    Before this, I read many pages in the internet about well-posed and ill-posed, and still didnt understand well about those topics. After watching this video once, I completely understand 'now what the definition of them..LOL.

    how do calculate for x and y

    • @numericalmethodsguy
      @numericalmethodsguy  6 років тому +1

      You can use substitution or Gaussian elimination!

      I know its a very late reply but posting anyways for anybody else who comes here with the same question:
      You can use:-
      1) Gauss Elimination Method (Direct Method)
      2) Gauss Elimination with Partial Pivoting
      3) Gauss-Jordan Elimination
      These are some ways of solving x, y, z... for any system of linear equations

    First matrix is pretty close to singular matrix and is ill conditioned

    • @numericalmethodsguy
      @numericalmethodsguy  2 роки тому

      Well, the best way to check is to calculate the condition number of a matrix. The determinant is a poor way to check for well- and ill-conditioning of a square matrix.

      @@numericalmethodsguy This is only my observarion
      Is it coincidence ?
      When we have matrix which is close to singular matrix we will divide by a number close to zero to get solution but division by number close to zero may cause numerical problems
      Thats why I didn't reject this observation

    when the values of coefficient matrix are changed keeping the constant matrix same then the values of x and y are wrong...
