Thanks as always! We learned a lot from your review of Rise of Vecna and I think that it helped a lot with the making of this product. For what it's worth the Vecnan relics are pretty important. They are powerful magic items in their own right, each with fun abilities that can be used throughout the campaign. Anyone wielding them deals double damage to Vecna and takes half damage from him which is a critical mechanical advantage during the final battle. And finally, while bonded with the relics they are immune to scrying/divination from Vecna which is important story-wise and helps explain why the nigh-omniscient Vecna doesn't just track them down and obliterate them promptly upon their return. That said, all of his information is buried in Appendix D and, Im realizing now, should have absolutely been more front-facing. Live and learn and that's why these reviews are such an incredible service to us creators. :)
Great points, Scott, I failed to even mention the magic items! :( I did wish that Azalin Rex played a bigger role in the story after his big reveal, though. Stellar work overall, definitely look for it in my next Top Ten list! :D
Great review. Love that you are honest even in the sponsored review, lot's of respect. I've looked at this a few times, I think I am going to purchase it, even though the plot has some issues it has some cool ideas. I wonder if anyone is going to release some products to reduce some of the combat and increase RP opportunities, I always love those products the most on DMsguild.
Hopefully they put all the Doomed books in a bundle.. would like to pick them all up before the OGL forces these awesome creators to take make a choice to continue on DMs Guild.
I may be wrong but I believe the DMs Guild uses its own, much more restrictive license (and in turn, allows the use of DnD IP, such as the Forgotten Realms).
hey! thanks for this review, after hearing some major issues in Vecna Eve of ruin(namely that vecna is almost a side focus and does not really interact with the players, along with a few other issues) I am looking at this and this will be good to see. I am thinking about grabbing this in a few months when my schedule opens up.
@@RogueWatson had to put a cut off, but up until Frost Maiden, yes. A long and arduous journey indeed, games lasted almost 4 years so far, and some tweaking for it to encompass level 1-20… it’s been my pet project for awhile. And I can’t wait to see Faerun after my friends muddy it all up!

@@RogueWatson Fair :) And one can hope!
Looking forward to running this in the future. We're running Curse of Strahd right now and want to transition into this campaign.

Thank you! For future reference, sponsored reviews move to the top of my gigantic pile of review copies. I still apply all my usual review criteria!

Nice! I have a feeling the Doomed Forgotten Realms will see a renewed interest with all the Vecna talk now.
I’m currently running a game that my players run through each of the modules consecutively, so this would be a perfect tool to explore after my game
Each module = every single 5e campaign release? That's a ton of content!

This is awesome Ryan! I wish I had you as a DM :) Please keep us all posted on how it goes!
Wow! I'd love to read a write up of that. Better yet publish that shit on the DMs Guild or somewhere.
@@TheScottMcclintock appreciated Scott, but I’m just a normal DM trying to explore the wonderful world Ed Greenwood crafted for us!
This is a great trilogy!
You kept saying you werent sure which city the Merc Company Bregan was involved in. Did you mean luskan and not waterdeep ?
