My daughter (The Gypsie) had a Day Spa in Durango back in the 80's, we went out to help her do the finish painting . We took Wednesday off to ride the train up to Silverton, it was raining at 6,000 ft but turned to snow when we got up to 8,000 ft. When we got to Silverton there was 3 ft of snow, on May 15th. Went immediately to The Black Bear and sat by the pot belly stove to warm up with a bowl of Chili. There were two guy's on Harley's that game out of an AirBB and the seats had 12" of snow on them. She just came back east from Estes a few weeks ago where she was camped out with the KIFT crew. One thing about the altitude, two glasses of wine will put you over the fence! That was a good tour of silver ton thank you. We’ve buzzed by in our Promaster to wild camps in the mountains. Now I know to stop and look closer. Good job.
We take a small electric heater with us that we use for heat when plugged in to shore power. Saves some of that propane from the 5 gal bottle which is pretty small. Keeps the van warm if it's not too cold.
Ditto. We have a $25 Lasko mini space heater that we bought probably 10 years ago and it's still going strong. We're in Pinnacles NP right now in our B and it was chilly last night and we hauled it out for the first time this year.
We just finished our first trip in our van to NY and Maine (4,500 miles), it was great. You should add NY to your list of places to go. Watkins Glen state park and Letchworth state park, Amazing water falls. We also take e-bikes and it makes those hills at altitude easy. I enjoy your channel
Glad to see you’re actually getting to enjoy your time with Mr. Lemon. Hopefully he’s just as cooperative when he has to become mobile again on the way back home 😁.
If you don't mind a little tip.... You know how you had your eggs sitting in the bowl... Salt them about 10 minutes before you actually cook them... The salt keeps the protein in the yolks from binding and will give you fluffier, creamier eggs..But you need to let the salt sit in the eggs for about 10 minutes to completely interact with the yolks protein molecules. Give it a try. 😊 Yall be safe and blessed.
I lived in Centennial, CO, for many years when my kids were in school, and we loved camping in the mountains!! We found an old cemetery on Buckhorn Mountain somewhere around Fair Play, and there were markers giving details like died in silver mining collapse, died of mountain fever, died in a saloon gunfight, etc. All were in the mid to late 1800s!! There was an abandoned silver mine above us on the mountain also, plus a lovely mountain stream right next to where we pitched our tent. Was a favorite return spot to see the mountain in every season. Your video today brought back cheerful memories!!
This is great, another trip without Mr. Lemon causing headaches, I think you guys are on a roll. About the omnia oven, I saw on another youtube channel that they use two of the silicone liners to help with the burning problem. We are looking forward to next week's video, cheers!
I've never paid for a RV park or hookups, but if I did I sure wouldn't be using propane to cook/heat. (induction cooktop/space heater) . Come visit us in the great PNW (WA/OR)! We have mountains too, PLUS the ocean!
Hi guys! Really enjoyed the video!!😊 Every time we are in the (George)...that is the name of our Tellaro , we always remember what you have went through with Mr. Lemon....:))) I wouldn't say we are close to change the name yet ...but we are very close....In any way, the time spent on the trips, is worth to close our eyes on the time it sits at the lot of La Mesa RV......😪
Ugh! Sorry! Here’s to hoping George gets his act together and stays out of the service center. Sounds like George and Mr. Lemon would be great friends 😂 happy travels!
Enjoy the videos. Roads were not the kind I'd like with no rails and sheer drops. Did you leave it in drive when climbing the mountains or did you down shift or up shift to handle the grades?
:) THANKS MUCH for sharing! Great Video and spot, just did not realize prices had gone up that much :( Love that Hillary has found better dish-washing stance :) Altitude will definitely wear most of us out! ENJOY and safe travels! Cheers from Upper Left Corner :) !
Love that you could make it to Colorado for some time away with the van! We also purchased a Thor sequence but haven’t been able to go too much yet, but look forward to going on adventures like you two!
It looks like it’s less busy this time of year. I went through there this past July and its was PACKED with tourists and loads of overlanders. It’s a cute town, but better in the off season. I don’t enjoy the crowds. Also, did you stop at the Visitor’s center on the way into Silverton? Its in a big old historic house and has lots of good maps and stuff about that part of Colorado. I remember they also have some RV necessities like potable water and maybe propane? Head on up further north to Rifle Falls. Its a bit warmer there and has beautiful waterfalls. Rifle is a nice little town and there are 3 state parks within 10 miles of each other. The falls are beautiful there. Ridgeway is nice too.
Just curious: every time I see Bob make you a cup of coffee, he starts with a shot of Nespresso. But does how does that translate into a full mug of coffee? I bought a little white Essenza Mini like yours several years ago for traveling, but for the amount of space it took up, making a single short shot of espresso felt underwhelming. But Bob makes it into a nice big cup of coffee somehow. And it looks more robust than a Café Americano. It's sort of a moot question because I ended up quitting the camping espressos and included the Mini in the sale of the Travato. The inconvenience of transporting the bulky capsules (and the spent capsules for recycling) just made it impractical to me. Storage space is so lacking in a B van, so we went back to using Starbucks Via instant which tastes astonishingly like real French roast and is so much easier and takes up almost no space in the small pantry. So just curious about that steaming cup he hands you. (Apologies if you've already answered this, but I came into your channel just a year ago and haven't seen all of your videos.)
Haha! Love this question Trish! We have not answered it before. We definitely are looking to get something else that's more practical. But to answer your question we run each pod 1.5 times and use two pods per cup.
@@Vancaskeys oh, so you're getting hyper caffeinated! 😳 Well, I can't do that anymore. I find as I get older, my tolerance for caff has dropped considerably. I even had to stop using my beloved creamy, luscious, tasty Nespresso Kazaar because it contains almost double the caffeine of most of the other pods. If you want a recommendation for another Nespresso machine, one bump up is the Pixie. We first encountered one at hotel in London. I came home, went out to the Nespresso boutique and bought one. Much sturdier than the Essenza, it's less fussy about the off-brand capsules you put in it, it has an off/on button and a red light when you're low on water. I've had mine for six years now and it's like a little industrial workhorse. I only bought the Essenza Mini for traveling. But moving up to the Vertuo capsules, those offer a variety, and you can do longer polls, bigger cups. But they're bulky. I had one, I enjoyed playing around with it, I liked their little espresso capsule and the half calf. But it was bulky, and my Pixie was in the corner sulking, so I gave it to a friend, who is absolutely in love with it. Maybe someday if the Pixie dies I'll move up to the Lattisima. :)
@@VanlilfewithDaleandBailey Gotcha! It's such a great camera! You are right we didn't even think to use it on this video. We want to mount it on the van to get cool shots.

