I watched this video while sitting by the sorta Mickey Mouse shaped pool in Vero Beach lol. No lie. Crazy about the never built expansion. They kept the little lake across the street and turned it into a “nature walk”. But I had no idea more villas were originally planned over there.

I love unpopular resorts and theme parks. Having a space to yourself is infinitely more fun. I miss disney world during may. It was perfect!

As a DVC member I can tell you many days it’s impossible to get a reservation there. People sure like it now.

As a resident, it's kinda fun having a little bit of DW right up the road!

I dont know why Disney never understood the concept that people go to Disney because they like Disney.

My family has DVC (and lives in FL, I think that's a big part of it) and they go to Vero Beach every Thanksgiving. It's a nice getaway with no black Friday and chill vibes only.

I would love a DVC resort at a skiing destination. Especially if it was near a lake ( like Tahoe or Mammoth) then there would be year round attraction. They could revive the Mineral King concept and have a dinner show with the Country Bear Jamboree. I would also like to see DVCs at the foreign Disney parks.

As a dvc member I can tell you this is one for the best resorts. Such a laid back experience!

I stayed here in December 2019 using my DVC points and it was well worth it. It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Disney parks. But after having been a member of DVC since 1991 and having gone to all the DVC hotels I now use my points through RCI to travel the world for cheap.

I’ve only been to Vero Beach once - my wife and I stayed there for a weekend while we went to the city proper to get our marriage license. It’s a lovely place - I’d really like to go back.

We're DVC members and have been for 20 years. Although not one of our home resorts we love Vero Beach. It's nice to chill there for a few days after being at WDW.

I have stayed at this hotel four different times, with my DVC points, loved it.

The nature in Vero is what really is the appeal here. The kayaking tours are awesome let's you get real close to the awesome Florida wildlife dolphins manatees gators in a close up but safe way.

The real shame is they didn't have to sell off that land. A better decision would have been to use it to create an attraction, some reason to come in the first place. That's some hubris to assume you slap mouse ears on a timeshare and people would beat down the door to get in. Now make a small water slide park, or some HoopDeDoo style dinner theater, or even a small standalone attraction like Bear Country Jamboree and you can draw in customers. FYI, the Bear Country Jamboree was originally designed with Walt Disney's Mineral Springs Resort in mind, so the idea of every hotel having one attraction isn't that crazy, in fact, I wonder how they survive without one?

Lol this is my hometown, when I was a kid my mom would sneak us into the pool and we'd go on the waterslide for hours. I love this place, it's a beautiful resort. I have lots of friends that work there.

Our family stayed here when the kids were pre-teens, about 15 years ago. Organized and unorganized activities for them were great at the time.

This IS a catch 22 situation. If you know that dining/ drinking/ beaching going is the DRAW. It's a good choice. If you want the "full Disney Experience" Select a resort on property for your taste & budget. I stayed in the Dream Tower once @ the Disneyland Resort. It was fun & expensive (but i felt I might EVER get to do it again) I work hard & play hard in the service industry myself. But, I will tell you, being from Houston, TX. Galveston, TX is just an hour or so away from a major metropolitan city. I can "recharge" on my day off & relax/ eat/ play on the beach. Might even see a Disney Cruise ship leave in the spring.

We LOVE this resort! I’m a nothing UA-cam channel, but I have been posting vlogs about Vero the last couple of weeks. But this is one of my favorite Disney resorts!
