A lot of people idolise him but you have to remember, he even taxed his "friends". If he was in town, about a thousand people had a shit night because any of them could be his target. Imagine being in town with your bird and he walks past and then you wake up in hospital coz he sparked you out to impress whoever he's with.
Like it or not, the world is a better place without people like him, and those who think he's some sort of hero are kidding themselves, he'd have sparked you out, broken your jaw and made you paranoid forever for a free pint if he felt like it.
Well said man

A bit OTT this comment like 😂 he didn't terrorise just anybody he sought out so called hard men and drug dealers. Doesn't sound like a bully to me he used his status to help people out too
he taxed his mates, lol fk me man
He would pick on the wrong person one day and some skinny mma kid would bend him up. 😂 Bully’s always get their just dessert.
When he got stabbed he couldn’t get a taxi cos he was always refusing to pay fares to cabbies.
Fair enough taxing dealers but taking liberties with straight goers was out of order.
He couldn’t get a taxi because all the people there where telling them to fuck off and they wanted him dead
He didn't try ring for 1 ridiculous comment. Before you start yes a few drivers supposedly drove past but most would seeing all the commotion. Quite certain though somebody did pick him up/stop. Not 100 percent on the facts as wasn't there.
@@Auty1973 that's EXACTLY what happened mate

All the people that didnt like him chased the taxi's off and where shouting die ya c**t why he was trying get up with adrenaline still kicked in, he actually fell twice and still got up each time and staggered. Regardless of what people say and think even the copper said he was a one off, unique and there will never be another.
I live in Middlesbrough and I know people who knew him and nobody has a good word to say about him. BULLY.
I worked with a lad who was attacked by duffy for no reason just because he felt like it. The lad spent time in hospital but remained silent out of fear. The lad was only physically small as well.
Gets painted a picture of been a great bloke as well.

Nothing clever about thugs and bullies people are easily impressed
This glamorizes Duffy. Making it sound like he sought out the best. Which wasn’t true. He was a bully and a thug, attacking random people in clubs and bars for just looking at him!
It seems to me that he spent the majority of his time from 16 to 26 in prison?
Yeah...... legend.
There’s a difference between ‘being respected’ and ‘being feared’,
and it baffles me why so many people insist on confusing the two.
He had both respect and fear they don't make men like this anymore
@@daveywilliams7508 Well, of course not. With CCTV everywhere their mental lifestyles would be under constant scrutiny now. The only reason they behaved that way in the first place was because they thought they could get away with it.
@vordman I don't know about that 🤔 getting caught then would of been far worse than now more people are committing crime now than then 100 percent I think it's to do with the real gangsters of today being in parliament than on the streets and what you have today is tit's watching to much "top boy" and the likes of jake paul
Save your energy typing things like this the people who admire him don't know how that code works he was a horrible man he attacked my friend outside a pizza shop for no reason, the police got involved and one officer gave some off duty advice wich was don't take it any further you'll only make things worse if he finds out where you live he's got his ways of slipping through loops he'll get what's coming to him and not even a year later he did
FFS It's depressing that sad people are still whanging on about this nonentity, wannabe gangster, who in reality was nothing but a bully who got what he deserved.

Blame this Muppet and the two Charlie's, Jamie Boyle and Shaun Attwood who all have channels on UA-cam, (and others e.g. Street Crime UK) for romanticising a bully, making him out to be some sort of Pablo Escobar. The reality being the decent folk of Middlesbrough were glad to see the back of the scum!
The Duffer..a freak of nature really..its very seldom that a young guy barely out of his teens and into his 20s makes a point of not only going around challenging all the local hard men and doormen and bullies etc but to actually be able to back it up and be banging 3..4..and 5 doormen out with relative ease is very rare.
Its a shame he turned into a bully and a character that nobody wanted around..ive heard many a story(like the one from the night he died)about him poisoning the atmosphere of wherever he would go and demanding free drinks to not smash places up and just taking all the drugs of local dealers etc..the problem with that behaviour is that it creates so many enemies both known and hidden and he had apparently been picking on Allo for ages before that fateful night..beating him up and humiliating him whenever and wherever he would bump into him and that night in the Blues Club was the same..Lee turning up poisoning the atmosphere and starting on Allo and this time it ended bad..shame because he was still so young and if he had packed all the heavy drug use in and matured a bit he might have been a decent bloke and even more of a legend than he already is.

