I am new to this also and would like to make some for a couple of birthdays next month. I am glad that it only took youtube 4 years to get me your instructions. I also think they are some of the easiest for me to follow. Thank you.
Love this video! I bought a batch of notepads to do a project like this but couldn't find my instructions, and then I found this video of yours - so much better than the one I was going to use! Thank you so much for your clear instructions and thank you for NO background music!

You can use bookbinding tape from Amazon. It comes in large rolls 2 or 2.5" wide - you'll need shimmer trim to extend the bound area. I have another video making the smaller size notebooks and it has an updated list of supplies
Patterned papers for covers 6 x 10; inside piece approx 11 3/4 x 8 1/2; sleeve 4 x 8; corner pocket 5 x 5; chipboard 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Check the playlist for my updated video posted this month using current products.

This is a wonderful tutorial. I am traveling to Paris and would love to make theses for all in our party. I think i would like to make the note pad open from the side and not the top. Any suggestions on paper pads and how to change the assembly? Thank you.
You could easily turn the sleeve for the notepad the other direction (altering the width for the height of the notepad) and then slide it in. A small spiral-bound notebook might work.
I’ve watched many videos of these pad covers being made and this has to be my favorite design I’ve seen. Thank you for sharing it with us. New subscriber and I’m excited to watch more of your videos. 😀

I'll look forward to watching more tutorials. Thank you for sharing. By the way, where do you get your glue pen?
Hi Cathy! Thanks for watching :-) I'm glad you've found this video helpful! My glue pen is a retired product from Close to My Heart, but you can find a comparable product from Zig at big box craft stores and Amazon. Look for Wide Tip Glue.
Thank you! Hmmm... I've never done a flap close, but you could probably add an additional piece of chipboard with a second strip of book tape to the back cover, and secure it to the front with magnets. You've given me some ideas!💕
I just stumbled across this video and love it! One thing--could you tell me all the sizes of your pieces. You talked low on this part and couldnt catch them all. Also that canvas tape is not available--I run across 2inch book binding tape--is that suitable?

@@dmhaight thank you for your reply, that search brought up 2inch tape. I think your UA-cam video was so popular there has been a run on the canvas! Do you think plain canvas plus glue would be okay to substitute for the sticky-back canvas?
The book binding tape would work or a wider version of it could also work. An option with plain canvas would be to use double sided adhesive with it - you can get Scor-tape in various sizes. (Liquid glue would be very messy and wouldn't have the right flexibility)
