@@Vancaskeys I agree. I watch a lot of van channels, and yours are really a lot of fun. But seriously, next time don't get a Thor. Our Winnebago Travato had some problems, but nothing of this magnitude. The aluminum slats on the bathroom door broke off when we hit a pothole and the Remi blinds were too fussy and I managed to break them trying to put them up. But that was it. Otherwise little things here and there but nothing like you've experienced.
I didn't like the Travato G's floorplan and we just sold it and bought a Solis Pocket last week. Sort of the opposite of what you did. We went from 21' to 18' and no bathroom! (and a much cheaper build) Wish us luck!

Well you guys have officially convinced me not to ever purchase a Thor RV 👍🏻 lol 😂 But truly, how horrible that they don’t let you do a trade in or something!! Shame on Thor for their poor performance in their builds. Sad
Well there is no Thor in our future anymore...also the cabinet was falling apart on the highway didnt need the gravel road. Looks like they used shelf liner to cover those cabinets.

My Thor Tellaro also has major/minor quality problems so I feel your pain (I counted 17 defects!). I also went through the pain/frustration and finally into acceptance that Thor is just simply terrible products. I think off camera Bob has probably lost it more than once.
Ugh! So sorry! Yes Bob has lost it when the cameras aren’t rolling. But instead of getting loud he gets really quiet. That’s when you know he’s had enough.
I used to own an RV. The happiest day is when I sold it. I called it a migraine headache on wheels. Never again!

We were looking at buying a Tellaro which is why I started watching your channel. After seeing all your issues we ended up buying a Travato 59KL and we love it. When we bought our 22 Travato 59GL and as we drove our brand new van home everything was rattling and it turns out the Microwave was being held in place by the frame without anything supporting it so the frame was cracked and caused the rattling. We got a new frame for the microwave and we made sure it was supported from the bottom. Also the radio / head unit was faulty and thew out static no matter what we listened to the radio, bluetooth you name it. We got that fixed. The water pump did not work at all. We got that fixed. And this was all issues on the first day taking the brand new van home. After a few weeks the sound bar fell off and bounced on the ground. We found out that Winnebago only held it in place with 2 x 1 inch screws. I replaced it with 2 large bolts and ratcheted it place needless to say it is not going anywhere. After all that my wife and I finally fixed everything and we love our van and the volta 4 module 12,800 watt hours (12.8 kWh / 1,066 amp hour 3,600 Watt Inverter ) is something that we can't live without :). You are not the only ones that have to fix things. I guess it is something that nobody tells you when you purchase the van until you experience it. We had multiple failures with the new rig. But we took each one and worked through it. Glad to see that you are keeping things positive! Love watching your adventures!

I feel so sorry for you guys. I have a 20 year old class a motorhome and we never have a problem when we go camping the old saying they don’t build them like they used to. I love my old motorhome.

We also own a Thor Van. I truly feel your pain. As soon as you finish fixing all the “stuff”, you will have the best van out there. Thor’s new slogan should be: “There is nothing you can’t fix with a positive attitude and a lot of money”. Hang in there!

@@dww1213Not much really. Had a fuse blow on the awning. Contacted Grech and they told me to remove the fuse and direct wire since it has a fuse in the fuse box. Grech support is second to none! They are always there to help. No buyers remorse with the Grech!

I hope my sequence holds up better. Knock on particle board! Only 2 trips so far. Another end of July. Fingers crossed because we have a big trip planned to South Dakota in September.

We were camping at the rim just down from where you guys were. Assume spot we will be there again. Bought an entegra ethos 2 months ago , this is my 4th Rv so nothing surprises me anymore. We are in Colorado Rocky Mountains right now on our way to Oregon. You guys are awesome!

Watching your adventures with Thor vans has me feeling good about our Winnebago Solis purchase. Though I've heard they can have massive fails, too. I hope we can keep as good of an attitude when we run into problems! Maybe you guys can do a video on how to do emergency repairs on the road--like what should be in your emergency tool kit? And what type of battery did you buy? We were told not to run ours below 50%, so we've really been babying it.

