- 🏁 Is the Formula 1 world about to witness a seismic shift? Rumors are swirling that Adrian Newey, the iconic designer behind Red Bull Racing's dominance, could be on the brink of leaving the team after 19 seasons. Sources suggest Newey may be growing discontent with his current situation, prompting speculation about his next move. Could Ferrari be his next destination? With reports indicating Newey's longing for creative freedom and his previous involvement in groundbreaking projects like the Aston Martin Valkyrie, the prancing horse seems like a plausible fit. Financial considerations also come into play, with Newey reportedly earning a hefty salary at Red Bull. Maybe merc has Newey in the bag and that’s what’s sparked talks between Toto and Max not just the Horndog problem. I do hope Ferrari gets him though.
Honestly Toto is my boi but i am kind of hoping he goes to Ferrari because i want Hamilton to get that NINTH title. Yep I am one of them LOL.@@JZ_3

So after 4 years, Red Bull’s dominance is coming to a possible end

It will be 5 WDC and 4 WCC at the end of 2025. 2026 is anyone's game at this point.
Not so sure.

2025 They probably clinch it. Though Mclaren and Ferrari will most likely challenge very fiercely. Max is just too powerful as a driver though, and will most likely end up the victor in the end.

He should go to Williams and make Albon and Sargent into precision instruments of speed and aeromatics.
He’s already has his time with them
He’s Newey,, not Thanos.
Sargeant a precision instrument! Newey is brilliant but can’t work wonders! 😂
If they moved from Excel to something more usable maybe it can be done.
Sargent is not F1 worthy. Not even Newey can help him.
Silly season got a whole lot sillier! Even Verstappen to Aston doesn’t look very far fetched now.
We're assuming Verstappen isn't part of the reason he doesn't want to stick around at Red Bull
@@WhiteG60 Have you seen the two in conversations? It looks like they get along well, now I'm not saying he isn't done with Jos on the other hand.
@@yoeriw7099 Yeah, I'm not trying to state one way or another. Just saying we don't know everything and can't assume anything. I know I wouldn't want to deal with Marko and/or Jos. Alonso would be kicking himself if he did for 2025.
If im Andretti, I'm furiously dialing my phone offering him a blank check.
@Lewythefly I'd argue coming to Andretti would be a new challenge and may pique his interest.
Lord knows how much I wish Newey would instead come back to Indycar and design the new chassis. Why settle for one team, when you can create for ALL THE TEAMS?
I think Dallara has that deal covered for a few more years. Considering the other competitors in the chassis manufacturers like Oreca, Ligier and Multimatic, i don't see Newey going in that direction.
I like this...although, it's probably something he can do (or consult) along with whatever else he decides to do.
I want to see him revolutionise a different kind of motorsport, rally or Dakar.
Maybe, just maybe, new spec car in indy: Ground effect indycar
That doesnt make sence, why designe one Car for everyone than make one for one team competing against other ppl and beating them.
Ferrari: We want you to come and work for us.
Newey: What are you offering?
Ferrari: We are checking.
Please go to Aston. Help alonso get one more win
I bet Alonso knew Newey was coming over before he signed his new contract.
That's actually a really good possibility@@AndyFromBeaverton
I can’t see him wanting anything to do with Aston while Stroll is still driving. It would be grating to have to deal with a team that enables strolls mediocrity with no accountability.
Naw, if Newey designs and runs the AM car, Lance will have a legit chance to win an F1 race. Papa Stroll will find that irresistable, and Aramco can pile up the cash high enough to compel nearly anyone. Hard to resist a billion samoleons...
@@AndyFromBeaverton wouldn't be surprised if Max followed him in '26, Honda there, Newey and some other old teammates. Would be the perfect time for Stroll to get booted too.
If he moves to Aston Martin, there will be a reunite with Honda...? That would be something....
I wouldn't be surprised if Max joined him there in '26 then either.

Love the fact that theres no clickbaits, no fake news. Just pure facts from this guy, my new fav youtuber.
Interesting. Please let it be Aston Martin, if there's anyone who deserves a car design with the potential to win championships - it's Fernando. And we know he's gonna be at Aston until at least 2026. And Honda is gonna be there as well. Newey already knows how to work around their engines.
