Thank you, this helped us alot. It was nice to see what we are going to hire and the features :)
Great video of a convenient way to travel in New Zealand. Looks cozy I think I could do that!
That is a really cool camper van! Thank you for sharing! :)
We loved the South Island and our Jucy!
thank you for the wonderful video
You're very welcome. Happy travels!
Cheers for sharing
Thanks! :)
In order to be self contained in NZ, don't these vehicles need to have a toilet that can be used inside the vehicle with the bed made up?
This particular model does not count as self-contained because it does not have any toilet. We were not able to stay in campsites designated for self-contained campers. But Jucy does have other van models at a higher price point that do have portable toilets, some of which are stored under a bench, and those have the official self-contained sticker so you'd be able to freedom camp with those.
Would you guys recommend the van during the winter? How warm is it at night? We are thinking of going in July. Thanks!
I'd prefer to have a self-contained vehicle during winter so you don't have to go outside to cook. Sleeping in the van could be fine if you bring good sleeping bags. We were ok without sleeping bags in the Fall but it never got too far below freezing at night.
Thanks for your tips :)
Great review! Thanks for the details. One question, is that their newer Cabana model or are all of them like that now?
I'm not sure if there's a newer model than this. We never saw a difference in the cabanas out on the road.
@@Intentionaltravelers Cool, maybe they are all updated now!
Thanks for saving my money😂😂
Where did you guys shower and use bathroom utilities?
Hi Rosa. Since we weren't "self-contained", we always stayed somewhere with a bathroom (sometimes just a port-a-potty at the free spots). Then we occasionally stopped at campgrounds where we paid a little extra for full facilities like showers and laundry.
@@Intentionaltravelers hi may i know how do you find free park and also paid park for this campervan. I'm travel with two people and i don't think i want to rent big campervan. This campervan really suitable for us. May i know the list?

I visited New Zealand not so long ago. Trip was ok but the Jucy campervan was a crock. Paid a lot of money for it.
It was imported from Japan in 2005 and was old then. It had 300,000 km on it. Every time something broke or just didnt work I was expected to take it to a Jucy centre which could be half a day away.
When the trip ended and I took the campervan back all they said was a polite sorry but piss off.
Once I got back to Europe they weren't interested. A former Jucy employee said that that the further you have travelled to get there the worse the campervan you get because they know it's difficult to complain from the other side of the world.
I've set up this account to detail my trouble and a website, there will be uploads soon here and on a website.
I guess Jucy just don't care if the country loses tourists!
Rental companies anywhere don’t have enough stock to supply you with a similar replacement. Had quite the time finding an enterprise replacement in eastern Canada this past summer.