I don't know how you two can still keep a smile on your face with all these qualities issues with this van. Kudos to you two. Class B vans are so expensive yet so poorly made. Unbelievable. Is this the norm or just an exception with your van. I would love to know.
Thanks. We don’t know. Our hunch is that’s vans we’re being thrown together because of such high demand when we bought it. We were barely able to find a Tellaro when we were looking. It’s such a bummer. But we have to make the best out of it.
That van is SUCH a LEMON! I think it is time for you to get an attorney involved.
Boy that van is a power hog, I have a 35' Class A Winnebago and I can go 3 days on my 2 lead acid house batteries before starting the generator or hooking up my portable solar. I just returned home to WA from AZ and when I got home my house batteries were almost dead. Found the fuse that turns on the relay to connect the alternator while driving had blown so I was on the road 5 days and no charge to my house batteries, though I have a gas fridge but it needs 12 to still run the controller, and yes most every trip something breaks but my rig is now 20 years old and 100K miles.
Gosh....I hate you have so many problems, but sure do appreciate your onstage optimism. Off stage my husband would be throwing things and fussing a lot.... LOL

I also have a 2022 thor like yours. My setup is the 200 amp like yours but I have the Onan 2800 generator with auto start. It doesn't always work and both thor and la Mesa won't even acknowledge the problem. I'm replacing the two relion batteries with 300 amp batteries which I hope will dramatically extend my "boondock" time without running the generator.
Several others have commented about going from 100% to 9% in a day just running the fridge. I would agree. I have the exact same setup and I can go days with just the inverter running the fridge.

We had similar ideas over the 4th weekend, run to the cooler weather. We went to the coast and it was a 40 degree change. Love the filmwork on this one guys and crossing fingers Mr. Lemon behaves well on upcoming trips.
Another great adventure. We have been on the road for 10 years now and have gotten used to small things breaking and big things halting our travel. It happens. But I must say your van seems to have more problems then most. Still, I’m glad you guys can push past those hiccups and enjoy your time out in the wild. Stay safe!

I recently found your channel and love how the misses deals with all,the problems with mr. Lemon and being so supportive of her husband, in her special way. You folks make me laugh so much because I too was able to experience some rv failures years ago and survived. Also, thanks for warning everyone about how cheaply and crappy the b-van is put together. Really makes winnwbago look better. Anyway have a great southwest summer of camping, hopefully.
An acquaintance of ours just bought a Thor. I tried to warn them but they got a new one anyway. We have never had an incident while we were out camping. We've had to have a new LP regulator installed and had a rodent chew through the speed sensor wires in the engine but not on the road. Other than that, we've been lucky in our Travato. I hope I didn't just jinx ourselves...

Woods Canyon area on a weekend - nope! Chevelon Lake, better chances. Deeper on the Rim, the better chances as you have experienced. Miss my home state but not the crowds. Happy Trails😀

Your van reminds me of about my neighbor who bought a flipped house and during the night, the first night after moving in, they heard a HUGE crash in the kitchen. They went down and looked and discovered all their dishes broken on the floor. Looking further, they saw that all the kitchen cabinets had been hung with nails and they just pulled out. Code for that is screws for that very reason.
Staples? That is appalling! How can they stay in business with such shotty workmanship?!
My understanding is that microwave and aircon, only work on shore power or generator.
My van is Thor Rize so I Love your videos! They are so helpful. Thank you for the information about charging batteries in about an hour 👌. I wish I had that percent gauge. (Probably wouldn’t work if I did 😅). I do put a rolled up towel in that gap behind the counter. Not pretty but, no potato droppings 😊. I have 2 recalls now-awning could fly open and transmission could allow the van to roll back. Dodge dealer has to fix the second one. Argh. I’ll keep my chin up like you both. Appreciate you!