I wouldn't use what the sayers say as a source of information when researching lee Duffy. Steven sayers was never confident in Lee beating Viv Graham, that's why he would take Lee to Vivs clubs on the days that Viv was off work, and the bouncers he beat up werent even tough gangsters, most of them were family men that just loved the gym, and i think its telling how it's only ever the sayers crew, and Brian Cockrill's side of the story we ever hear on Duffy and Viv, apart from paddy conroy, who actually knew (and respected) both men, and he believed Viv would of beat Duffy quite easily if they ever fought (obviously just his opinion but he had no hatred for either men). As for Brian Cockerill, I wouldnt believe a word that comes out of his mouth, especially regarding his past (hes a prolific liar, and exaggerates everything).

Ive been in Durham, there is no rec room, and he most definitely didn't spark up a joint, ten screws would've been on his head in seconds, also screws are always known as screws, even among themselves, and he always attacked the weak and vulnerable.
I was in Durham 70s, 80s and 90s,, there was a rec room tv room and table tennis and darts on the ground floor of A wing, which housed, pedoes and grasses on the basement level and first 2 floors then YPs on the last 2,.. I was a YP in 74 and we had tv nd rec between 5pm and 7pm we used to take the section 43s the pedos n grasses, n perves buckets of tea and soup ( gravy with the vegs leftover from dinnertime ) and buns ( big hard yellow lumps of dough nearly solid ) at supper time, the screws would stop us before our first cell and spit in the tea and soup ) there would be matchsticks and cockroaches in the buns for the 43s, l was a bit disgusted but was more disgusted at what some of em were in for, they had their meals and exercise and showers seperate from the rest of the prisoners to stop them being attacked, l was on remand on the main wing thaat joined A wing in the 80s, and in 90s for breaking a court order, the rec was still there just 2 cells knocked into one, when l was there in the 70s it was a high security for male and females you could see the women in their seperte part out in the grounds dressed in bib n braces some big butch lasses who offered to rip our privates off for staring at em, the next time l was on remand as a teenager l was at low newton, which had several of my mates in there were young girls there too,, we had sunday service with them but as we entered the chapel we were screamed at by the screws to keep our gaze averted from the girls, yeah that was what we did lol,, some of the girls would deliberate turn to look at us and made bj gestures with their hands and mouths.
It was notorious for sh1t parcels, which were when banged up for the night you tore off a piece of sheet if you were busting for a crap and threw them out the windows,,, often they would burst on the walls, there was crews of lads mde to collect them every morning, one night the lad l was twoed up with called Alan from Hartlepool made a parcel chucked it out window inadvertently catching a screw with it on his cap n tunic shoulder, there was a bellow of rage, as one screw shouted l saw that come out of level 3 cell 6,, and another shouted you can see a fresh smear on the window ledge, we heard a bunch of em opening passage gates and bombingup the stairs, they wrnt to the cell next door but aa screw said no the basterd cell there ours, the door crashed open ( no mean feat as they were very heavy doors about 12 screws were in the landing one hatless and coat less, as they had ran up the stairs we sat on our beds reading mags trying to look casual, the lights were still on as it was only around. 8.30pm when 3 of the screws came in the hatless one shouted which of you filthy animals threw that shit parcel at me, the other screws were all boiling with rage wanting to do harm or appearing too dunno how real it was, we just sat dumb, stand up we were told, we did, stick your hands out in front of you we did, the screw sniffed my hands then alans," this twat" he shouted and grabbed him by the hair another two grabbed him and threw him out the cell onto the landing, the door was closed fast and l could hear blows hitting alan fists n boots and alan screaming "I'm sorry it was an accident" then just muffled pain shouts from him as they bundled him down the stairs and for a minute or so we could aall hear the smacks and kicks and grunts as they kicked the crap out of him taking him down to surgery some lads were shouting out the window wanting to know what was going on the others were shouting at the screws to leave him alone after ten mins or so a screw came along the landing banging on doors and telling everyone to shut the f up or they would all be joining alan down in the basement l think he got put in solitary but no one saw him again in the fortnight l was there,, l was taken to magistrates court and given probation for my offence of being in a riot at our local town near Redcar,
When next l was there they had placed very small bore grids to the outsides of the windows to stop the parcels.