Newey to Aston giving Alonso his 3 would be the greatest thing that could happen
Not the greatest, that will be Max breaking the record of the Micheal of having the most world championships. But i really wouldn't mind, Fernando is a great racer and a great guy. And then he retires after number three to give his seat to Max, who will continue working on the aforementioned record.
I cant dislodge the idea of Newey to Aston and the idea of a Vettel - Alonso team in the Valkyrie in WEC, imagine if they could pull the likes of Kobayashi
My bad if I am wrong but I am not sure if that's allowed. that Isn't there a criteria that you can't have 3 platinum licence holders? Or something like that. Because that kind of team would sweep through the Le Mans by a lead calculated in hours!
Good point, im not sure how Vettel and Alonsos careers would translate over to WEC, maybe they could be split across the cars
@@Urgrannytrannydid a quick google but im not entirely convinced but it looks like Hypercars restriction is “no bronze drivers”
@@tuppytheducky nah you right. I forgot Alonso's 2018-19 teammates Buemi, nakajima and Lopez are all Platinum drivers. So yeah ... looks like even a trio of Alonso-Seb-Max is possible in theory if Aston has the guts and resources to rope them all

Honestly, I do not think the decision of Aston vs Ferrari will come down to money. Both teams will give him mad cash. It is about placement vs prospects. Newey is old and has said that he said that he doesn't want to move his family again as it is very stressful. This is a massive negative for going to the Scudaria while working for Aston is far less of a commitment in that arena. But going to Ferrari gives you better facilities, greater prestige, probably more money and I think better opportunities for WEC or road car (while having your own Aston Martin car is glorious, having FERRARI designed by you is on another level)
AM will offer more money. With Aramco that won't be an issue
@@OnlineHipHopTV Ferrari have a lot of money too as proven by the Hamilton deal. They have a war chest for this kind of things. Aramco might have infinite money but Aramco spend money to have their name in place. Like being a title sponsor, or buying F1 or other things. They aren't going to spend infinte money for an 60-year-old engineer. Both Ferrari and Aston/Aramco will just offer the largest possible sum before it stops being reasonable of both of them to outbid themselves. Neither will be willing to pay their entire war chests to beat the other team for a single engineer.
Imagine if Ferrari offers him to design a super/hyper car and call it after him. "Ferrari Newey" - they would make a ton of money, and he gets an opportunity that very few people ever had.
Just thinking big picture.
*IF* Newey goes to SF, his influence on the cars will only really will be noticeable by the time LeClerc’s and Hamilton’s current contracts end.
I’m not sure if Hamilton will ever profit from such a move, timing wise.
i think is more time than that, imo his influence wont come into play like a decade in, he needs to restructure the whole thing, and is not only his gardening leave, is also the gardening leave from the people he hires down the line.
Which is why he isn't going there. Not to mention all the political BS they have over there, which is so normal there it isn't even news anymore, contrary to RB. No, if he leaves it is retirement, Newey has done it all, he is the GOAT of design in F1. But let's wait until tomorrow, all these rumours are nothing but BS.
I have an alternative theory as to Newey’s recent visit to Bologna Italy. What if it had nothing to do with Ferrari but actually Mercedes. Hear me out.
You know who’s from Bolgona? Kimi Antonelli. What if Kimi’s father invited Newey out to Italy to try and convince him to join Mercedes to help build his son, who’s supposed to be the next big talent to come to F1, a championship winning car? That might be why Mercedes is being quiet on the matter.
To have both Newey and Allison would be the technical dream team that would most likely be unstoppable.
@@-._.-._.-Sully-._.-._.- that Kimi kid isn’t even a rookie, do you actually think he has enough leverage to make the most successful F1 designer switch teams? Stop hyping this kid up.
@@ChuyR. his father is a very wealthy man. Owns a racing team of his own competing in some of the junior formulas. But money isn’t necessarily the reason, the kid has great potential to be the next big talent in F1. I feel like there is more people saying he’s overhyped than people actually hyping him.
His CV in the junior series is extremely impressive and making the jump from F4 and FR to F2 is almost like going from F3 to F1, it’s that big of a performance jump. His teammate is extremely hyped up yet outside of Saudi qualifying (and race obviously) Kimi has beaten him in every race and qualifying so far. He may not be smashing the competition quite yet but his improvement from race to race is very significant.
