My 9 year old son sparring at the tournament in Hayward. He was behind in the score after the first round (2-1). But he keeps his composure and gets back into the fight and comes back to win the match and once again took home gold.

I love sparring, but sadly my instructors made me focus more on the poomsae (kata or forms) aspect. I only spar with my friends after the lessons without protective gears (dangerous but fun and I like it).

part 3 People also tend to throw messier kicks when wearing shin guards that is why you need to train with them first and i will not be starting soon because i have a tournament tomorrow and there is not enough time to get used to them

I love doing tournaments but i remember at my first tournament there were no girls in my belt level and instead of putting me with the boys they put me with the girls that were 3 beats ahead of me and been to a million tournaments. I only got 3rd in hand to hand sparing and i literally cried. They couldn't put me with the boys cause somebody got offended and sued cause their kid had to compete with boys
