I’m finally upgrading from my iPhone 7+ and wanted something different. So, I pre-ordered the Z flip 3 and this will be my first foldable phone. My only concern is how dust resistant this will be because I’m outdoors 80% of the time.
I agree with you I've had the z fold 2 this whole year. At first you're not sure if you made the right decision but once you start using a foldable device on a daily basis you really start to get it, you just do. There's a lot you can do on this device that you can do on a regular slab phone but it's so much better on a fold. It's a powerhouse in your pocket and this is coming from a Note user for years. I'm not a professional photographer but if I was I'd have a separate camera so the cameras were not a big deal for me to be honest with you that's the only down side I see, and that is definitely not a deal breaker. Great review!!!
I'm getting on that Flip train. I've learned that I enjoy a pocketable device more than I need a powerhouse device. I mean, I have a small notebook and pen that I carry with me. I've had a Note for my last 3 phones; I'm ready for a change.
Hey Brian, love the video. I have had the flip 2 (5G or whatever its called) for almost a year, love it, makes me smile every time I use it. It’s never missed a beat, no scratches, screen still perfect. Just ordered the flip 3 in cream, super excited.
No ready for folding phones yet, but they're definitely getting closer! I can imagine having a foldable like the Flip 3 that I slip into a slot on my car dashboard where it automatically integrates with the onboard screen, and charges while I do my commute all without wires.
Gen 3 seems to finally be a legit production product instead of the Alpha and Beta versions they came out with in the past. Still I have no use for that form factor.
Samsung is doing amazing work with these folding phones. If I wasn't a Apple fanboy, I would have had the first fold from day one! But more importantly seeing these prices drop is even better. Is this a worthy upgrade from the Note 20 Ultra? I hate how massive and bulky this phone is and I never use the S-Pen but I also don't want to sacrifice camera quality because my N20U takes the best photos I've ever seen from a phone. I love the Flip because I hate my bulky N20 but I mostly use my phone to watch netflix so the fold seems way better for that. I'm soooo torn this year.
Yeah, im the same way... or.. I dont think the note20 is too bulky, but all the else.. not using s-pen too much, and I use my phone alot, and also using it to stream a lot of movies and series. I work offshore, so was thinking about getting a tablet, but now I will not have to😁 preordered a fold 512gb 😁
Hopefully you get to unbox both of these can't wait to see the shock and all in your face but will you give it a fair review in other words where you rip it if it's not what you think it ought to be
I'm a note user. I also work in a labor intensive area. I also own the tab s7 plus. This phone is too sensitive and it doesn't offer enough for me to take a chance on it.
And the Flip 3 too, it has the Snapdragon 888 processor globally too. No exynos processor this year for the world. So $999usd for a foldable that is water resistant and globally has the same processor. 😉
Yeah, I am working offshore, so was actually looking into buying a tablet because I watch some series and movies offshift... Now I wont have too😂 my battery in my note 20 ultra is kinda getting bad aswell..so theres my excuses to switch it out
Here's my issue with the Flip: what is the value proposition of getting a foldable like this as opposed to a regular phone? The flip aspect of it doesn't solve a problem nor does it provide something new. You're still going to interact with the phone open like a regular smartphone. What is the appeal of folding that phone in two? At least the Fold provides a tablet experience but the Flip? It's so cute and great but I just don't see what the value proposition is.
Pocket-ability. At least that’s why my wife is interested. There are no reasonably sized Android phones any more, let alone small Androids. The fold would never fit in a woman’s jeans pocket. But the flip would fit just about anywhere but flips up into a pretty good screen size.
@@mattcaff yeah I could see that maybe fitting better into a purse. Makes a lot of sense. From a pocket standpoint, I'm just not sure a thick square is more pocketable than a thin rectangle. I hate when my phone bulges out of my pocket and leaves that faded out outline overtime in jeans. I feel like the flip would make that even worse cause of the added thickness.
Samsung is the most innovative company right now with foldable phones. Z fold 3 lighter, stronger, smaller, cheaper and better in all aspects. What can you really complain about? Apple waits until another company starts innovating and the builds off of that.
The z flip 3 does look cool and amazing. But I recently just got the galaxy s20 Fe. I'll probably wait maybe a year or two. To probably get a foldable device. Just depends if these phone get a lot of hype
Love your vids, but did you say 1999 Fold2? Maybe I misunderstood something, but this fold is so awesome, I mean though even if it was two iphone 13's to fold together I have no need for this type of phone, too big..... well if money was no issue I would get it just for the tech!
Regarding that under display camera. - My first reaction was why even bother. It’s not a good camera - at all. - So why bother? It’s not needed. There’s a hole punch camera on the front, or unfold it and take a selfie with the main camera.
I appreciate every tech company that pushes the envelope - it’s good for all of us as it increases competition and also force all companies to innovate. Having options is always good for consumers. However, I find these devices esthetically unpleasing. Further, I don’t understand why anyone would carry such a thick phone in their pockets. I find the discussion about Samsung vs extremely boring and quite frankly infantile. Both companies make good phones - they just cater to different people. Apparently there is a market for both players and everyone should appreciate that.
Yeah Samsung killing it honestly. Only drawbacks are front screen on Z Fold is a little too narrow… and underscreen cam pics not great. The watches are fine but I felt the bezel, although cool and satisfying to turn to get to next screen, felt a little cheap in terms of the plastic ring itself. Otherwise killing it
@@lbeetech at least on the previous watch it sure felt plasticy. It felt cheap even if the turning it to get a nice switching screen animation was fine.
