Enjoyed the video! My trolling motor just got done installing and I just picked it up. Man it was a lot more than I wanted to pay thought. Came out at $2600 with the motor, better charger, batteries, new tires, and a few other things. But the people who worked on it cut the price down by at least $400. I got the installation done at boat Stuf in Slidell and they did a really nice job installing it. And the people are really nice too. Just letting people know if they’re looking for a trolling motor.
Went out Sunday in hopedale wind was crazy strong and steady. Drove about 40 miles from launch all over hopedale/reggio area but couldnt find any clean water. So was back at hopedale marina at 930 am calling it a day. Going to try again this Sunday coming..
I started fishing in Louisiana about 2 months ago and since then I have been watching your videos and let me tell you that I have learned a lot from you! Thank you so much for this channel. I know you like to teach people how to find a good spot for fishing but would you share the name of the marina you launch from or the area in general where you fish? I went yesterday to Bayou Bienvenue (honestly as a foreigner, this is the only spot I know and have been to!) and it was brutal. We caught one legal size trout, 2 undersize trout, 1 undersize redfish, and 1 gar fish).
I sometimes discuss specific areas if I think it's germane, but generally I focus on tactics and techniques that work anywhere. BTW, don't get too down about your slow trip. It's part of the game, and we all have them. Learn from the experience and try to focus more on what the conditions are giving you.
Ok thats like an improved alberto knot, i do use the alberto n this basically saves one step of coming back up with your wrapping..... fishermen's name is shin fukae, i had to go look him up lol.
I’m jealous of the fishery y’all have there Todd! Here near cypremort point in the south central part of Louisiana fishing is so hit or miss. Trout only really bite from September till December only if the water is good. After that they are hard to come by until next year. Thanks for the awesome videos man, you channel is by far my favorite on UA-cam!
Great videos Todd, especially your videos catching bass. I'm retired now, let's hook up, i love to fish I'm not hard to find perry matherne your boat or Mine🎣🎣🎣
Top water seems to be the Bane if my existence!! Is there a proffered knot to use that will stop my lure from catching my line I normally use a cinch knot just because I don’t know to many other ones thanks for any help love your vids Marsh man.
Marsh Man Masson yes I do.not very handy with the different knots I’ve attempted the fg knot but I still have some perfecting to do because it’s failed 95 percent of the time
Love those jerk bait bites. Captained my grandson and another student in high school tournament on Toledo Bend this weekend. Tough fishing. Good memories.
Hello MMM I’m thinking about getting a new trolling motor and considering a Minn Kota that uses a remote so that I can have the spot lock feature and also think it would be useful for fishing from the back of the boat like you often do. Can you tell me what you have or would recommend? Note I often fish in tighter spots so I was wondering if you think the speed and ease of steering would be an issue versus a hand controlled motor? Also want to build casting platform and I think a remote controlled motor would be great for that.
Mine is a Terrova, and although the remote took a bit of getting used to, it's now second nature to me. I don't even look at it. The downside to the spot-lock is that it has some wild swings in gusty winds in tight spots. The motor will rocket in one direction, realize it over-corrected, and then rocket back. Other than that, I can't think of any negatives.
Marsh Man Masson thanks for the info. That may be coming soon for my boat. I’m fine using my marsh anchors if I decide to anchor in a small cut. I was considering the spot lock for bigger ponds and open water, rather than pulling out a deep water anchor.
I love to catch these trout in Gulf Shores. I’ve been told that they have to be eaten the same day they are caught. I’ve been told the trout don’t freeze well. I live on Lay Lake in central Alabama and catch a lot of Spots and Large Mouth. When I filet the fish I freeze in water in freezer bags. The fish will keep almost 2 years. I try to eat by 1 year, but I have kept for 2 years without any issue. Any longer the water seems to freeze dry. Would the specs freeze as well as say bass or crappie?
Good stuff! Love the trash talking with Justin! That’s pretty much the same thing we do when we get on the boat.
Todd,
Your editing skill are getting better with each video.
thank you for the inspiration.
Looked like a modified Albright knot, what I use and like. Thanks for another great video!!!
_Great Video Congratulations Fisherman, this place is incredible._
*Hug!* 👍🎣

