    Probably the best video I have seen about riding switch backs. You both do an excellent job of breaking it down to smaller size bites. You earned a sub.

    This was the first of your tutorials I found and I'm really impressed! Your discussion of technique was exactly what I was taught at a recent clinic, but you include more drills than they did, which should be super helpful. I see it's been four months since you published this so I really hope you do more!

      Thanks for the awesome feedback!! We are working on the next video and hope to be able to make them on a more regular basis… life is hectic though and making the time is the biggest challenge. But no worries - we will prevail and will soon put another tutorial out. Your words of encouragement mean the world to us . Thank you 👊😁

    Welcome back!!!! These are awesome to watch and really do a clear job of explaining the physics of it all. Watching the circles drill has made me realize I really need to get a frame that fits me. Would you guys possibly entertain the idea of a video down the road about sizing, bar lengths and angles, etc? Keep it up!!

    Great videos guys. I'm just trying to get into mountain biking after a 25 year layoff, and everything has changed so much, the bikes, the tech and most of all how you ride. We used to lean back on everything, that was always the advice, but your explanations as to why that's not a good thing, really resonate with how I felt doing them. Keep up the great work guys.

    "... might not make the switchback." This is a gentle way of saying " go off the cliff and tumble to your death." :-) Seriously, nice tutorial! Thumb up from me! You two provide instruction like real coaches, not like the media channel presenters I see here so often.

    I just discovered you two while specifically searching for downhill switchback tutorials. I love the progression you teach. Can you tell us how far apart you're putting the cones for each of the drills?

    • @vicwesmtb
      @vicwesmtb  Рік тому +2

      Hi Christine, thanks for the message! We first lay out the cones in a straight line around 2 to 3 bike lengths apart if riding a slalom.. We then bring them closer or further apart and wider apart according to what we are trying to do. Closer together and wide apart will be more difficult (Sharp Turns)And always test it to see how it feels. Make it easy enough to do when you start out and then slowly make it harder. It’s like working out a puzzle 🧩. Start slow and easy and progress towards speed and difficulty in small little steps 😉. Progress to sharp tight turns using cones first before hitting the trails. 😉👍

    • @vicwesmtb
      @vicwesmtb  12 днів тому +1

      @@user-by5ju2zz3s thanks for the message! Start with 8-10 ft then see how much smaller you can go. The smaller circle is around 6 ft radius, but once you get it super dialed on can go even smaller. Hope this helps! Cheers!! Wes 👊😎
