@@katerinatsoliakou235 You know what would be more funny than your post here? You, being an Arvanite. Greek state and the society itself put pressure and brainwashed Arvanites into thinking they were born Greeks with Aristotle!
Arvanites moved to Peloponese and other parts of Greece around 11th century due to the pressure in the north from the Slavic Mogration into the Balkans.
Arvanites language is the same as Albanian language, and Arvanites have similar DNA with Albanians and Arberesh of Italy.

@@katerinatsoliakou235 Arvanites are Greeks in culture and citizenship, but they share common blood (DNA) and language with Albanians. Arvanites were Albanian tribes from Medieval Principality of Albania (Middle Albania) who moved south to Greek lands around the time of Slavic migration in the Balkans. They preserved their language and customs, and their Greek Orthodox religion that they had under the Byzantine rule.
Most of Arvanites identify as Greeks. A few of them have embraced a duality of common herirtage with Albanians and Hellenes. Arvanites from the Principality of Arbanon and other regions inhabited by Albanians in Medieval times who moved to Italy have preserved their language and culture, and their distinct Albanian identity and heritage.
Italy has been less repressive toward changing their identity by force or by society pressure. Arvanites of Italy (Arberesh) enjoy much more freedoms as minority, and the Italian government has opened schools in Albanian for the Arberesh communities there. Many of these communities have their own church that is Eastern Catholic, or otherwise Orthodox church very much like the Greek Orthodox church but the Bishop responds to Pope of Rome instead to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
I have an Irish neighbor who has one grandfather from Italy, one day he comes to my cousin's home saying he now is Albanian, 1/4 Albanian; his grandfather from Italy happened to be Arberesh of Albanian heritage. The he goes to list celebrities like Jim Belushi, Kara Dioguardi, Robert Deniro, Regis Philbin and a few more who have declared their Albanian heritage, either directly from Albania (Jim Belushi, and his brother John (RIP), or through Italo-Albanians.

@@katerinatsoliakou235 LOL... what do you mean by "Big Dreams"... the Megalidea?
I do not have a dream to make Athens an Albanian city. If you read, there is plenty of information about the originas of Arvanites, and that is not the same as the tale you or the Greek government is telling people. Arvanites share the same DNA and the same language with modern-day Albanians. Not only that, but the UN and other international bodies recognize Arvanites as a dialect under the Albanian language. Arvanites has never been under the Greek language. In fact Greeks cannot understand Arvanites, but Albanians do.
Don't get me wrong, I consider Arvanites the most ardent Greek nationalists in Greece; they have served the Greek state since the Greek Revolution of 1821, and they have been not only soldiers, but leaders of the revolution as well.

@@katerinatsoliakou235 Yes, you are right. Arvanites date from 11th century or so Medieval Albania (Arbanon) (Principality of Albania) - you can't have a brother or sister from ten centuries ago.
Arvanites and modern-day Albanians share the same DNA and language - if you read, Arvanite language is listed along with Albanian language (not with Greek language). Other than that Arvanites are Greek; Greek Orthodox, while Albania is only 15% Greek Orthodox.

I hope I am not dealing here with someone who did not graduate high school... Please read, get informed; Arvanite is part of, a dialect closely related to Albanian. The fact that Albanians from anywhere understand Arvanite speaking... means that language is part of the Albanian language... just like Romanian language is part of Latin/Romance languages.
