The problem with the prototype micrometer is the placement of the O-ring at the beginning of the threads... on the production ones they moved further into the threads which is why the ones I got went in so much easier... you can get the threads started B4 the O-ring engages. When I tried to see if finger tight was going to work i didn't feel any wiggle in the micrometer at all. Tightening with a wrench wouldn't hurt at all... but even finger tight works well too.
Lee says it wont fit other mfg dies... Hornady sells theirs for $80 now because it has clicks... the original version(which I have) was a lot less... I think I paid $30 or so for the one I have. I know the Lee will not fit Hornady nor will it fit RCBS seating dies.
Well as for accuracy - the closer each round's OAL is to each other the the better the accuracy. At 100 yards very little, but 300 yards yes. I bought it cause I load may different bullet heads for each caliber I reload. So it makes it easy to adjust your OAL - dial is marked so you can tell how much you more or less you seat the bullet.
great video Andy thanks for sharing
Thanks for showing this Andy. Looks good.
Lee did good on the price and better than the aluminum dial. 👍
Hi Andy thanks for the video that’s pretty cool

Andy, do you think it would work with other brands dies?

It will only work with LEE dies
Other than seeing your settings for each individual bullet do you think it really makes a difference in the accuracy?

Do you still use the inside piece on the original die
