    Your fingers move very fast base on how much sound come out. To watch your hands your fingers are very fast but very controlled. An precise where you place them. It looks easy but is very hard with a lot of practice. Thank You so much for showing an sharing your wonderful skill for my an others listings pleasure.

      Hi John, yes I find control is very important when playing quickly. It doesn't actually feel to me like I'm playing all that fast, because I'm so focused on small movements while playing. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for providing inspiration! I started playing again last year after 15 years where I didn't have access to my harp (was overseas)
    I'm sure I'm doing it wrong because I forgot so much and I'm sure I never played that well to start with (didn't practice nearly enough) but it's been such a joy to come back and learn new pieces. Am currently on schumann's arabesque
    Anyway thank you for your top-notch content

    This was incredible Jacqueline! I loved it - especially the passages with the descending notes played at 1:45, and the harmonics at 5:30. You’re a great harpist!

      @@JacquelinePollauf This piece was the PERFECT intro for Bouquet! There’s just so much awesomeness going on within it. I love how it starts with its main theme in a minor key, and later transitions to a major key. Those descending notes I mentioned before right at 1:45 - what intervals are they? Can’t wait to see this played live later this Spring!

      @@gelguitarist I love the minor to major transition as well! I think it's very effective (and dramatic) in this piece. The descending notes are all seconds moving down a g harmonic minor scale. And yes, I've been practicing this one lately to get ready for the concert with it in February!

    • @gelguitarist
      @gelguitarist 3 роки тому +1

      Descending seconds - got it! I definitely thought that passage with the harmonics at the end was a brilliant way to set up the key change. Do you remember how long it took to learn this piece?

    I close my eyes, and I found my inner being enchanted flying in notes of the harp, I close my eyes and I feel suspended in the infinite blue sky, listening heavenly notes from the harp, I close my eyes and I find the paradise, I close my eyes,and space and time are banished by the sweet melody of the harp . I close my eyes and I discovered a reason for life, I close my eyes feeling dancing with the stars, I close my eyes and my soul rides in the magical notes of the harp, I close my eyes involved in a sublime melody that brings peace and, joyfulness to the heart, I close my eyes and I discovered a magical, magical,oh magical harp played by Jacqueline a godes of the harp, Dearest Jacqueline thank you for your art, thank you God, for your daughter Jacqueline playing sublime magical harp.

      I'm not sure that it's going to be available sometime soon, as it is quite old at this point. However, I hope to do more recording before too long!

      @@JacquelinePollauf I understand, it was put out in 2010 - this piece is beautiful - Grandjany does a beautiful job at interpreting Haydn - I love all the baroque scales and how the piece starts out in minor chords and then ends up in the upbeat major. You play all those scales so well, to perfection! Jacqueline - you are a master harpist in my humble opinion. I will just have to make this piece part of my daily/monthly/weekly agenda which is a joy to do! Love listening to your pieces, whatever time of day or night - they are spiritual nourishment!! Thank you for taking the time to make these spectacular videos!

      I think maybe you're talking about the time between the movements. For this piece, I paused as I would pause in a concert setting, to give time for the movement to end and let the sound settle before continuing on, as that is how this piece is meant to be played. I'm glad you like my playing!
