I never thought this song was as good as her classic hits of the 60s, but, having just played it again, I've changed my mind.
For those of us who remember...wouldn't we like to turn the clock back? Times were more simple. Easier to have fun. Music was fantastic! We got sooo excited to go to the music store and buy our vinyl which we played over and over and never got tired of it.

I was a teenager in the 1960's from Australia, we got all the great music from England and it was great, young people of today do not know what they missed out on. We could not wait for the next Beatles album we knew it would be ahead of any music we had listened to before. Cilla you were a legend and even with your passing you still are a legend and your music will live on forever R.I.P..........
I miss those days when Britain and Australia were as close as Brother and Sister . All gone now.!

Cilla, Cliff Richards, and the 60s: I wish everyone could have experienced England in the 60s and 70s. There was nothing like it before or since. Cilla was the iconic Mersey Girl - there will never be another voice like hers.
I was born '65 so caught the fag end of that wonderful era as a kid. I have an old mate who's about 8 years older than me and I said to him the other day, "I wish I'd been born at least 10 years earlier". He looked at me quizzically and replied, "But then you'd now be 10 years older!" 🙄

I so agree, where does that lyric come from? I understand that the songwriters were told by a TV producer that it was for a TV special starring Celia Black and they wanted a song to open the show that would imply that this was going to be a big event, that something was going to happen tonight and true genius sometimes just takes the comment to heart and thus here is the song's theme. But I know what you mean by outrageous. But what I have learned is that what turns people's heads and ears can be the poetic or prose of a song that comes from out of nowhere. Both outrageous and audacious, but if a performer or writer believes it, the listener will too, that is accept the premise of the song.
My favourite Cilla song …a classic with a real 70’s feel to it
Wow what a great song! Now in my seventies I seem to value it more and it's got me singing along and tapping my feet! I was lucky to have grown up with all these quality singers.
I get choked up when hearing this song because I was just a baby when this was out...I came into the world in 1971!

Never realised how great Cilla was, this song is amazing and timeless.
I have a triple CD of hers. Almost in order of Recording dates, it’s gorgeous. Cilla has a remarkable voice. My mother use to say it was a bit nasal high up but she just had a beautiful voice .

Anyone who has no taste or understanding of real music won't know. What they don't know they don't like. She made many millions of fans. I'm only one of them.