The screws there were quick to hit you but not as bad as the short sharp shock detention centres that appeared but only lasted a few years cos of the violence done to lads by the screws who volunteered to work there so they could beat upon the lads and was sanctioned almost officially by the powers that be until even they couldnt turn a blindeye to the beatings results and ensuing suicides.
I think Deerbolt & Medomsley were involved but later became open Borstals.
Yes we were bad lads and some probably deserved tough guidance,, but many were just soft lads who got picked on by sadistic screws, the hard lads never got bothered much only the real hard core ones who wouldnt kow tow to anyone. But there weren't many.
I was well built mostly due to gentetics, my dad and uncles on both sides were big broad stocky men,, aarms like body builders just through hard work, so l was mostly left alone certaainly by other inmates, but one boro towny screw had it in for me for some reason known only to himself, maybe I'd been with his sister lol l never knew, but he tried to provoke me but got embarrassed to death when he had an Alsation which they stood with as we wrnt to work as l approached them he said something to the dog and it became fully alert, he walked towards me as if he was going to loose the dog on me but as l got closer the dog started being frisky and jumped all over me licking me and wagging its tail as if id been its long lost master, well babys and dogs had always taken a shine too me dunno why, but even l was amazed at its behaviour he staarted shouting at it trying to get it under control but when he tried to pull it away from me it growled at him and lunged for his hand,, then turned back to me wriggling and squirming and acting daft as a pup, all the other lads were laughing even some of screws, one head screw shouted at him " mr t" '' '*n get your animal under control , they made me stand still while two of them dragged the dog away, l got bailed 2 days later. Havent been in trouble since 1992, model citizen now,, l was even starting to respect the police until a run in with one a few months ago about a fairly trivial event but the copper was a right fool l literally chucked him out of my house and he ran to his van like a scared kid, bearded too, l didnt know they were allowed beards,, but if he was an example of todays coppers lord help us all.
Thank you for this brilliant documentary..👍
It was me that made Duffy tax people and i used to take it all of him, i feel so ashamed now.
Good content
Appreciate it!🙏🏼
He looked like oddbod from the carry on film Carry on Screaming.
Why do people make vids likee this when they haven't! a clue
Shut up doyle
Its 2024 research isn't difficult
10k views. It's working. Fair play
What was wrong with the video?
Because the world's now full of dumb sheeple 😅
To the ppl in these comments calling him a bully, lets get this right he got shot twice, set on fire, they attacked his pregnant girlfriend, tryed to take him out in gangs, AHH SILLY ME That must of been all the vunerable innocent ppl he picked on trying for revenge,,, the man never hit women or children or anybody who wasnt in the Life, everybody he taxed or fought with wernt innocent, they were violent men and men were men back then, so before you write your next comment remember the man payed for the life he lived with his life, before calling him or writing anything negative about him in comments, think 1st the mans dead now the life he lived nobodys got the right too comment on we didnt walk in his shoes, so have no right to call the man anything, and last time i checked talking negative about the dead, is taboo you just dont do it, theres millions of videos that you could be watching in here but you chose to sit fo half an hour and watch this so obviously yous are interested, no need for negative comments the mans got living family who could see and read them, JUST THINK 1ST,,,RANT OVER,,,AND NO I DIDNT KNOW THE MAN SO SAVE IT,,I JUST KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RIGHT AND WRONG,,,,ENJOY YOUR DAY
😂😂😂🤷🏻♂️ so the innocent bystanders queuing to get into clubs he knocked out were “in his circle” 🤦🏻♂️
It’s well known by many he was a drugged up bully who battered many innocent people who were not in criminal circles.
You also need to understand that he wasn’t a “taxman” like people think. His taxing was in clubs when he’d take a gram of coke off some lad in the toilet. Hardly taxing a drug dealer for kilos.
And just to be clear, most of us commenting here won’t need to watch this video with made up stories about a pissed up junky bully to comment. Duffy was nothing more than that and his reputation was blown out of proportion by Brian Cockerel and muppets like Paul Venus and Jamie Boyle.
He was bullied and became a bully. I knew him, his brother and his girlfriend's brothers. He was a handful but not unbeatable.
@ plenty of them about and the only reason people know of Lee is because of Brian Cockerill and muppets like Jamie Boyle.
he was shit scared of the lad who killed him just reading between the lines
Never heard of him
Marty turner was my ex boxing coach, guys a legend and done a lot for the community

