Your patchwork jumpsuit will constantly evolve. In 10 years time just imagine what materials you'll have added to it, and how different it'll look from now! Love your jumper and how it's turned out. It looks adorable and the outfit as a whole is just perfect 🤗xx
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I found your honesty about the front fly hilarious- no details needed as to what your "reservations" are about it. Thanks, I needed a laugh today. :) Your upcycling and renewing of the jumpsuit and top look brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
I love watching your upcycling videos. You give me so much inspiration. I am from the US and there was someone from another country who was watching your videos. I was excited to see someone else that watches your channel. Thank you!
Dear Scarlett, really Love your upcycles and I'm happy that those pieces will be worn again 😊 The jumper is cute and the added bird is great. Maybe you can add further scraps and fabrics to this while mending this piece of your history 😉 The sweater was really beautiful from beginning on - thecsewing machine is adorable! You transformed it to fit your style and I really love how the ribbon and sewing needle suit the sewing machine. At the beginning I really thought you would go with new puffy sleeves from the curtain. Maybe an option for the next sweater 😁 xoxo from Germany Stephanie
So fun to see your first upcycled garment - what lovely memories in the fabrics and now it looks even better ~ i love boro 💙 The top looks more your style now ❤ I always enjoy your videos and seeing what you're working on ~ you're so inspiring ❤❤❤
Beautiful lace you pulled out for the jumper. The whole jumper looks terrific. I love how you used the japanese stitching to mend your hole in pants. And you can't see it. What a great outfit with great results.
@@sueburton6920 haha I promise I didn’t take your comment that way! 💜 when I finished it, I thought it looked similar to something I would have had as a child - I love that I can make clothes like that!🥹
Thanks for doing the kind of thing that we can learn from! Your skills are better than mine but i can try to do the kind of things you do. I like that you're wearing bib overalls. I just got some at a garage sale. Then i cut up an embroidered shirt that my grandparents gave me from a trip to Turkey 50 years ago or so. They are long gone and I'm glad i still have the shirt. So i cut out birds and designs from the shirt and sewed them onto the overalls. One bigger piece on the bib, one on the left thigh and one on the right hem. They're bright and cheerful but i wasn't sure if a 64 year old woman should be wearing these overalls like i did as a teenager. But why not!? They're cute and i like them.
The jumpsuit is fab, love the sewing machine sweatshirt. Sashiko is the embroidery technique, not boro. Boro means rag, it is not embroidery but rather the used worn fabric/garments that may have been stitched with sashiko. All good, all lovely, I'm just a nerd about using the right terms and have been doing a lot of sashiko myself lately. Love your patterns but it is always cool to see what people make for themselves vs what they make to sell.
Are those small Japanese sewing stitches called Sashiko embroidery? One of the podcasts I watch from Sweden has taken some lessons in that and yours looks like it. You saved that sweatshirt and made it your own!!!
I rather like that the "afrayed" label is frayed around the edges. It emphasizes the clever name.
Haha thank you!
Sachiko stitches on boro patches sounds like a great idea to try.
Love your updates. That ribbon & applique needle idea was brilliant to compliment the sewing machine. I bet your Mom's friend will love it too.
Thank you! Yes, you’ve reminded me to send a picture to her!!

Haha happy to make you laugh!😂🙌
It turned out cute, I'm sure your auntie would rather have you add to it and wearing the jumper than just leaving it unloved in a drawer. ❤