We just cover up the sink and place a bucket (collapsible) on top of the sink to wash dishes. 👍

Breakfast tacos home made can’t be beat. I do burritos also. I do all the cooking at our house Bob.
Agree Jim.
Great video as usual. Two things we keep on board for redundancy are a small ceramic electric heat and a portable butane stove.
Great tips! Thanks! We will need to get these.

Have you guys done a video on how to do dishes when you dry camp?
Great video as usual. Nice rv park but did you give any thought to boondocking?
We did. We wanted to. But we knew we wanted to stay at least one night at the RV place but they ended up having a minimum night rule.

Yes! It was one of our favorite places we’ve ever been!

Thanks! Love it!
Vancaskey Wednesday 😊

What outdoor chairs are those? They look nice.
They are the best! I think I linked them in our Amazon store 😃

I am!
You need a golf cart in tow lol
We do!!!😂

We have the Trumi. But it doesn’t have the electric option. I’ve been doing research on it. I wish we did. -Bob
we have a sequence 20j and don't have it
I love my omnia oven! but it is slow….
Yeah and I don’t have enough patience some times 😂
Why don’t you wear gloves when emptying tanks?
Well I didn’t have any - but that’s a good idea 😂
Mr Lemon 10. It should be an 11 if the monitor is wrong on the propane and you have plenty ❤
Thanks for great day it looks so amazing
