It is a very long route. Very energetic and at times deflating. You assuming a down hill section is coming and then it disappoints. Towards the end when it grips you in to a false sense of being an underwhelming and unadventurous route is challenges you. Over all I did enjoy the Red route but I will not be rushing back, If anything sections of it are brilliant but the black run for me. Shorter and more in your face with out the mileage
So true mate, you would get ready for a good decent after pedaling forever to then be let down with a really non eventful section. Then towards the end it finally gets better. Same as you I won't be rushing back but glad I have done it 👍🏼
The section before the Gulley is great and immediately after is the big drop off. Took some bottle for me to that but Ive done it twice now. The other side is another drop off that looks easier. Fallen twice and badly sprained my wrist and broke the derailleur. It does get more interesting from there though
Great editing as always buddy and yeah jot really much there by the looks of it . Definitely there is more of that crazy off piste somewhere in them woods . Glad you had a laugh with your mates though 🤛🤛🔥🔥
.....see what you mean pal.....As much as I love your witty commentary and amazing riding skills....I too had to edit the vid by fast forwarding lol 😂 . Onwards and upwards .....the next one will be great I’m sure 👍
🤣🤣 don't blame you at all! I would do same, real shame but good to at least learn I guess. It's OK though, Hamsterley, One Giant Leap and Grizedale next 😃🤙🏼
Great video mate, probably a much better video than ride by the sounds of it, i'm in no rush to go there although some parts looked quite decent, great edit and intro as always, loving this road trip series 😊👍
Cheers mate, yep that was how I felt about it. Best day with mates for sure, just the riding never delivered on a consistent basis 🙄 Live and learn though and glad I have ridden the place and learnt 👍🏼 Could have edited it all out but those that know me would have smelt a rat a mile off 😊
Haha you know me well 🤣 yeh this place did not excite me at all, facilities and location really top notch but it is all about the riding for me and it just never delivered enough to justify a 22 mile loop. When I compare it to Grizedale we did at weekend chalk and cheese, did not do the trail centre but same milage. Still grinning from it now 😊 that is going to be an epic video trust me 👍🏼 Marc and Jason will have theirs up long before mine whilst I clear the back log.
Could not agree more 😂 Was not a fan of the red route. Found one trail which was good fun, thought there might be some good trails there, just not official ones 😊
You know what, as a training come fitness route this place really would work for that. Bet you can crush the miles now 👍🏼 for me I just wanted a bit more back from it I guess. The final sections were good fun though, did enjoy them
Great edit mate, I know you struggled with this one but it has turned out really well. Not keen on Dalby myself, I was seriously underwhelmed with it as there just felt to be no real descents. It's probably one of those places that rewards the fit as they can hammer round and enjoy the swoopy singletrack but when I did it, I wasn't fit. Plus, hard packed singletrack with sod all features isn't my thing at all. Looks like you had fun though, and that's what's important 👍
Oh admit it this is your dream location and you know it 🤣 hard-core tech this haha. Was a really hard one to edit, when you have no real investment or positive flings of a ride, trying to keep it out of the edit where possible is not great ☹ think you can hear that in the tone of my voiceover 🤣🤣
How many different animations do you have? They all look so sweet. Are these trails always so busy? Hate when you have to spend half the ride trying to avoid the hordes of people. But the terrain does look great
Haha I have a few more still, yeh it was really busy there! Views were nice, just ashame the riding never lived up to it for me. Oh well Hamsterley next and that was fun 👍🏼
Nice, thanks for the heads up. Really wanted this ride to be what I had hoped for, I probably set expectations to high for it really which didn't help 🤷🏻♂️
Defo a place similar to Cannock Chase, in my opinion...not much rewards, but seems to be more flow and a lot bigger place. XC or short travel trail bike seems to be the weapon of choice. Keep up good work ;)
Yeh not a fan of it, since having eyes opened to more natural trails this never for got me excited and far to much nothing in-between the few goods runs. Real shame but never mind we live and learn 👍🏼 Cheers for the kind words and Hamsterley up next which was loads more fun 🤙🏼
"Is that it?" Yes looks pretty average. Never been, have considered it, as we've often been up in that area on holiday and walked the dog in the forest, but hasn't really stoked me.... Still some nice editing ideas at the beginning.
Walking the dog is a better option mate, csme away really disappointed after this ride. My only advice would be just do the final 6 miles, or just don't bother would also be a good option. Don't mind putting the miles in but I want good trails along the way. The fact a lady could run on it says it all really, it is like an urban footpath it's that smooth and hard packed.
Agreed Dalby is just a slog that fails to warrant the effort. On edit feedback colour grading and camera angle on pov needs some adjustment. Commentary is good though and a nice honest review.🤙🏻
Yep, was really not for me this one, just bored for a lot of the ride. Cheers for feedback as well, yeh was a bad day for camera angle actually had to leave out loads as well as it was pointing to far down. Colour grading still learning, one of the hardest things for me to get right will keep learning hopefullyn😊 Cheers for feedback, and glad you liked the honesty 👍🏼

@@donnyladmtb25 nicely done for doing that drop mate as not a small feature 👍🏼it did get better towards the end, just to little to late for me 🤣
Great stuff mate! Hamsterly next! 💪
Yes dog 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Need that off piste lol

Great vid! And the trail too. Oh man, emtb are so cool, climbs are like nothing.
Climbing is great fun, shame the trail did not really live up to expectation 🙄 cheers for the support as always dogger
Thought you’d struggle to get excited about Dalby, very much a traditional trail centre. Waiting for the Hamsterley instalment 👍🏼

Once you do the offpiste stuff ull never do the red route again but the problem is u hav to no were they are lol
Could not agree more 😂 Was not a fan of the red route. Found one trail which was good fun, thought there might be some good trails there, just not official ones 😊
I use the red route as a mid week training ride on my hardtail, you have to push hard to enjoy it as there is about 2000 foot of climbing involved.
You know what, as a training come fitness route this place really would work for that. Bet you can crush the miles now 👍🏼 for me I just wanted a bit more back from it I guess.
The final sections were good fun though, did enjoy them
It can get boring, but a hardtail spices it up a bit, I'm 55 and can get round in 2 hours 15 on the hardtail... but yes, good for stamina training.
Jeez! That is great going, hardtail would certainly make it more fun as well, will also help on the climbs 👍🏼 nice going as well at 55!
Cheers.... It gets better with age... We'll keep telling myself that🤔👴🏻.... Takes about 10 mins longer on full suspension, go figure🤷🏼♂️
@@grahamalderson5048 no way, that is a massive difference. Shows what pedal bob does really I guess.
great video mate. I forgot how fun some of those decent where. but none of them where worth the climbs to get there
Certainly did have a couple of nice decents, but was better for having a laugh between us all 🤙🏼

The blue run is better. Flowy, links up to a lot of the faster red route and can be done twice round.
Nice, thanks for the heads up. Really wanted this ride to be what I had hoped for, I probably set expectations to high for it really which didn't help 🤷🏻♂️

Yeh it made the day better riding with mates for sure, there are some good bits there just not enough. Have you been?
