Mario Kart 8 doesn't even _have_ a remaster of the credits theme. And the original version of Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road will always be better.
The MK8 version is just too "jazz", and doesn't feel like "Rainbow Road".
The feeling of Rainbow Road should be some kind of "orchestral rock with some kind of pixie dust or something...." not "brass instruments".
The MK8DX versions of SNES Rainbow Road, 3DS Rainbow Road, Wii Rainbow Road, and even the main Rainbow Road have more of a Rainbow Road feel to it.

The way you put together those clips of various tracks in the same style the credits to Mario Kart 64 did, I swear I had a shot of modern nostalgia there. I loved that.

Wow, so much class! I love the transition to the credits song. I've done a more orchestral version of this which has done fairly well, but it's a bit old hat. So I appreciate other versions! You really enhance the original :)
Vin(can I call you Vin?), don't worry about the "crappy" montage. A, the montage is fine and very well put together. B, even if the montage was "crappy", it wouldn't come close to distracting from the actual work. And may I just say I haven't heard anything like this remake. I can think of 3 words that can best describe this piece: Epic, beautiful, and, most of all, impressive. Far beyond impressive. I've heard many remixes and remakes of yours and they're all great. But none come close to this masterpiece of a song. Well done, sir, well done.
4:30-That little bit at the end, with Mario congratulating you over the top...It's amazing how the smallest things can fill you with so much pride and satisfaction as a kid....

A good remake of Mario Kart 64 is no remake of Mario Kart 64. There's no real reason to remake a racing game. Including the old courses is enough.

I was a Senior in High School when I found out about this video! Now I'm a supervisor @ World Resort and a Front Line Cook in a restaurant. Time really changes but my music taste didn't 🤧

Pretty amazing. That being said, if there's one theme I think deserves a good remix, it's the credits to sm64.
imagine if after you pass the last lap of mk8 remake of mk64 rr it zooms out and the music continues as you review the results. The second half of this remix will be in the background of the credits then it goes silent gives you the trophy then you watch the replay as all the rainbow road music plays (like from smk to mk8) in a mk8 style remixed form
You can tell the original versions i feel like are composed around the same time for they share so much Legendary energy between then it makes Karting worth it no matter how many blue shells or anything else hitting you from 1st to last to me this music is MORE than Worth coming back and trying again!
Getting through the Special Cup and its bs knowing that you'll be rewarded with Rainbow Road and the ending credits theme filled me with so much anticipation.
The dopamine still hits strong when the engine winds up and harmonizes with the music. Then getting the credits music just keeps the dopamine coming.
Loved this game.
Then, F-Zero GX came out courtesy of Sega. When Nintendo saw the result, they must've thought, "Crap. There's no way we can top this. Guess we have to kill the IP now."

Because it wouldn't make sense that way. To combine them into one song, he had to make them thematically similar.

these are the kind of remakes I love. the originals had a great... something -- I'm not sure what word I should use (rhythm, tempo, feel?) but they just needed a clearer, crisper and more modernized sound while still maintaining the same feels, and that is exactly what you've done here.

Randomly came across this again years later and i still think for mk8 this should’ve been the actual song and the track should’ve been 2 laps. Also it would’ve been pretty cool if they remixed the mk64 credits theme for this game since 8x8=64 or some shit idk

When I see how games Mario Kart Ds onwards remade almost all the tracks throughout the years in the new games, it gives a new love to that game for me personally. Mario Kart 8/Deluxe made me appreciate and want it even more done like that!
