FINALLY got my hands on a Kitty Kat. Also, find the Sasquatch in this video and be the first to time stamp it to win a Ride More hat. It's a hard one!
U gotta post a video tomorrow 😢
I had a 72 kitty kat...my dad brought it home from work (he was a night club singer)...woke me up at 2:30am...had my first accident 10 minutes later... bought me a helmet the next day. Ahhhh, fun times.
Won the Feb. 1973 Rendezvous games in Whitehorse YK. at 5 y/o...I still have the trophy.
It ran on the power shots, so you have enough compression. The issue is lack of fuel. I believe fuel delivery is provided by gravity which is why the tank is mounted high. My guess is the needle is hanging up in the seat. You freed up the float, but did you blow air thru the fuel inlet while actuatiing the float up and down to see if the needle was free? I would pull the bowl off again and see if you have fuel. If you don't my money is on a stuck needle. If you have fuel in the bowl, then look at a bad crank seal. When you get it running throw some marvel mystery oil on the tank that will free up a stuck ring which could be why compression is on the low side
Jeremy, get the original engine running - might only need new rings and a more thorough carb clean. Save the other Kitty for the Predator 79cc.
These Kitty Cats are collectable enough I bet rings and gaskets can still he found. I would at least try the rebuild
My dad brought one home in 1979!! I rode over saplings and hit the shed lol. It went to my cousins who were much younger and whose dad was a mechanic. They all rode it. It sat in the mezzanine of their shop till I had it restored and is now with one of my great friends place being ridden by his boys. I got lots of the parts from eBay including the lift kit. His boys love it!!!
It is not a compression problem! The engine ran when you put fuel in the cylinder, so it is just not getting gas. The likely problem with low compression is not bad rings but stuck rings, which will loosen up once you get it running long enough to get it up to temp a couple of times. You could try putting a little diesel fuel down the spark plug hole with the piston at TDC and let it set for a few days. Likely what you need to do is, take the needle and seat out and make sure the passage from the fuel line and the seat is completely clear, and make sure the carb vents are clear or you could be getting a air lock, which will not let fuel into the carb.
I like your video's but there one thing wrong with them. There are not more of them!😅😅😅
Keep up the good work!
Those things are super hard to find glad to see that your fixing them
Absolutely! I've tried for a very long time to get one!
This is really cool. Can't wait to see the predator motor on that little thing. That should rip. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
Nice to get a new video from this channel. You started big this year...
I love how you pick them up, Its hilarious!
I'm sure you know those things are getting to be collector's items. Very cool you're keeping them alive. That old gas is probably still leaded. Lol
Jeremy. You can do a tecumseh 5hp carb upgrade on these engines. Also. Thats a 73 engine. 72s had metal tanks and a different carb. Also you can get deep powder lift kits for these sleds. They are worth the money.
He's probably guessing based off number on the side of the chassis as the Cat manufacturing date was a usually a year before the model year. If it's taged a '72, that means it's a '73 model.
Always a awsome day when Jeremy posted
always a good day when jeremy makes a vid
lets keep those kitty kats alive!! great video man!
Awesome video keep up the good work Job
5:58 right side of the screen Sasquatch!
I have faith you can get it running jeremy😊
I actually need to get 2 of these myself. I have twin kiddos that turn 2 on December 30th and next year I want to get them riding.
Those are really cool
Best shape kitty 🐱 that old I’ve ever seen people want $$$$ for them old ones my area
On the side of the butterfly there is 2 to 3 holes the size of a human hair. You have to run a wire through them or they will not stay running. Just put rings in it and run it.
Good to know! I'll check if they are plugged now!
I had a 78 was my first sled I loved that thing. Dad hated it because he had start it all the time.
5:39 in the woods
Where in the woods I see nothing
4:19 is the sasquatch
Is irony the code word for treat? Because that dog hauled ass as soon as you said it!
It may only have stuck rings aswell try putting some pb blaster in the cylinder and let it sit for a day and then clear it out and try it again you might be supised
Or SeaFoam
Those are perfect to just have in the house as decorations lol
On the kitchen table bro LOL
Thats funny. My friend had one of those growin up wheb we were younger. It caught fire and burned. Once the plastic tank melted that was it .
The one and only Arctic cat i owned was a 74 440! Lol. It was pretty quick back then, when it ran!!! Lol
So hilarious just pick it up outta the back of the truck 😅
My first snowmobile when I was 2 was a kitty cat
My first sled was a kitty Kay 😅 and hopefully my first brand new sled will be a catalyst😊
Think the oil to feul on that was 32 to 1 try putting a lil castor oil in the mix engine tolerances back then were way different then today
Did you try putting some oil down the plug hole. Might get you some higher compression
Hey like your videos I was fortunate to be in one 7 years ago in your snowmobile shopping vid I enjoy watching you guys fix sleds to running condition I just got a older sled runs and drives only with choke on half would it just need to have carbs cleaned to fix that issue?
Typically yes just clean the carburetor. Make sure you get all the passages are clean and open along with the jets of course. Lots of times people clean the jets, carb body and bowl, but forget the passages and the engine will run lean and burn either a hole in the center of the piston or the front edge of the piston(s). Good Luck!.
nice Kitty ,i think predator is perfect for that little kids sled probably better too
6:41 on the bottle
Brother, I ain't seen one of those since like 2014. I haven't been able find one ever since and even the one we had ran like crap.
I cannot believe it's light enough to pickup and put on your kitchen table. Holy smokes
Pine sol works good for cleaning carbs completely submerge the carb in the pine sol and let it sit for 24hrs
Lol yea buddy awesome
i believe i sw the yetti/sasquatch at 4:20
you win. in the corner above the door
I see nothing at 420 above any door lol
I see these kitty cats on marketplace up here every so often. None this good lookin!
if you end up not using a engine im looking for a recoil and possibly a gas tank let me know if your able to let those go thanks
At 5:58 in the woods
I cant believe your wife lets you work on the kitchen table like that. Your kids will love that Kitty Kat though. 😂
I remember them .
Spirit engine is made by Suzuki on the 78 the 72 had a Kawasaki
Those vintage sleds will usually fire up and work with very little effort.
Sitting for 5 years on an old sled is nothing. I've got an old Citation that sat so long the underside looks like Swiss cheese and it still fired up and moves 😂
MMMEEEEEEOOWWWWWW
It running on the power shot and running less and less every pull tells you your still not getting fuel.
no the power shot was over first die its getting fuel not well
Ya rings are likely stuck ..probably all rusted up..just fix it..not hard..see if you can find new rings or clean the ones up on it..some good black gasket paper...boom, bobs your auntie
i think it may be a little small lol
4:20
what sasquatch?
The only Sasquatch.
Isn’t it Samsquanch
10:59 behind the tripod on the counter?
To blurry to tell any sasquatch
It ran when parked
They ain't hard to find
Lol these were rode by kids not much use lol. I'll show ya a wheeler kids ride that will change your mind.
Sir that’s not a 2 stroke….
Bro you can't just give up on it not running wtf
Napa sells those fuel tank grommets. They fit lots of lawn mowers and sleds. Part # 707461D. Automatic Distributors sells them too #DP10672
