Hi Becky, thank you for this video. I just got this template for Christmas! But I need a marker or pencil to use with this template that will come out with water or with ironing. Will that pencil you use come out? The holes in this template are too skinny for my washable marker.

Debbie Richardson I don’t like wash-our pencils. I used a graphite pencil with a sharp point. If you mark lightly, it doesn’t show. If the fabric is light I use a 9mm white fabric pencil like the one from Sewline. Hope this helps :-).

I know there is also a square template. You can find it here: www.pieceocake.com/shop/c/p/Postcard-Project-1-Trip-Around-the-World-from-Jen-Kingwell-Designs-x35404945.htm

Does the grain line matter and have to go in direction shown on template?

I am a believer in being casually off-grain if the situation calls for it. On a diamond, 2 parallel sides should be mostly on-grain, and the other 2 not. Unless there is a design in the fabric that you want to take advantage of.

I don’t have one of her curved templates at this time, but I might in the future. Good question!

    "You take your fabric." Huh-what?

That’s a Southern-ism. We who live in the southern part of the US would say that, perhaps instead of ‘place your fabric on the table.’
