- So finally, this is my second Femshep, Olivia Shepard, and she had the privilege of romancing our awesome Garrus.
Although this is only my secondn romance in the game, I'm impressed to see how wonderful it is in its very awkward sweetness. And let's not forget this fantastic quote:
"You know me... I always like to savour the last shot before popping the heat sink."

Garrus is my ride or die, the only mission I didn't bring him on was finding Mordin cause I can't risk my boy getting the damn plague.

I didn't expect the romance with Garrus to be this sweet and also hilarious. He's almost as adorkable as Alistair from Dragon Age. He's my favorite ME romance so far, though still have to play ME3
Garrus is my favorite boyfriend as Femshep. They're perfect together. And oooh, that voice makes me melt. I don't care he looks like a Velociraptor.
And Tali is my favorite for male Shepard.

@@michaelflynn4241 thank you! I finally started the romance with him. I was only familiar with the 3rd game that a friend introduced me to years ago, i was so excited when the dud the legendary edition so i can play the first two games too!

The only time I’ve ever played a female in a game, were the Mass Effect ones because Garrus is...well...we just click and I adore him. I’ll be damned to not let him be in my squad. And the only time I had him stay out of a mission, was when we had to go into that containment zone. Not to mention, I do my best to keep him out of the fire while fighting. (Telling him to stay behind a wall a good twenty yards behind me, out of the fighting) But of course he never listens and comes to fight by my side. Everytime. I Love you Garrus.

Yes, they make a great romance pair, indeed. On a differente note, I'm sorry if you don't find this FemShep attractive but I was personally quite happy with the way she looked, and she was even better in ME3. :)

LOL! No problem. :) Yes, I was able to import from ME2 but I had made a few modifications to the game using the Gibbed Saved Editor (for Xbox) and for some reason, the romance part didn't work correctly in ME3. It seemed that my Femshep didn't want to keep things going with Garrus, which isn't what I wanted her to do at all... I tried it a few times but to no avail. And that's why I never uploaded the ME3 part of the romance here. I might give it another shot at some point but I was very disappointed and I don't really feel like starting ME2 all over again with the same character... :(
I know -- it's a VERY long game -- my first play through was over 60 hours. I could not get the romance carried through to ME3 either, but I think that was a glitch with Origin. (I really dislike Origin) I've seen ME3 clips that suggested they continued the romance but not much more.
The best ME2 end result I ever had was one crew member killed (Jack) and subsequent play throughs never beat that, I always lost more crew members for some reason. You really have to have played a perfect game or you don't get the perfect ending. I just finished my 4th play through and I think that will be it. (Lost 4 crew, playing on renegade. Dang!) I tried playing as the male Shephard once but didn't care for the male voice acting and started over. I started other romances but never felt the chemistry (lol) like with Garrus and started over. It's fun watching others' results with different scenarios, though.
ME3 was a good game, but fell short of ME2. I'm very disappointed they aren't carrying the same characters into the 4th game. That was one of the greatest achievements of ME2, you became invested in the characters, and the writing was pretty witty at times. What games these days have a Mordin character singing a song from Pirates of Penzance? Or dispensing embarrassed sexual advice? That was video game gold, you just don't see any of that anymore. Well, I'm rambling. Nice to meet another big fan!

I didn't want to cheat on Liara so I primarily planned on no romance at all but then there was Garrus and the chances of getting back with Liara seemed so vague, I assumed she'll understand.
Thane sitting silently in the backseat was unnecessarily funny to me

Old video but your Shepard looks great. Most people either make them too perfect or they just end up ugly, it takes a lot of work to make someone who actually looks human.
Thank you very much! I know what you mean by the "too perfect" look. But those Shepards are usually created on PC using some intricate mods. I created mine on the Xbox 360 at the time, and the only thing I actually "modded" on her face was the eye colour. :) But yeah, I remember working on her for hours and repeating the intro scene in the Ceberus lab dozens of times before I was satisfied with the end result! LOL! Good times...

