Thank goodness for you, David Lemon! I live in rural Australia, desperate to start sculpting, but classes are out of the question. You are teaching me so much every day! Thank you for being so good to share your knowledge, and your work is a constant inspiration! Do you ever find time do workshops David?

+Alex H The music is not letting me make money from the video... My last two or three years of videos, I've left the music out.. Now I make a small amount of money per month...

I watched the video you made 11 years ago on Making a Wire Armature for a Horse. My daughter just recently had to make the decision to put her 27 year old mare down, and although I have made a few pieces using paper clay in the past, I am still a beginner. I would like to make a sculpture of her mare as a gift for her, but I'm not sure where the next video is after the armature one. I learned a lot from the first one, and would like to watch more, if you or anyone could help me find it. Love your work, you are truly incredible.

I see your video and confirmed the idea that it is always good to have references to use to near all possible references. This simple step is forgotten by some young sculptors, and is very important...
all photographs, all pictures, all diagrams that one can get are valuable.
I have begun to buy books on anatomy animal, to see and know the internal structure of the bodies

I never realised there was a channel about sculpting horses. I really want to give it a try because I have been doing horses in one way or another my whole life. I can remember drawing them in my nursery school days. I think the anatomy of the horse is more familiar to me than human anatomy and I love what I have seen you do. I really think it's about time I gave sculpture a try as I am into collecting action figures and I think I could make an equal if not better 1:6 Model than most I have seen. I looked you up because I need to know the best way of building the skeleton (armature). I have my own ideas but they are not necessarily the best. If I finish it and it comes out ok I will tag you for the armature info.

I've recently put together two instructional DVDs. One on creating Horse, and Dog as well as human armatures... ua-cam.com/video/SngoxWuliEQ/v-deo.html&feature=emb_logo
I also put together one on creating a Horse from scratch... ua-cam.com/video/Pu8mhZe7CkM/v-deo.html&feature=emb_logo
I have a total of nine instructional DVDs on how to sculpt.. taking advantage of my over 50 years of doing just that... adayinthelifeofalemon.blogspot.com/2019/03/nine-instructional-dvds-on-how-to.html

With these armatures, is it still okay to use tin foil over the armature and then place the clay on?I'm use to making armature wire and wrapping foil over it to flesh it more before putting on the clay; that and the figure is much lighter then having too much clay weighting it down. :\

+Wild African Signature If you talking about ceramic clay.. no you can't... shrinkage.... You could try though... but you'd have to take the clay off before firing..

I could do that if I didn't have this bum knee. If it wasn't for my bad knee I could sculpt like that.
