the song Tuman Kuqe, is an old Tsame song.. Tsamuria or Thiami used to belong to Albania, but England, Russia, France and Germany gave it to Greece at the London conference, so today we mockingly call London Albania. We have left Tsamuria the songs, the clothes after the arrival of the people with fire and iron from the Greeks, and the painting of Lord Byron with Tsame clothes

Të këndoftë zemra! Thank you for bringing in life a great version of this song. All of my grandparents were born in the Çamëria region. They never saw their homes again since 1944. We could not bury them in their ancestral graveyards therefore fulfill their will. So, I had to go in their olive grooves finding the land just by my grandfather's vivid descriptions, filled a sack with thy sacred earth and brought it back in Albania to my grandparents graves. I know this would have meant peace for their souls. Thank you!

Your story gave me goosebumps, what a beautiful thing you did for them! my grandparents too came in 1944 in south Albania only 2 kids from a family of 8 made it alive. Fast forward we had to leave Albania too during the war but when I was a little kid my grandfather wuold tell us how they' cross the mountains and the tragedies that came with it, we tried in 07 to bring my only grandmother left alive, they wouldn't let her at the Greece border because her birth place was Cameria. I hope they're sacrifices will never be forgotten and I hope that the new generations know where we come from , no matter where they live around the world 🙏
@@Localroxi I continue to be amazed and touched by the stories that have come forth with this one video. And the truth is that this concert was the only concert not planned for our 2019 American Music Abroad Kosovo tour. It happened by a chance meeting with one of these young folk musicians while strolling through the city square and testing out a folk instrument from a street vendor. We were then invited by the young man to follow him to the rehearsal with this group...and after that encounter we all agreed that we must do a performance together...so the US Embassy in Pristina organized this event at the national library with this magical moment that is recorded here. I gathered footage from guests that were in attendance and edited it together. I hope that nobody ever forgets!