The love interest dies near the end of ME 1 then I think you still get the paramour 1 achievement (if you need it that is) and that way you free yourself up for a ME 2 romance
Garrus is the best character in entire trilogy. Dude was an absolute ride or die until the end and very clearly cared so damn much about Shepard

How to get to that after-shower scene? I’ve already ‘talked all the talks’, finished all the additional missions, but can’t reach that shower scene. Should i go to omega relay to open it? Don’t want to lose my romance line with this dude in mass effect 3
Once you've completed the Suicide mission, go back to Shep's cabin and all you need to do is go to your message terminal. As soon as you approach it, you'll be prompted to call up your love interest for a little cuddling. And I'm pretty sure you can do it as many times as you want. :)

Man, garrus is my favorite character but I have a really hard time not finding the romances in Mass Effect feeling kind of forced and awkward.
Maybe it's partly because I play femshep and the super assertive woman is not my style.
Yeah, none of the male love interests really pursue femShep, it seems, which really irritates me because the women are practically throwing themselves at you, which, no. Just. No. Het female player, do NOT want to go there, thanks. (Although nobody could pay me to go for Jacob the Jerk aka Mr. 'Six Months Is Forever to Wait'.) What's worse is that my Shep would *like* female friends, but female bros, no sex or flirting or anything, but the writers can't manage that for some reason. Frankly, one of the few flaws in the series is how utterly annoying it is not to be able to have a conversation with another female character that doesn't have forced flirtation somewhere. Kelly is the WORST. No, thanks. I'll feed my own damn fish.
My femShep would *totally* be down to be friends with the salty bartender on Illlium, though. You *know* it would be great to sit down and do some serious drinking and listen to her stories.
God okay, I’m not the only one. I’ve done Kaidan’s and currently going through Garrus’s romance and god it’s so awkward (admittedly I find Kaidan’s little slips when he talks to femshep a little cute. That’s the only level of “pursue” I can think of in these romances)
I’m hoping 3rd game is better bc I can’t survive the second hand embarrassment from how awkward they are.
I found out how you can save your love interest and I still mess it up. I played Paragon Shep and took Garrus and Samara. Forgetting that Samara ia attracted to paragon shep.
How do I get Mordin to talk about Garrus and Shepard?
You just need to have as many conversations with Mordin as possible before this one can be triggered. I didn't do it when I was romancing Thane and therefore I missed out on it... :(

Are those scenes after the Reaper battle only for the console version? Playing it on PC and didn't get to see them.
From what I've heard and read, those scenes are also available on PC, not just for Garrus but for all LIs. Once you've completed the Suicide mission, you go back to Shep's cabin and all you need to do is go to your message terminal. As soon as you approach it, you'll be prompted to call up your LI for a little cuddling. And I'm pretty sure you can do it as many times as you want. :)

So sorry about the very late reply! But yeah... you really need to choose the option that says "We could ease stress together". But if you did a Save not too long before that conversation, you can easily correct that. 🙂
I'm using this as my conversation things so I can roll back a save before the suicide mission got to remain loyal to liara but I need that paramour 3 trophy still

I'm guessing you're referring to Zaeed Massani? I had him on my squad along with Miranda for that part of the game. So I take it you played the game without him? If so, it's a pity because he's a really great squad mate and funny as hell. :)

It doesn't matter. You can still romance him if you do or don't.
I opted to spare Sidonis. When you do, you get more context on Sidonis perspective and how remorseful he is. It also allows for some nice dialogue between Shepherd and Garrus. He reflects upon it more and eventually agrees with you. It's better like that IMO.
I like killing Sidonis cuz he killed Garrus’ crew and he had to die. He is a piece of shit
Thank you for posting this and satisfying my curiosity. Love Garrus as a bro, TOTALLY getting his back and vice versa, but no, not at all interested romantically. That's not a bad thing, either. Friends who will die for you *without* sex are a breed apart. (No pun intended...)

Haha! 😍 I had almost forgotten about that one... And yes, it is part of the main game but you really need to time your conversations with Mordin correctly in order to get it. I really wish I had known about this when I did a romance with Thane but at least it wasn't too late for good 'ole Garrus. :D
Yes, the timing is so important. I love talking with Mordin, but he attempted the sex talk before I'd started to romance anyone so I missed out on most of it. Still got the "we're about to probably die so might as well" scene but that was it. :-/

I can see why you would think that. Garrus is quite the renegade himself, but I have to disagree. I think Paragon Shep helps him become a better person by reining in his reckless, self-destructive traits.
Paragon Shepard is best in my opinion. The renegade choices are like, Garrus: “let’s go kill that guy” and Shep: “ok”. Whereas paragon dialogue has Shep challenging Garrus to be more thoughtful, careful and generally trying to be a better person. I think it builds their relationship better and has more interesting dialogue.
Hmm, for some reason, I remember Garrus saying something along the lines of "I don't have a fetish for your species, but why the Hell not."
He does say that actually. I think it's at the end of the game when you're about to go on the suicide mission, if I'm not mistaken.