In Australia he qualified 2nd and was fighting for the podium positions in both the sprint and race against much more experienced drivers while Bearman failed to score any points that weekend. Kimi definitely has room for improvement but so each race he has made a marketable improvement. Some of his extremely dominant runs in the junior series started with him have a very poor start to the season before getting a hold of the car and destroying the competition.

2. View opportunities.
3. Decide if the rumor is false or true

Hehehe
I still think AM is the place for Adrian. I'd love to see that happen...and for Fernando to finally get to drive a Newey car! The Dream lives...😊
If he retires then we'll at least have a sort of even playing field....I like that
Newey + Alonso = Love
*=107 years
He needs hamilton more fs
As a lifelong Ferrari F1 fan my heart says yes but in reality I just don't see it happening. There's more to it than just joining Ferrari it would mean completely uprooting to Marinello and as much as I love what Fred is doing Adrian will never get the kind of autonomy he's enjoyed during his tenure at Redbull under Dietrich. Ferrari management can't help but interfere with the F1 team, Adrian knows this, we all know this. I'll keep enjoying the content and speculation but I know it won't happen.
If Newey was to join another team I'd see him working with another F1 champion he admires and that's Alonso at Aston, but in reality I just see him retiring from the sport entirely. He has nothing left to prove, the seasons are getting quite long with lots of travel and I'm guessing he just wants to enjoy his life now.
Barnard didint move to Marenello. And that was in the dark ages. Admitidley, they there was a civlil war where they were building barnards car and the lead italian TD, but still.
Ferrari management is probably the most free out of the options, with very little corprate interference.
Stroll was infamous for micromanaging, Hell have to deal with 3 other TDs at Mclaren or a freshly restructured team.
And Merc is a sinking ship, and possible clashes with Allison (even tho Allison is massivly overrated).
A realistic ferrari fan, they do exist. Couldn't agree with you more, he has done it all, there is nothing left to prove. He is the GOAT of F1 design and with that retirement is the most likely scenario.
Nothing is impossible, keep your hopes up Newey to Ferrari is possible
Another banger from law. You were quick with this one
Two videos in one day, we’re not worthy. 😮
I hear from pretty reliable sources that it's more likely he's going to retire. He just bought a $50 million yacht and has been very vocal about his extreme frustration with the 2026 regs.
He could easily use this as a chance to try with a new team. A change is as good as a rest
@@LawVS 2026 is gonna be wild. 2025 will give us a small taste for it.
@@LawVS Not when he has done it all and is considered the GOAT of F1 design. Newey isn't going anywhere but retirement, he has nothing left to prove.
Depends on the language of the non compete but he could retire and be free of the non compete. It depends, if the non compete says that is relevant or not.
@@Ins0mnia365 probably more likely to suck ass
The only way Newey joins AM is if Lance gets the Boot. Doesn't Newey like having input on driver selection? Or is that old news.
Been waiting for the goat f1 content creator to speak on the goat car designer move.
I mean, with Jos, Horner, the Red Bull drink company, and more are fighting for power in the F1 team. I'd like him going to Aston Martin with Fernando Alonso.
The BBC article openly states he believes he can leave to start with another team in 2025. I’m not sure gardening leave applies here - or at least the source of this story doesnt
There could be ways to negate it. Money.
He is an engineer, not a lawyer. There is no way in heck that RB is just going to let him leave to another team without gardening leave. Not that it maters though, he isn't leaving for anything but retirement. Newey is the GOAT of F1 design, he has seen and done it all, he has nothing to prove.
With regulation change won't need to sit out if 2026 cars not done yet...
Adrian Newey is a living legend. Wherever he goes next will be his swan song. The Hypercar angle is really on point, a final bow before going on to pastures green to enjoy life unfettered and free. As for where Max goes, he will go where Max decides because he wants to win - he is not attached to a brand, but a car, just 4 wheels and a rocket for an engine. That is all.
Please go to Aston Martin, Mr Newey
if this is true then man this is not how i wanted red bull to go down because they weren't beaten by another team on track they just got beaten within their own team
4:47 one problem with HP is that it's really connected to the conflict in the middle east right now so I personally would rather have them not be there
They are! Tell me more pls

I am impressed at how fast you edit the viseos😮 great piece of news !
