It’s cheap and it’s freedom of choice but don’t be surprised or feel sad when your local bike shop closes down and the only choice is Halfords or AliExpress

The local shops aren't selling the unique items off aliexpress, so often you just can't get the things you want.

My LBS turned my business away, and was rude about it. Halfords were helpful, even pointed out an offer that saved me money (no up-sell). Purely anecdotal, everywhere's different. I tried my best to go 'local'.

Cost of living crisis, single dad, saving money where I can helps. I bought a chain from an online shop as it was 1/2 the price of my lbs. I’m all for supporting local businesses, but it’s not my responsibility to keep them afloat by paying more than I need to.

I buy plenty of bits and bobs from Aliexpress , always fast delivery :) .. ordered a carbon seat post for my new Ti gravel frame which I ordered same day as my seat post and the seat post came quicker than the frame and the frame only had to come 100 odd miles !

Yep narrow wide, I replaced it with a sram flat top chain and it fixed the issue.
