What has become of this Pietenpol project? I didn't see any other updates in your videos yet. I purchased a rebuild project this summer and have the old Piet almost ready to fly again after recovering, rigging, changing out fuel lines and all the other fun things that I've done to it this fall. Good to see more Pietenpols being brought back to life.
Hi, good question. As you may know, that Piet was donated to our EAA chapter. Well, national EAA does not allow chapters to own and fly aircraft. Go figure. It took a while to get the Piet regestered with EAA 280 as the owner. Now Jim and a few others have been working on our Time To Fly museum and we just recently were given our 501 C-3 non profit status so EAA 280 sold the Piet to the museum and we just got registration with the museum listed as the owner. We are now getting quotes for insurance from Avemco and Falcon. Looks like Jim and I will be the only pilots covered while we fly off the required test hours. Look for a video soon.
+pinkdispatcher Hi I am not sure how I lost my video's but it went down like this. My grandson spent a month with us over the summer and he loves to play interactive games with other people on the computer. One night I had my youtube channel up when he requested some computer time so I minimized my youtube channel and turned the computer over to him. Now I had what I thought was a pretty darn good firewall protecting that computer so I was not worried about getting a virus.....Well, I was wrong. The next day that computer was a mess. I took it to the techs. at geek squad to find what had happened. They told me that my computer was infected with a count down virus and the fix was a new hard drive and we would lose every thing we had stored on that computer. I ok'd the repairs and went out and bought a new computer since we really did need to have two computers any way. Well after hooking it up and going through the windows 10 set up I pulled up my youtube site and to my horror I found my video's gone. I am still at a loss as to why. UA-cam tells me they can not be recovered. Well I am sick about it but I just have to start over. I lost about 40 video's, two years of effort and countless hours editing them but it does not help crying the blues about it. Stay tuned though because I will not quit. Tailwinds.....
+Dwain Marcus Oh no, that's sounds pretty bad; I'm really sorry. So glad to hear you're not giving up, and I'm looking forward to more videos. Was anything from the old computer salvageable? Maybe some of the video raw material so you can re-upload more stuff? That would be great. Thank you for the answer, and all the best. Fly safe!
+pinkdispatcher Hi, I had three video's saved on one of my cameras but all else is lost. Thanks a lot for the concern , I appreciate it a lot...Tailwinds.....
omg I want to rip my face off! nobody makes a complete video set for building any one plane! mark it everyone has 'how to build wing spars' and says 'the next video will be posted shortly and 50 years later STILL NO NEW POSTS ARRRRRG! LOL
Well wkdemers, please do not rip your face off ok. I found myself sidelined last year with hernia surgery then soon after I had surgery for prostate cancer so I must confess to not being in the shop for most of this year. Sorry. I hope to soon be in the shop to start a new series on aircraft wood work starting with the very basics and then each step along the way for building a wing for a very, very rare experimental aircraft from about 1927 or so. Again, Sorry about the delay my friend.
Love the old model airplanes hanging up.
genial ce petit bolide vraiment sympat!!!!!
