- "Completely Unnecessary!" you say?! YES, I reply! And You Too, Can Make this at Home if you choose. Its easy, and cheap! It cost me less than $20, all in - and can hook into a household garden hose. As a rule, water and electricity do not mix, so I did not include any spinning brushes, nor a drying area. This wash is meant to be used on scale trail parks, or at events. This wash unit can be hooked into a small 12v water pump, and can be used in a creek or water source - if a household water system is not available. As an added bonus, you can pump the water with as MUCH PRESSURE AS YOU WANT! If your at home though.. about 7gph is what you are going to get.
** Note ** Make sure your Truck is Waterproof, and you know how to perform routine maintenance, before and after all water/mud runs. Pay attention to your bearings.. I always make a sure my truck are water tight, and protected before exposing them to any wet situation.
What I used to make this Truck Wash:
1 PVC Pipe - 1/2" (8')
10 PVC 1/2" Elbows
4 PVC T Fittings
4 PVC Caps
2 PVC Couplings
1 Plastic Bilge Pump Hose with 3/4" fitting (for Hose Hose)
PVC Pipe Primer & Cement
Paint
The is a Top Spray bar (w/2 additional top side holes), a Bottom Spray bar (Undercarriage wash), 2 Side Washers, 2 Wheel Cleaners,
Now granted - there isn't an ENORMOUS amount of pressure from a 7gph hose, but there is certainly enough to make this effective and fun to use!
The Orange and White truck I used in this video is an RC4WD Trail Finder 2, with a Chevy K5 Blazer Body, and special paint job.

I have always wondered how the heck I was going to build a truck wash.. and I am enjoying the evolution of the idea... Be fore-warned - Electricity, Metal and Water do not mix. Ensure your Radio Control model is completely waterproof, and you know the risks associated with using RC's around Mud/Water! Have fun...! Hope you like this design
Man you seriously never cease to amaze me. May I suggest have a shallow pool in the area below where the truck enters so as to clean the wheels a bit more efficiently?

I would've built one where u could drive right thru, jus like dat one u have but drive thru, do away wit da low bar in da front....Where u can wash cars n trucks r u can flatten dat lower pipe where cars n truck can go thru....Jus a thght mite work!
They have at Lowe's or HD in the sprinkler area look for the "Drip System" parts, You can get tips that are pinched to spray in a fan pattern at all radius's you could ever want. ...They spray hard also, just drill out the PVC and screw in the tip of you're choice. Think it's like 5 bucks for bag of 10.
Then You'll Be Killin' it! ...Might blow off some stickers though.

there is adjustable flow ones also i use 100s of different drips and setups on the farm lowes or home depot has them with many different ways to configure them and you could use the semi flexible blank distribution tubing best way is get a cheap set that comes with multiple parts and try some things out and play around with it

Add sprayer nozzles from your local hydroponics store for more pressure. It will also fan the water. Thx for the video, it's very cool!

Love it! Get some high pressure garden sprinkler nozzle and screw them directly into the pvc

In the past, I have used a soaker hose that had issue areas for the same thing, but you have to have high pressure at the junction for it to work. Also, the side benefit of making the video is you were reminded that your truck needs some love after being used...

You can also put a air line on it to push the water out with a little more force. Has to be well regulated to below the water pressure. If not it will want to push air back into the water main. We had a set up like that at work to clean parts.

Wonder how effective different spray nozzles would be that could give you the illusion of higher pressure without adding an electric pump i.e windshield washer nozzles or spray nozzles from drip irrigation systems I believe they also have one way check valves that would probably help.

That’s awesome!, great idea. Took off quite a bit of mud and I know Alberta through to Manitoba the mud is super sticky and drys hard like clay, that’s why you see metal blades outside most country houses by the doors to scrape off the sticky dirt from your shoes!!!. My parents had a farm in Fannystelle Manitoba so I know!, lol. Just maybe a bit more water pressure and it will be even better. From your BC neighbor

UA-cams kinda' Hinky That Way. .....from time to time.
Low's or Depo. or about any hardware store will have Drip System Kits, the have little pressure heads that screw into PVC.
90's, 45's 180, every radius of spray, the heads designed for standard water pressure. Hard Pressure out the heads.