Do you even take a break from f1? Two videos in 4 hours! :O
Maybe he could join F1 and become technical director like Ross Brawn. Be involved in designing future car chassis and making the new future regulations.
5:10 Newey started at Fittipaldi Automotive. He was hired right out of university by Harvey Postlethwaite when Fittipaldi bought Walter Wolf's team. Their car, the Fittipaldi F8, was not good and Newey left F1 to work with March and built some very successful IndyCars before moving up to March's F1 project and staying on when March became Leyton House. His wiki article is pretty poorly structured in that regard as it devotes a single sentence in his "early life" section to his first stint in F1.
Thanks for the second video today Lawrence! Actually made my day a lot better :)
Great content! The only channel that doesn't hype rumours!
Aston would see him continue with Honda design team on 2026 regulations and good offer from Stroll...
Your channel is phenomenal. Are these all one take videos? How do you do it?? I look forward to each one.

you're welcome!
Hey Law! You mind sharing what background music you use? I really like this song!
Sure! It's a UA-cam audio library piece called Half Cool by Gemini
Thank you!!
Thank you so much for staying away from all the rumors that every other F1 site couldn’t. I unsubbed from 2 channels I used to like over the tongue wagging. Keep up the good work.
I think, and Newey once said he is interested in sailing. More direct Americas Cup. Its the only Sport remotely close to F1 in terms of spending and technical developement there is. RedBull owns a Team there too and its one of the challengers. Since its all about Aero dynamics and Fluid flow, Newey has some experience in these areas and will surely be welcome. Id personally love to see him at Alinghi or maybe even ETNZ or others.
Whatever he decides to do, he can pick whatever he fancies. The prestige at Ferrari, the wins at Red Bull, the challenge of building a team at Audi and Aston. Looking at his age, it is probably going to be his last hurray in the sport and to me he looks more like the man to go for a challenge than for prestige. So I would guess Aston Martin, with a new factory, new wind tunnel, Honda engines, Honda's new factory around the corner, the limitless money of daddy Stroll and Aramco and his beloved Valkyrie now a proper race car will make a very appealing option for him. And he would get a lot more freedom there than in the snakepit of Maranello. Although, Ferrari as his last hurray, that would be a proper crown on his career.
AM is most likely, after retirement that is, he'll probably just retire.
@@EntropicExergy Don't think Newey truly can retire. That brain of his just can't stop designing and thinking. He talked a few times about how he loved the summer break, because he could just sit in his garden with his notebook and sketchbook doing work from home and being more productive with nobody interrupting him. He will retire from F1 one day, but he will only truly stop designing stuff on the day he is no longer around. As for now, I think he wants a final hurray in F1, that last challenge. And will continue on to design boats, cars, planes, whatever.
It's either Aston Martin or Ferrari. Newey always regretted not working with Lewis and Fernando
Ferrari isn't going to happen and retirement is also an option. So his choice will be retirement or AM.
We just had a video last night damn law unexpected
Can I just say, I remember when this channel didn’t feature the attic. You grew mate keep it up
Thank You for your Dedication
Love that Law came out with two banger videos in one day. Where do you think he's going to? I have money on AM or retirement.
Aston would be fascinating but probably will be Ferrari. Last big team to work for.
You sir, have earned a new subscriber. Top content!
Don't forget it still took him a few years to get the RB to be a race winning car. So where ever he goes it will rake a while. But maybe no AM because that is the team where most of his other RB guys have gone too
How about Audi? they could entice him for 2026 ... but no idea if he would go for that.
Love seeing your subs grow. U deserve it
Imagine if he does retire - a post-Newey F1
Most likely scenario if he is to leave RB.
