This is the 2nd upload of this video as I had a ‘copyright’ note! I had used a picture that was online of a set of teacups painted on a wall I believe in Germany. I didn’t know I was doing anything wrong in the public domain, at least I think that’s the reason why. There was no music playing so can’t think of what else it would be ! I am shocked that our Peri has not redecorated that garden shed to within an inch of its life! 😹 I love seeing your allotment. Losing our mums is devastating under any circumstance, I would have said the same thing to that quack. I am in awe of her starting over in her seventies! Woot woot! Mine is gone as well after a long illness and I miss her. You are an amazing woman, thank you for caring about us and encouraging us to see about ourselves. Your vulnerability is appreciated.

Thank you for being so open and honest about it all, and sharing your experience. I had my ovaries removed because they almost accidentally found pre-cancerous cells, when I was being tested for something else, and I was considered high risk because my mum had ovarian cancer. But that wouldn't have been found if I hadn't initially pushed for the blood tests when I was unwell with something else. I think you do have to push for things these days, although I do have a great GP. It's brilliant that all this lead to you buying your boat, and then doing your car camping - that's where I found you, doing your Scottish trip and posting on Facebook. I thought you were an inspiration before, but I do even more now you've shared this!

Wow, Peri! Congratulations on being a survivor. It's true though that so many people go undiagnosed or they think that a doctor is like God. They aren't, they make mistakes or sometimes just don't know. Thankfully, treatments these days are much improved and many more are recovering. What an inspiration you are and may you enjoy a gzillion more adventures. Lots of love 💕🦋 xx

Another newsy natter from you Peri. Thank you! Someone (Alan?) mentioned below that your sound was too low while you were chatting on the boat and loudly distorted when you were outside decorating. Not super important but might put some off listening. Don't think I could deal with boat spiders.... I'm a real woose around mini beasts!

Because I’m moored against a bank, for the most part she’s steady but when a boat goes by a little too fast and creates a ‘wash’ or it’s very windy, I do ‘bob about’ quite a bit but it’s quite soothing when that happens! 🤭 Hope you’ve had a good weekend. Thank you for your natural way. I live in a rural spot in West Devon, and have been here 7 1/2 years now, and used to love feeding the birds, and had so many come to my feeders, and would sit out in my little front bit, and be surrounded by them. But I had to stop about 2 years ago now, as we had a rat infestation (I live near a river too) and it turned out there was a nest with a family underground below my bird feeders! I so miss my birds, and felt terrible that I had to stop feeding them, but I still have two bird baths, and a robin comes along most days, and I have watched him/her having a lovely bath, which brings me so much joy, and to the robin I hope! I love wildlife, but sometimes we have to do things we do not want to, to keep them out of our living spaces, be they houses, boats or whatever. Hopefully your ideal of putting some netting up, will deter Mr Ratty from coming into your boat. Blessings from Jilly & Madge. xxx

@@bobbiejo8747 Morning! The tattoo was a little painful but because it was small it was bearable. A fellow boater came onboard with me just once….. to teach me the fundamentals and tbh…… it was all trial and error after that! Yep and a few bumps along the way. 😂 Now, I would call myself an accomplished Narrowboater! But mistakes are still made! That’s boating life! And I wouldn’t change it! How do we go about finding a narrowboat to buy?
@@annalytic hi there ! Sounds exciting!! 😊 Best place is a website called apolloduck.co.uk . Here you will find lots of different types of narrowboats with different stern decks and different fit outs, engines, lengths and widths! . There are some on FB marketplace- but be wary, there are a few scams at the moment . In my area which is Gloucestershire, there are some for sale on Facebook marketplace now, and as I recognise the boats and know of the previous owners I know whether they’re worth it or not. But of course you can buy a boat in any part of the country. And then drive it to wherever you want to be predominantly, or use the location to be the beginning of your adventures if you’re going to be a continuous cruiser ! Also many marinas have a brokerage, you will, however, pay a premium for the brokerage price. The other way to do it is, if you can find a marina that doesn’t have a brokerage, a lot of people sell them privately. You could just ask the question at the marina office. Are there any boats for sale here? That’s how I found mine and I have had her 10years and really happy with my boat and my lifestyle. Let me know if you find one, would love to know your progress! The bumps are called Heberden’s Nodes. Heberden's nodes are small bony growths that appear on the joint closest to the tip of your finger. Along with Bouchard's nodes, Heberden's nodes are a symptom of osteoarthritis of the hands. They can cause pain and limited motion in your hands. I’ve got them on most of my fingers. What a great idea to get tattoos

That’s very kind of you to say, I’m glad you’re enjoying my little Natterings! 😂 In my Vlog called ‘Camping Tales’ which I did about 2months ago, at the end is a full tour of my boat. You can watch the whole Vlog or push along to 26mins and it starts there. The whole Vlog duration is just over 28mins. My mooring is a permanent one, and it’s actually on the canal not in a marina. I have been up country through some of the canal system and on a couple of our rivers but I now tend to stay around the area of my mooring. As I have it all here on this canal. Nature at its best!, and I’m a bit lazy! 😂. Hope you have a lovely day🌸

Loving the amazing amount of progress you’ve made in such a short space of time - what a busy 🐝 you’ve been! As a suggestion, I would take those metal plates from the rear windows and use them to make cardboard templates which you could then slot in for times when total privacy / security is needed. A material roof would give a nice soft finish and help with air movement and the inevitable condensation. As long as it’s easily removable to evict the inevitable bugs, critters and flying things that are bound to find their way to the wrong side.
