on your own estate.
I agree! Would love to see the two of you (notice how I avoid using "you guys"--one of my pet peeves) working with a digger to restore the stream around the island. Thank you!!!
I agree with Julie about the mustard. Though I do also add either sweet pickle relish or diced sweet pickle.
I agree and a dash of mustard and pickle relish is good with deviled eggs as well.
Same with me for both. I sometimes even use honey mustard for a sweet kick and sweet gherkins!
I like finely diced celery and onion, and bits of green olive
The more I see of Luke, the more I really like him. He’s soo funny and I LOVE the determination to get to the island!!!!!!!
You two are simply adorable. I appreciate the laughs, and love seeing more of the estate. Julie was very brave with approaching the calves.
You two are absolutely hysterical!! I’m with Julie on the egg salad. It’s all about what we grew up with eating. ❤️❤️❤️
So good!
I didn't get all the ingredients in Luke's sandwich so it's possible I might have liked his best. Was that green onion I saw him chopping? that sounds great for egg salad sandwiches. I really do think that American name best conveys the idea of the sandwich.
Okay, that was hilarious! Good job, all four of you!

You guys are great together!!!!! Natural comedians at best❤️
Right up there with Lucy & Desi🤣
Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend👍🏻😊
Great episode! Happy every one made it to and from the picnic spot without any injuries!
Yes, a zing of mustard in egg salad.😊 A little minced onion is good too. Luke, you got it right on peeling eggs, too. Love your videos, thanks.
The look on her face when he picked up the celery 🤣🤣. Don’t say tomato 🍅
This is a hilarious video.
That hard "t" sound at the end is so British and "Tomadough" is so American.
what a lovely vibe these two have together! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this video.
I am just imagining your kids watching this in years to come & going... "Oh my gosh... What were they thinking?" 💛 In the sweetest way.
You both have your own personality, which you both respect and cherish about eachother .From love to competition to understanding to sweet arguments to being patient to sharing your own personal stories with each other ,touch wood, this is how I want my relationship to be and i will wait till I find someone like this .

Start writing, please. We need a new FUNNY sitcom.
I was laughing so hard I could not contain myself this was the best ever …U2 are great together!
Then later Julie is the one to go over the bridge to the Island first. We never did see Luke try the Tarzan bit. My guess is that the vine wasn't sturdy enough to hold him.
Laughed my socks off at the 'bridge' crossing and the way Julie screams all the time 😄

Hysterical. Love your adventures
this is my comfort episode. I'd love to see the island when the water freezes around it 💚
I laughed so loud in this episode! You two & Camera folk are so funny! I’m laying here alittle under the weather so watched today. Hugs all from New Zealand 💛💐🐝🍯
One of the best videos of you two yet!!! You go Julie with your bad ass self and egg salad sandwich!!! You guys rock!!

What a wonderful couple ✨✨✨
That was GREAT! I would never have done this but you guys knocked it out of the swamp.
This was hilarious. Thank you. I was enjoying the American Viscountess videos, but this is even better. Your interactions are so much fun.
Oh dear I couldn’t spot laughing, romantic has a whole new meaning, bravo guys, you made it.
What riot!! There are so many lovely spots in the Mapperton Gardens for a lovely picnic. Interesting choice of this swampy island. This was fun.
Just love the two of you together...always entertaining and fun. I put mustard, mayo, and celery in my egg salad.
Love it!!! Being from Wisconsin, I used mustard in my egg salad as well.❤
Love it!!
I never laughed so hard! Not near long enough you two. ❤️❤️❤️
This was so entertaining Luke and Julie I was laughing all threw the video. Please do more of these fun and funny videos once in awhile.
Laughing so much made my day, bravo to both of you, you’re braver than me.
This was truly so funny! Indeed I laughed too! Lots of love xxx
I am laughing out loud!!! You guys are so fun. No alligators…. Wonderful. 😂😂😂

Thanks for watching!

Great job Luke getting back over the bridge. You two are so adorable. Julie I make my egg salad the same way but I also add in some relish. Give it a go. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
A small bridge should be added to the projects list. The island is a lovely destination!
Ive really enjoyed every single minute this episode!
A breath of fresh air! Thank you for maintaining pride in who you are . Sincerely Renae Ferguson / Texas 👵🏽🎶💜🙏🏽
Julie exercising her American We Can Do It! spirit---you go gurl!
What an adventure! I laughed so hard. Thanks for letting us join you on your picnic.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Vous êtes drôles et tellement adorables! Meilleure avant-première pour le sandwich aux oeufs 😎❤️🇨🇦
This was a ridiculous and hilarious endeavor. Well done!
Hope you both can be there for the digging!
Hilarious. You guys are so much fun.
You two have to get a comedy show!
I would definitely watch that!!
You just kill me! The two of you together are so 😜 silly

Look out for the dodgy bit 🤣 love the adventure some best moments are not over planned
True, but I suspect this lack of planning may have had more planning than we think!
You two are hysterical! That's a crazy lunch not at all romantic. lol
I love watching you guys it’s always entertaining 🤣❤️
Fun, fun, fun! Egg salad sandwiches - LOL, I use both mustard and celery, with a bit of scallions, s&p. Sometimes a bit of dill or tarragon.
The two of you are such a hoot! 😂 Julie, you are spot on with the egg salad...definitely a shot of mustard. NO to the celery! (sorry, Luke) It changes the entire taste and texture. Off to boil some eggs now!
I love you both thanks for the great laugh! From Canada
Our pleasure!
My vote is for Egg Salad with Celery! Oh, and a little mustard. Funny video… my husband asked me why I was laughing. You two crack me UP