Hi, I just to have one of those pro master, Roadtrek I always keep my tires 60/45 psi, make big difference on the ride mpg don’t change at all. I hope your new batteries will be ok. Now the gabinete 😡. On 2022 on the Hershey show I buy Tranquility on sprinter chasis only have for 4 months thank god, a ton of trouble. Good luck to you both.

I feel so bad for you guys. I'd been lucky and not had any problems since I got my Solis Pocket a little over a year ago, other than not being able to use the stove due to a recall, it's been working out really well, We had been on 4 long trips thus far, and just got back from Jasper,Canada. My only regret is not having an all-wheel drive or a 4-wheel drive.

So sorry you guys are experiencing so many issues. My 20 AT 2021 has only had mild issues with screws and reinforcing stuff 33K miles and still going strong. I must say from watching some of your adventures I think y’all should have or should get a tough 4wheel drive RV instead of the semi luxury one you got! Just my 2 cents….Hope you continue to have fun and make the best of it!

Have a Thor Sequence - similar issues with the fasteners that don't hold well. Just carry a kit of bigger and better ones to keep on fixing. Otherwise what a great adventure vehicle. Love the reality y'all show!

FYI - I watched one UA-camr who used to idle their van to charge their batteries and ended up with engine trouble. Mechanic told her Promaster engines are not designed to idle for extended periods of time. Don't know how true ...

We’ve have Gunner our Tellaro, little things we are reinforcing the cabinets and bed plastic things are breaking, so far so good. Thor/Tellaro are giving us a call and checking on us if we’re having any problems keep our fingers crossed for 2023 will be OK not perfect but OK we do have a tow behind toy hauler and always tinkering with it.

Staples, unreal that any manufacturer thinks that is acceptable.
I too have peeling, front table broke, solar panel not working and intermittent sliding door won't open from inside. I've had other rvs and I can absolutely say this one is the worst. Some have suggested it was a covid gap in quality combined with high rv demand...so a lot of shoddy stuff made it to market.
At this point I've kind of rebuilt a lot of these small issues so the frustration level has gone down, but I sure wish thor would take responsibility.

Went for a three day to Assatique National Park with our daughter in the 20J. Expected to get up and plug my 740 watt 10 cupper in. The battery's were dead overnight with only the fridge and one little light on. Had to run the van for an hour to get enough power up. (No Hook Ups ) I know you had a video of you replacing your battery's when LaMesa gave you a three month wait for appointment. I can't find that video and I wanted to know what brand of battery thay were.

We hope to take our “Turtle” out East this fall. Not going to be full timers we love our summers at home in Iowa. “We may not be the fastest but we have fun getting there”. The Turtles. That's great that you can charge your van from the alternator when its that low. Apparently on ours (2023 Tranquility Sprinter), if it's below 20%, it disables that ability. Question about your solar charging. On the BMPro, do you see a current and voltage reading for solar? I only see a voltage so I'm convinced my solar isn't working properly.

Hard to believe Thor and/or La Mesa aren't beating down your door offering to straighten out your various issues. I look at your videos and wouldn't touch a Thor product with a ten-foot pole... or buy something from La Mesa. I've had four different RVs and have had very few problems. Those were repaired cheerfully and promptly by my dealer.

Lessons. 1. Thor not for dirt roads. 2. All RVs need generators, the engine should not be the generator! 3. Video document everything for the Thor lawsuits!
Do you really have 200 Ahs of batteries, and they got down to 9% in one night? We put in a 100Ah AGM battery in our old trailer, and we were able to boondock for more than 5 days without getting below 50%. What kind of fridge do you have? Is it the kind of fridge that can run on propane but you were running it on battery power? Because an absorption fridge (that can run on propane) will drain your batteries very quickly if you try to run it on 12V. I can't imagine what else could be draining your batteries so quickly. I just found your channel and started following. Thanks for the entertaining videos!
OMG you have opened my eyes to the quality of construction on your class B RV. It really seems like one thing after another. How disappointing after paying so much for it. Mr. Lemon is built with contact paper over particle board held together with staples. It is a good thing you are able to fix the broken items better than they were originally built. I love watching you guys having fun. You are a great team. By the way It is in the 70's in San Diego.

