    Agree 100% with Emergency Braking. when we were doing our course, I would stand at the end and raise my hands simulating an object (vehicle, child animal, etc.) jumping in front of the bike. That way the participants weren't breaking too early at a predetermined point. As always, great job Joe.

      The only issue with practicing 55-60mph is finding a large enough parking lot or road to do it on. But, I totally agree!

    There are almost always visual markers that can be used during daily riding to practice. At the end of my street, there is an inconsistency in the pavement I use as a marker to practice precision in my front tire stop point. I do a full lock right turn, using the tar snake as a guide. I use the on and off ramps to practice delayed apex. I use pot holes and man hole covers for swerves and straight line slalom on the road leading to my work parking lot entrance. I use the driveway as a run up to emergency breaking practice. After unlocking the gate I make about a dozen figure 8’s using parking spots and blemishes in the parking lot. I have a nice tight hairpin on the way home. The street in front of my house has a decent sloped hill, practice left and right turns from a stop on a hill. I live on a corner, I can use a right hand U turn into my drive way, go all the way to the right and make the U-turn to left (driveway is two cars wide). It is easy to practice maneuvers without cones, Being thoughtful and pay attention to details road surface provides plenty. Every parking lot, getting gas etc. gives opportunity for slow speed practice. I figure out how to route through it for challenges. Easy peasy lemon squeezy

    Emergency braking is top for sure. I just had to do one at 50mph and had to swerve around the vehicle or I would have plowed if I stayed on the brake.

    ABS fails the other way sometimes (only way I've seen it fail) where it doesn't let you stop
    ABS does not guarantee shortest stopping distance, it only says no lockup of wheel
    I really don't like linked brakes, out on the road and your in curve slightly fast, the rear brake will slow you down without standing you up, linked brakes will try to stand you up.......they don't work under a certain speed.....unless it's been fixed ABS won't work while leaning
    I have a 22 Kawasaki, the traction control stopped me from going down after hitting fine debris in a curve. With ABS linked brakes it will put me on the gas tank......my brake on XR1200 and VRod will do the same without ABS.....know how to use your brakes

    • @JoeGoeMotorcycleAdventures
      @JoeGoeMotorcycleAdventures  23 дні тому

      I’m not sure if ABS works while you’re leaning, that is one thing I’ve never tried. You make a great point, it DOESN’T guarantee the shortest stopping distance. Absolutely you need to learn to properly use your brakes and not depend on ABS. Appreciate you leaving your feedback and watching!

    STAY HYDRATED!!!
    Think this comment is irrelevant to the content of this video?
    Crush your empty water bottles like a beer can with lid screwed on a ¼ of the way. Before letting go, finish screwing on the lid.
    These crushed water bottles make excellent cones! They also take up less room in your saddle bags and trash can.
