Thank you very much! It's just cool they kept the unique modules. LED retrofits surely save so much money over new modules entirely, especially if they're shut away when showing red.
Great video and crossing! Wasn't there also a camera fitted to the crossing with an E2S alarm on it previously as well? The MWL heads there kinda look like repurposed wayside signals. EDIT: Nevermind, I see it's still there, lol.
Probably not exactly. Technically it's still a footpath crossing, albeit with electric gates that kind-of work in a 'Manually Controlled Barrier' kind of way.
There was a full road crossing till they built a bridge but had to keep a foot crossing for less able people , But people being people would ignore the lights and cross the track even though there was a train in the station or approaching , one such person was a mother pushing a push chair 🤬👿 Do a search I’m sure the video is on YT some where
I can definitely see how it was once a road crossing with roads on both sides that strangely curve away from the tracks now. I remember that clip well, and it's surely still out there somewhere.

At least it's a manned gate, so I think presuming the attendant hasn't dozed off, they may be able to open it manually.

They don't really, it's just a 'strobe effect' involving the camera's shutter speed and the current fed to the lights.