Man, I really wish Apple had foldable's. Apple is so far behind other companies now. I guarantee Steve Jobs would have thought of this idea before Samsung.
i have no problem with 1800 dollars since iphones in indonesia is still more expensive arround 2000-2200 dollars if i converted the pricing to us dollar
Really cool tech and glad they’re innovating and pushing the industry forward. That said, tech is still too new to make me comfortable to throw down 1800 dabloons…

Hopefully you get to unbox both of these can't wait to see the shock and all in your face but will you give it a fair review in other words where you rip it if it's not what you think it ought to be
Check out my Z Fold 2 review and I gave it a more than fair review.
I will switch to foldable when will look like in the Westworld series. Until now flat rectangle is the perfect formfactor.
You looking very rich Brian, i can tell you’ve been taking care of yourself 🤩
If only I wasn't still enjoying my S21 Ultra, I'll get it! But, as always, great review!! Thank you!!👍🏾
I am kinda interested in the flip. Plus Samsung will give me 120 for my broken 6s
I'm a note user. I also work in a labor intensive area. I also own the tab s7 plus. This phone is too sensitive and it doesn't offer enough for me to take a chance on it.
Got that fresh cut!
I think 888 Processor on Fold 3 is a real selling point. I’m serious about it.
And the Flip 3 too, it has the Snapdragon 888 processor globally too. No exynos processor this year for the world. So $999usd for a foldable that is water resistant and globally has the same processor. 😉
I want it but I work in a very dusty place
That's a BAD 🍎!! 14:43
😂
I love your videos, and know you wanted to respond quickly, but might have been better to wait for the hands on.
Let’s go Z flip 3!
Thanks Brian
Traded in my note 20 ultra.....I think it finally has everything I want in a foldable, getting the Fold 3
I did too! Cant wait😁 have owned all the notes that have been released since the note 4..
@@Tpftww I was late so I had Note 8, Note 9, Note Ultra. These trade in pre order deals were too good to pass it up also
Yeah, I am working offshore, so was actually looking into buying a tablet because I watch some series and movies offshift...
Mr. Sam Sung: I want it 11 grams lighter!
Engineering team: Ok! We can make the battery smaller.
Mr. Sam Sung: SOUNDS GOOD!
The fold 3 has almost everything u want.. for that price it needs ultra rated cameras..
I’m getting one.
Thank u so much Brian
Price plays a big part I can buy 2 iPhone 13 for price of 1 on launch day so I’ll say 800 bucks for 1 iPhone idk man correct me if I’m wrong .
Regarding that under display camera. - My first reaction was why even bother. It’s not a good camera - at all. - So why bother? It’s not needed. There’s a hole punch camera on the front, or unfold it and take a selfie with the main camera.
So you can review a document or present a PowerPoint in a video conference. It does need to be great just close to the MacBook Pro 16in potato camera.
I want a foldable phone but I am scared that it will break so I might have to wait for a few years.
I think I will wait till the price drops before jumping in from my Note 20 Ultra
I might give the Flip a shot. But gotta wait for the iPhone 13 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro reviews first
Apple is stopping us, lets be real.
Stopping you (us) from being an isheep? Seems pretty easy not to be one. But hey, you do you!
I'm getting the zflip..trading in the 21 Ultra...just going flip world
I appreciate every tech company that pushes the envelope - it’s good for all of us as it increases competition and also force all companies to innovate.
With trade in , yes I'm for it
I like foldables! Cuz I like big screens.
Does the Z-Fold 3 offer DEX?
No, it doesn't.
@@kevinphoenix2007 with no DEX, am I forced to us the cloud to store my data?
I ordered a Fold3
I am loving the Flip 3, Moto the challenge is on
Yeah Samsung killing it honestly. Only drawbacks are front screen on Z Fold is a little too narrow… and underscreen cam pics not great. The watches are fine but I felt the bezel, although cool and satisfying to turn to get to next screen, felt a little cheap in terms of the plastic ring itself. Otherwise killing it
The ring isn't plastic it's aluminum
@@lbeetech at least on the previous watch it sure felt plasticy. It felt cheap even if the turning it to get a nice switching screen animation was fine.
@@dman7895 I've ordered OEM replacements and they are a thin Aluminum...
😂 😂 😂 Anyone heard brown Tong by mistake?
Man, I really wish Apple had foldable's. Apple is so far behind other companies now. I guarantee Steve Jobs would have thought of this idea before Samsung.
i have no problem with 1800 dollars since iphones in indonesia is still more expensive arround 2000-2200 dollars if i converted the pricing to us dollar
Really cool tech and glad they’re innovating and pushing the industry forward. That said, tech is still too new to make me comfortable to throw down 1800 dabloons…
Why doesn’t Apple do this I’m so sick of them just updating the dumb camera and calling it a new phone. Come on Apple get your shit together
Ive pre ordered z fold 3
Getting closer to Westworld!
zfold is the new note
That seems to be where they are headed.
I'm getting a foldable once I can get a deal with my carrier
All of the carriers have deals on it right now, what do you mean?
im waiting for the Fold 4 because i upgrade my phone every 2 years
Technology-wise I'm interested. Day to day? Nah! I'm too much of a Note guy to suffer from flip/fold envy. I want a powerhouse, not a gimmicky device that satisfies the average user, which Samsung is probably most interested in ($$$).
The line in the middle of the screen is still stoping me
