Here's a thought. During the American revolution one of the biggest advantages of the minute Men/militia were the fact that they hunted and traveled through these woods daily. A lot of the British soldiers were very unfamiliar with the terrain. A lot of people now don't even know what is two streets over from their house

Dogs like pumpkin and pumpkin is very good for them. So to grow pumpkins is a great dog food in shtf scenario. I have several quarts of pumpkin canned and you can also freeze pumpkin as well as keep them in a cold storage situation such as a root cellar
Yep, we grow a pile of pumpkins each year primarily as dog food supplemental. They grow easily and are fairly low maintenance, and our dogs love it. We also freeze-dry the skins for the dogs and use the seeds, so almost the entire pumpkin gets used.
After contracting Giardia in the 70's in the Eastern Oregon mountains above 7,000 feet I would prefer to filter, boil and / or treat the water even from a spring. Not fun but a great weight loss plan.

It happened to me in Chicago. I put the accelerator on the floor. They all jumped out the way at the last second. I had my kids in the car. I was not about to stop and get drug out of the car worked for me.😊
The falling tree thing is legit. People look for the obvious but sometimes it's freak trees. I had one fall right where my head would have been in a tarp shelter I had set up the night before. Thankfully I was elsewhere because I knew wind was coming through.

The TN National Guard train in that area from time to time. You should be carrying a topographical map and a lensatic compass with you, and practicing your land navigation, orientation, and terrain association skills, along with practicing your tracking skills.

cold weather is best to explore in the southern states due to the fact that most of the ticks and chiggers are not out, live in a place called Witts Springs Arkansas for 3 years when i was in high school liked it and thought about moving back a few times but then i remember my things why i dont live there now TICKS CHIGGERS COPPERHEADS HUMIDITY TORNADOES

a good alternative for pocket carry is the SOF-T tourniquet. it's on par with CAT in terms of quality and reliability, with a similar method of application, some parts are metal, instead of polymer, like the windlass, and it packs much flatter than the CAT.

You need to check out shield arms. And get you some of those 15 rounders for that 43. They are just as reliable as the factory 10 rounders and are the same size 😂 I have several.