Is there a lemon law for RV's? I do want to thank you for your videos. I will never buy a Thor product. They should have taken your van back and given you a new one. Better built. I am looking at the Solis or Roadtrek pivot slumber. HOA changes or the ability to move. Still working at an onsite job are holding me back. If the HOA changes and I can park it in my driveway I will be set.
You guys are too forgiving. There is no excuse for the lousy veneer used for the the sink cabinet, etc. I do hope Thor covered the cost (let alone your labor) of the new batteries? Unrelated suggestion: try par boiling the spuds next time before you put em on the grill. Just FYI, we had a warped cabinet door on our Solis and Winnebago sent us a new one right away.....
How many hundreds of thousands of dollars did you spend for a van that is put together with staples?
I wouldn't buy a Thor either. Winnebago, or better yet, a build out where you know what materials are being used in your van.

What possessed you to buy a Thor product? I’ve heard nothing but horror stories about them.
We never heard any horror stories. We were such newbies. That’s part of the reason we share everything. We don’t want others to go in like we did.
Your electrical system is not right, should not have gone that low over night, with just fridge and fan running. They slapped that van together so cheaply!
Ugh. You guys! Ugh!! I walked away from this van twice/two different dealers/two different states after inspector I had to hire found numerous issues with both rigs. Sooooo many issues with them. It’s such a shame.

Did you upgrade batteries, or just replace 2 - 100 watt with new 2 - 100 watt? It’s discouraging to learn you didn’t run A/C at all and still almost completely drained batteries by morning. So, if we boondock somewhere that’s hot, like mid-80s at night, can we run A/C to stay cool if we run engine or use auto start? (Not even sure if we have auto start, but when we recently forgot to turn off A/C and went in to store for over an hour, van was running when we came out.)

The 200 a/h system shouldn’t have the auto start. That is only on the larger 400-800 a/h lithium system.
I have a 200 a/h with auto start 2022...but I have the Onan 2800 generator not the under hood big alternator.
The made some with this setup and I'm pretty sure it was due to not having components during covid. They will tell you the auto start should only be on the 800 a/h configuration.
With my 200 a/h I can run ac for 1.5 to 2 hours before the auto start gets the generator running.
@@houstonstarbuck your pretty lucky, that’s a pretty cool option. I didn’t know the auto start engine would also start the generator. I have 2-100a/h lithium but no auto start. I emailed Thor and not available on 2023 unless full lithium package. Wasn’t worth the xtra 25k in my case.
@@sparks701 it was a very odd build and I flew from Houston to Phoenix to get it. I too didn't want to pay up for the 800. I also wanted a separate generator not the big alternator under hood. I'd experienced that with a previous rv and didn't like to have to run the engine to charge stuff or run ac.
I'm switching out the 100 a/h with two 300 a/h ...going from 200 to 600. It cost me 3,500. I'm going to use the two old 100 a/h batteries as tailgating and/or extra boondock power using a box and 3,000 watt inverter.
The auto start feature is great.....but is not consistent. Longer story, but has to do with ac running full out when the batteries tell the mastervolt to start the generator. Works perfectly if no ac running. Works sometimes if ac is running.
@@sparks701Viper makes an AutoStart product that ties into the batteries for some models that could be maybe an option for you

Thor should be ashamed for such poor quality! I feel bad for you guys. Thor needs to fix those issues. No one wants to have their van fall apart going down the road.
you have a crappy van.....sorry ... I bought I trailer that I owned know for 3 years. no problems ,everything works on it. thank God... but I did my re-search for 3 years before I bought it....I fill sorry for your troubles ,,,, there are rv brand that their nothing but junk...
