i love hearing about what people's days look like, it's always so inspiring - it's so easy to fall into a perception that there's only one correct way to live one's life, and it's never possible to live up to that expectation - and it's great to have a reminder that there's in fact an infinity of options out there. i really love your art! looking at you and the interior around you i kept thinking that you have a great eye for colour, and then you showed your works and i was blown away! the scrapbook looks especially mesmerising. oh, and you were right - i also love old graveyards, i find them so beautiful
@@vandomka8464 hey thank you so much for those lovely comments and you’re right. Why should we be what we are perceived to be at any given time in our lifespan! Individually, we live as we want to, maybe some people don’t have the luxury to do that , but if you can grab it. 🌸
We’ve fallen into the pattern of one year a family Xmas, the next a solo one. Daughter has to work every other Xmas (NHS). Must confess rather enjoy this. I can indulge in decorations and special food one year, then have a calm introspective time the next. The overblown extravagance never really sat well…when said daughter was small we used to walk through an old grave yard to her nursery school. It was one of the highlights of my day, all those stories hidden behind a short phrase.

I spend my Christmas Day at home alone with Madge, my rescue greyhound, and that is fine with me. I fond graveyards very peaceful too, and loved living by one once. I love reading, and always pass my books on someway, to others, or to charity shops. I buy second hand books from World Of Books, and love the thought that someone has enjoyed them before me. Love your board book - I decided I could not afford a new 2025 Diary for next year, so I have made my own, with a lovely big red hardback lined pages book. I have hand written the dates inside, and will decorate the cover with a wallpaper sample. I use these same books for my journal that I write every morning and night. I have been busy making big Christmas mixed paper stars - they are so easy to make, and make a lovely gift to others - I hot glue gunned a bit of gold thread to the top to hang them up. Thank you for the natter, I love it. Happy Christmas time to you, and Blessings from West Devon, and Jilly & Madge. xxx

Hi Peri, what a lovely fireside natter! I'm so impressed by all your creative ideas - what a fab way to spend Christmas. I had a go at gel plate printing earlier in the year, and you've made me want to do a bit more with it. It's amazing that you talked about Broadway today, as I'd just shared some pictures of it on Facebook from this time two years ago. My mum lived fairly near it, and so we always paid a visit whenever I was down. Sadly she passed away but my daughter and her wife and some friends are all joining me for Christmas day. We just have a slap up meal and play a few daft games, and relax and enjoy ourselves. The rest of the time is just me and my dogs - bliss! Happy Christmas 😊