This channel is getting popular I love it! Well deserved
Didn't Toto recently say that it's worse to lose an engineer than a driver" 🤔 I wonder what he knows
Personally, my take on it all is Adrian has had success with more than just Red Bull in his career but when I look back through it all I noticed that he didn’t really have two successful regulation periods in a row, so I’m questioning if he could be looking to retire after his contract, knowing that he would be retiring on top based on the way that Red Bull has been winning. I’m questioning if he’s taking the route of retirement potentially before the new regulations come in so that he gets to go out on top. Unfortunately a lot of the time people don’t remember remember all the good times when a significant person in sport retires at the bottom, strategically and realistically, I would think it would make sense for him to retire from Formula 1 and potentially go work in another series if he wanted to potentially a series with Crazy travel, and some thing where he would be able to relax more and have more free time. That’s my take on it all but realistically, with his age retirement at the top of the sport, with Red Bull would be a very fitting way for him to end his career formula and would still leave the door open for him to go work in other forms of motorsport. Especially where he knows he’d have a gardening leave year before he could go work anywhere else I could definitely see him retiring at the top of the sport. Many people are saying he’s going to other projects and I could see him going to a WEC project or something like that I’m saying, I see him retiring out of Formula 1.
Wow, you're fast, well done.
Could be faster.
10:12 It should be known that the AM Valkyrie project was intended to prevent Newey from going to Ferrari
I think Aston Martin would be the more logical option for Newey over Ferrari considering it's not far away from Red Bull. He can get everything there that Ferrari can offer him without having to move house.
True and he really admires Alonso
I need Newey in RedBull just so that he can make the RedBull X come true. At least without the fan and with a less powerful engine.
Ok I have a theory
Alonso could have had a contract as long or short as he wanted but Alonso chose to extend for 2 years
Imagine if it was an El Plan,
Alonso deliberately waited to see what would happen in 2026, whether Newey would move on and whether the Honda engine would have good performance.
Maybe Aston knew Newey was leaving RedBull and could have told Alonso about this and promised him a car by Newey, and maybe Stroll stayed at Aston just as a temporary fill-in until Max and Newey moved on from RedBull.
Just think about it, 2026 will be a big gamble for Max, new regulations with a Ford-developed Honda engine (come on there's no way Ford can develop a Honda engine as good as Honda itself).
Aston is the most likely option for Newey and Max, as you said Newey likes Aston Martin even Max also has a lot of Aston cars, Aston will have Honda engines that Newey and Max are familiar with, and Aston is willing to pay anything for professionals like Newey and Max especially Aramco's investment is getting bigger
Great thought and yes Newey to Aston next year working on W.E.C. for one year and the F1 car in 2026. Max moves to Aston in 2026 or 2027.
Ummm... excuse me. He started his career in IMSA GTP and IndyCars, with his March GTP winning the IMSA championship two years running and winning the Indy 500 as Bobby Rahal's race engineer. It was his work for March in the U.S. that led to his transition to March's F1 operation (aka Leyton House).
Good stuff .. Top rung ! Through the roof ..
Honestly, I see Newey retiring after this year. He's earned it.
And he has nothing left to prove, he is the GOAT of F1 design. Has gotten more WDC's and WCC's than any other designer has and he has designed the most dominant car (ok, it was driver dominance in reality, Max made the RB19 the beast that it looks like) last year and possibly even more this year. The man has finished the metagame of F1 and can retire happily.
If Adrian goes to Mercedes (and they really need him).. Max might follow him?
So you are a Merc fan not a Ham one. Interesting.
Newey wouldn't move to Aston Martin as long as Lance is the 2nd driver. He'd see that his expertise is all a waste when the car is capable of winning races while the 2nd driver goes out in Q1.
Lance moves to W.E.C. in 2025 and Newry works on WEC car for 1 year. Max moves to Aston in 2026.
"Mission Winnow. You get it, mission win right now!" 4:47
Turns out I did not get it. That's been flying over my head this whole time.
over Ferrari heads as well!
I saw this topic pop up on my frontpage yesterday I think and I have to say it is quite a testament that the first thing I thought was "Eh, if there is anything to it Law will make a video on it".
This is huge news. Massive. Gargantuan. It's bigger news than any driver moving, retiring or even dying. Adrian Newey is pretty much the biggest fish in Formula 1. In my opinion, he's more influential than any driver. He's the man.
