Omgggg hi Matt😊😊
Are the classes scheduled around training or the other way round?
Athletes get to schedule their classes before other students so we schedule classes around practice times :)
I heard from older friends that you shouldn't do a sport in college unless your taking an easy major... I would like to do track in college but I'm not sure because of time management. What's your major? And how do you manage your time with both track and school?
It’s definitely a time commitment and it isn’t easy regardless of your major. I’m majoring in rehabilitation science so I would say I definitely have a packed schedule and challenging courses. It’s a lot but you have academic support through athletics which is very helpful. It’s important that I use my free time wisely to get ahead of classes especially when in season. It’s a challenge but if you’re serious about your sport, it’s 100% doable if you manage your time well and take care of yourself
@@mackenziesullivann Thanks so much! I feel a lot more confident and comfortable with my decision of doing track in college now :)
Of course! Yay I’m glad you got this!
Did Pitt recruit you and did other schools recruit you or try to and did you get a four-year scholarship?
I was recruited and I’m on scholarship. I was recruited by a few big 10 and other acc schools
What does your lift program look like as a distance runner? How often and what sort of things do you do?
In the sprints and hurdles group we lift 3 days a week, I’m pretty sure the same applies to the distance group. I’m not exactly sure what exercises they do we don’t lift at the same time.