Well done mate.
The Duffer a pure one off
🤡
Hey you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting how he is still talked about some 33 years after his untimely death.
@@jeffallinson8089 that’s because fanboys like Jamie Boyle keep Lees name alive with fabricated stories that wannabe gangsters like to read about
Not that much going on in Middlesbrough though is there?
He was a bully boy.
the tall dwarf
Lee Duffy just a bully
Yeah verry hard one never be another one like him simple
@brianwilliams3365 There are plenty like him
@davidhopkins848 no one like the duffy maybe nearly just like him but whst he did u never see again he's just a one off
Paul venis is meant to be like him ?
@@El89O69 he's now where near like duffy
The 90s in Middlesbrough was a rough place, take it from someone who lived there at the time, guys like duffy weren't good people because they understood what happens to nice people in boro, smackheads were rampant and guys like duffy were the only people who would help, the police don't give a shit if your below the poverty line, so yeah he was rough but anyone who knew him would tell you he couldn't take a joke but he'd have your back if you asked him for help, especially if you were a mother, saved my mam from being mugged while she was pregnant with me, even escorted her back to my dad and gave him a slap so yeah maybe not a "good guy" but at least he didn't ignore people because they didn't have money.
Lee only saw about 18th month's of the 90's...he made his name in the 80's

Always someone with sharper teeth. Shame people can’t fist fight anymore
Good effort on what is let's be fair a fairly niche character in a fairly small area a long time ago.
I doubt he could still punch people while on crutches. Rubbish!
Yes he could, sparked bouncers on wickers world. Fact.
@@CooteRJ_84 i tend to keep my mouth shut mate, but lee was stabbed st the end of my street. If you believed everything you hear, youd believe his eyes glowed red and he breathed fire when he was angry lol. He stood begind me in a chippy once (i didnt know him, 10 years or so age gap) but he waited his turn patiently, and he paid. Theres a few families in Middlesbrough that used to deal from local boozers, handy respected blokes at the time, they couldnt handle him, they were in their 30's and 40's and were well known. Lee went in them boozers and taxed them, he could walk in their pubs and k.o 4 or 5 men in 4 or 5 punches if they didnt hand their gear over, he was around 24 at this time, did you ever hear of a 24 yr old kid doing shit like this anywhere ???? No we didnt. Thats where the "bully" title came from. He came into the blues one night (where the argument broke out the night he was stabbed) He asked my mate to roll him a splif, which of course he did without question, when he took it over to him, he thanked him, smiled, winked and told him to keep the rest of the bag of weed. He used to dominate nights out, doing what HE wanted, smoking weed, sniffing coke, if anyone intervened, (landlords/bouncers/security) they were getting laid out, another side of him that got him the bully label. He was in a world that was dominated by hard men in them days, yet he was basically a kid himself and no one could handle that. If hed have lived and seen say 33/35 yrs old, who knows what he could have been. Lenny McLean apparently pulled out of an organised meeting with him, he claimed ill health, lee was 25, lenny was in his early forties. Thats why he still gets talked about (i wouldnt say idolised) but where hes from, south bank, is a rough old place, and people there are still proud of him coz other than him and Paul Daniels (the tv magician) no fucker else there amounts to much.
I heard the Police bought the lad that killed him a cake and gave it to him in his cell, as a thank you.
Yes he could clear a room quickly but he could also have one in uproar of laughter just as quickly. But nobody talks about that.
why did his farts stink that bad then
When he walked in a room, most people walked out.
@@BoroFrontLine they must have been thaty bad lol
In Doncaster we had HANCOCKS 😅 ,i always wondered how he managed to get any sleep 😴, he was constantly aggressive/angry 😅 , of course there were bigger fish 🐟 but they were more measured/calm ,Malpas/Joplin/Kamara/Shenton. 🇬🇧 80s 90s
The ducklings took Lee under their wing 😀
Police rang Duffy after his mate assaulted a taxi driver, makes me wonder just how loose with the truth you are.
14:12 wtf gay couple?
real ones know that first shot is of linthorpe road
YOUR INFORMATION IS WRONG ON BRIAN COCKERAL HE WAS FROM STOCKTON ON TEES MIDDLESBROUGH NOT NEWCASTLE
You’re correct but I never said he was from Newcastle. I said IN Newcastle as that’s where he operated.
Why is there American narrating???
"Midlesbro"
Going too any city for a Saturday night out was a nightmare in 80s 90s with mobs returning from football