You know, I remember you saying Newey hates politics. I also read something that said that Newey would rather not leave his home in Britain. In that case, a move to Aston Martin makes far more sense for Newey than Ferrari would. They have a world champion in Fernando Alonso. They have a really big name in motorsport in Aston Martin (maybe not in F1, but in morotsport in general). They have tons and tons of ambition, even going as far as to pull Honda out of retirement for 2026. They're already working off of a concept based on Newey's existing work, so transferring the knowledge would be no problem whatsoever. You mentioned that they already have a relationship with Newey with the Valkyrie, Valhalla and what was going to be the mid-engine Vanquish before Daddy Stroll axed that project, so he'd most definitely have a lot of freedom in the company to design cars to his heart's content. And if all that weren't enough, they're practically the underdogs in this story. But most importantly, the environment there is far more positive, confident and free of politics than anything at Ferrari could even dream of being. It's basically his move to Red Bull all over again, except with far more flexibility offered to him. Aston Martin has Newey's name written all over it. He'd be a fool to turn down any offer from them given the right conditions
Regarding the supposed gardening leave clause, we know driver contracts aren't worth the paper they're signed on, I wonder how much more leverage Newey's contract may have
If this happens, I would love to see him go back to Williams. Nice challenge, will probably have all the freedom in the world too, and what a way to sign off as the guy that brings them back!
Mercedes might not be as unlikely of a candidate for Newey as one might think. Hear me out.
I have an alternative theory as to Newey’s recent visit to Bologna Italy. What if it had nothing to do with Ferrari but actually Mercedes. You know who’s from Bolgona? Kimi Antonelli. What if Kimi’s father invited Newey out to Italy to try and convince him to join Mercedes to help build his son, who’s supposed to be the next big talent to come to F1, a championship winning car? We have heard over the last month that AM had made a big offer for him and now this news. It could be there where he is going.after all haven't alot of the RB gone there in the last year or 2?
Newey is in the process of building a f1 inspired track car for redbull that will put the valkry to shame and it isnt supposed to be out untill 2026
I watched a great documentary about a new custom sailboat Adrian Newsy jointly designed had built and is moored in Italy along the Amalfi coast. In it he clearly stated that spending more time on this boat is his goal. Just so happens it’s not to far from Maranello. Hmmm I wonder. I would love to see him at Ferrari.
its something wrong with the audio?
I want him at Sauber. I can barely cope with this shitshow
Adrian, masterful as he is, cannot fix their woeful pit stops.
El Plan!
Imagine newey moves to Mercedes and verstappen follows
Second video today I’m so happy omg 😭😭😭😭😭😭
He should go to Haas just for the bit. Would be amazing to see Hulk get his podium and K-mag lead a lap finally
Question! Does the “gardening leave” clause affects the team principal as well? Is that why it’s funny that Binotto was in his farm on DTS? 😂
I’m feeling the Aston move.
IMO Redbull hyped up Newey like one of his "Extreme Sports" athletes and everyone drank the Koolaid, the real genius behind the RB20 could actually be Pierre Wache who as far as I know is staying, thus making this another 4D Chess move by Horner.
Redbull and Max will dominate the new regulations as well, no doubt in my mind.
Still never seen an official comment about A.N. leaving RB, only speculation, like the talks from Mercedes to Max.
I think Adrian will go to Aston Martin.
I actually prefer and think “HP Scuderia Ferrari” sounds a lot better compared to “Scuderia Ferrari HP”🤔
Hulk signed to Audi?
That's tomorrow's video!
@@LawVSas I think you called it recently, bang-on Law!
I'm surprised that he's only getting paid £10m a year, I figured it would be like £25m a year considering what he's done and he'd still be in the "top three employee's" thing for the cost cap. Hope to see him at Ferrari as a swan song before he leaves. McLaren would be interesting and as a McLaren fan that would be good to see but for F1 history sake, I'd prefer him to go to Ferrari with Hamilton and Vasseur and see what they can do.
Not going to ferrari, the inventors of the team politics Newey despises so much.
Multiple times world champion, engineering genius and a French principal… I saw this movie before and Love it!
I think he should choose a higher difficulty this time and turn Haas into a winning team.
In a Netflix documentary, Toto Wolff emphasized the need to "break the cycle." Interestingly, Red Bull Racing has managed to achieve this independently, rather than relying on a competitor to disrupt the pattern.
damn you have ben climbing that ladder a lot the past days
Surprise move would be to Audi. They have the money for him.