As always. Thanks for the detailed location information...... someone has to give you a hard time
As always, you're welcome

Thanks Man for another great video!! I can't thank y'all enough for doing what y'all do!!
As always enjoyed seeing both of you catching fish there..👍

just got my first redfish of 2019 last week when very few people believed me theyd be here this soon. epic video makes me miss trout!
I also just caught my first redfish last weekend wading on south padre island tx.awesome feeling

I've fished over your way only a few times, and always in the fall. From what I hear, it's a really good fishery when it's right.
Going to have to give these jerkbaits a try. Need to get this new cooler dirty. Thanks for another great post Todd.
Awesome. Gonna try that knot. Still a fan of the fg or the uni but ya never know
I used the Shin's knot this weekend in a bass tournament, and caught a 4 and two 3s. The knot held up well.
Great videos Todd, especially your videos catching bass. I'm retired now, let's hook up, i love to fish I'm not hard to find perry matherne your boat or Mine🎣🎣🎣
That's almost the same knot I tie, I'll have to give it a shot.
What area did yall fish? Where did yall launch out of?
Top water seems to be the Bane if my existence!! Is there a proffered knot to use that will stop my lure from catching my line I normally use a cinch knot just because I don’t know to many other ones thanks for any help love your vids Marsh man.
Do you tie the lure directly to braid?
Marsh Man Masson yes I do.not very handy with the different knots I’ve attempted the fg knot but I still have some perfecting to do because it’s failed 95 percent of the time
Look at that dink!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 gotta love the trash talking reminds me of me and my uncle on the water.
Poor Justin. Always jealous of everyone else's fish.
Albright knot. Used to tie two dissimilar, diameter lines together that is the correct name. Works very well
Can you post dates that you film the vids? I see the publish date, but I was just wondering how long ago it was filmed. Thanks
Almost all of my videos are posted within one or two days of shooting.
As for the knot....as a newbie is that tied to the end of your fishing line to attack bait, sinker, floater, etc.?
No, it's to attach a mono or fluorocarbon leader to braided main line.
Love those jerk bait bites. Captained my grandson and another student in high school tournament on Toledo Bend this weekend. Tough fishing. Good memories.
Those TB bass moving up yet?
Not yet!
Nice bunch of trout there. I bet the topwater will turn on there for you soon.
One would hope, but I've been thinking that for a few weeks now.
Knot is just like the crazy Alberto. Been tying it for years, with only 5 wraps each way, its just as thin.
Justin has always been an Alberto fan, but says he now prefers the Shin's knot.
Crazy Alberto knot
What bait caster are you using ?

I don't freeze fish. I keep them in Ziploc bags surrounded by ice, and eat the fillets within two weeks.
@@MarshManMasson Do you 'zip-close' the bags after squeezing out the air OR ---??? John Castelluccio, Jr.
That’s called an Albright knot!
FG Knot is where it's at.
I fish the FG knot whenever I want to release fish with hooks and leaders still in their mouths.
Burn... 😢
I tie an fg variation for braid to mono and man if you don’t tie it just right it slips like crazy. No idea why.
They have a love hate relationship 😂
Do you bleed your redfish when you keep them just curious
No. I don't keep reds over about 20 inches, so there's really no reason to bleed them.
What color shadow rap are you using
Albino shiner.
Who makes your boat?

Marsh Man Masson kinda personal, would you buy another if you had the option? Looking into buying a boat for inshore and looking at all my options.

What type of jerkbait were you using?
Rapala Shadow Rap

Not usually going to get the best results on top water with those kind of winds... in my experiences
